Holy fuck, what crawled up your guys's asses and died? 5 pages and it's seriously almost unanimous that a guy trolling on a game of halo so much as slightly constitutes his home being invaded by a swat team?

Griefing is just stupid fun at the end of the day. Take that girl for example. Ok, maybe she was annoyed for the time being, but do you think she was permanently traumatized by some guy acting stupid on a game of halo? No. If anything she has a funny story she can tell now about how some doucher on xbox live started screaming "put the cupcake in my ass! Bake that shit! it's risin' I'm risin'!" Even if she's not a good sport about it, so what? one game got ruined. Some dildo camping with a sniper can do that just as easily. Plus, she could have easily muted him or left the game.

I really have to disagree with this:

To me that's what justifies it. Acting like an asshole and annoying someone temporarily is more than outweighed by bringing joy and entertainment to thousands of people.

So no, I don't think he deserves this. Does he deserve to be regarded as a jerk? Sure, because that's what his "character" is, so obviously that's the point. Do I think this is funny? There are much funnier things, and much funnier griefing videos for that matter, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't chuckle when he starts rattling off stupid sexual pseudo jargon in quick succession while the girl says "can you shut up for like, 2 minutes?"

In basic comedic back and forth, usually there's a strait man and an eccentric. Think of some comedy shows or movies you like. More than likely there's at least one scene wherein the comedy is derived from a "strait man" character getting angry at an eccentric. That's what this is. The eccentric is played by an improv comedian while the more realistic "strait man" character is played by an actual person. The result is a very real type of comedic tension, which can be fucking hilarious in a more unique and unpredictable way than scripted comedy. This is why I grief and enjoy griefing videos.

But even if Keemstar did this with completely malicious intent, again, it's an online match in a videogame. It's not that big of a deal.

I like the Federation too much to be mad at Keemstar. The Robot videos are some of the funniest things on youtube. On the other hand, the Swat thing was pretty damn funny too. Also, I think that anyone who plugs a headset in and talks to people online, should be prepared for anything, so to answer your other question, I find the griefing videos hilarious.

I'd recommend you leave that up to her.

So bullying people is ok when it makes others laugh? What is wrong with you?

Verbal insults in a non-physical situation where the person being insulted can get up and leave if they want, for the entertainment of thousands, is the heart of some comedy.

Well, that is true. So you wouldnt object someone making fun of you on television or in front of an audience, if you could just walk away? Ok, good for you. But that girl objected. It is not okay to make jokes on the expanse of others, as long as they arent in on it, or when they explicitally ask you to stop. Thats just being an asshole.

I wouldn't even call it bullying. It's more like patronizing, being as there are no instances of threats or any type of direct verbal abuse. Plus it has that "Refuge in Audacity" effect. Keemstar is so boisterous and annoying that he's unrealistic, and it's obvious that he's putting on an act for the sake of a joke. The girl was probably angry at him more due to the fact that he was loud an annoying rather than because she felt somehow legitimately sexually compromised by some dude acting like a retard on his xbox headset.

Yes, he's a douche.

No, douches aren't worth wasting tax dollars on to pull an elaborate prank.

...Okay, yeah, they totally are. This was fucking hilarious. Marginal benefit outweighs marginal cost.

Again, I recommend you ask the girl about that, not asume what her feelings may have been. If I recall correctly she said "please stop, this is getting weird", which, to me, sounded like she felt genuinley uncomfortable. But that is up to interpretation and only she could clear that up.

As Mel Brooks so eloquently put it, "Tragedy is when I cut my finger, comedy is when you fall down a manhole." The point being, without doing things at the expense of others, some of the funniest comedy would never exist. Also, as said before, nothing was stopping her from muting him so she obviously didn't object that much.

I know the police think he didn't do it but it wouldn't surprise me if he did just for his 15 seconds of fame.

Yeah this guy deserved for being a self righteous prick his video isn't even funny and he's the kind of guy that ruins gaming for other people, not really fair on his family though. Although admittedly she should have just muted him or left the game if she was finding it that bad.

Either DJ Keemstar's videos are staged or that girl deserved it if she didn't think of muting him.

.
Muting would not stop the influx of harassing messages she started to receive from him and his asshole buddies.
While I agree this is some serious abuse, he doesn't deserve a SWAT team moving in and terrifying his family. If Microsoft pulled the plug on people like him things would be different.

From an outside point of view, it is pretty amusing but thinking about how that girl must have been feeling makes me angry. I mean seriously, she is just there to have fun and to be treated like that. Mute button works but those messages was crossing a line.

I'm with Guitarmasterx7 on this one. Talking smack (or talking dirty in this example) isn't illegal on the internet. If she was uncomfortable with all this she shouldn't have responded and just muted him. Maybe it isn't the most sophisticated attempt at humor, but being unfunny isn't a crime either. Calling a SWAT team to raid someone's house is, it causes actual harm and fright. Plus, EVEN IF you view his 'prank' to be incredibly insensitive and insulting, that doesn't justify retaliation of this sort. I'm shocked to see people actually justifying the SWAT raid; some people really need a reality check.

Is there no law on how you may treat other people? Sexual insults and over the top immaturity, I really hope his brain will evolve out of it.

Well i guess it makes me a douche bag, but I found the video pretty funny. So no I don't think the guy deserved what he got. Judge me if you must, but thats my opinion. Also, why didn't she just mute him?

You Reap what you Sow ... if you piss off enough people, one of them is eventually going to do something about it.
