Never shed a tear, but I came pretty close.

The ending of Silent Hill 2, (yes, even the 'Leave' and 'Dog' ending...), the death of Aerith in Final Fantasy VII, and a mighty hefty chunk of the latter half of Metal Gear Solid 3.

I've never actually shed a tear but I have been moved and I've felt emotional on a number of occasions.

A few examples:

MGS4 - Act 4, the nostalgia was incredible... one of the best gaming experiences of my life.
MGS3 - The Boss, post battle cut-scene and hearing her story via EVA at the end.
MGS - Sniper Wolf death scene.
Shadow of the Colossus, slight sadness after killing each colossus and the cut-scene preceding the final gameplay sequence (I think it was that one, haven't played it in a while).

I think when Dogmeat died on fallout 3. Admittedly there were no tears shed cos im so full of testosterone and i pump so much iron, but still, tugged at the heart strings.

There were so many tears

Halo 3's ending. There i said it. *puts up flame shield*
Amen, that was emotional. You can take the soul out of the game, but you cant take the game out of the soul.

...what i mean to say is that the ending was rather emotional however soul-less you believe Bungie to be.

Chalk another one up to Silent Hill 2. Specifically, the In Water ending, which was the first one I got.

And the ending of Shadow of the Colossus didn't quite get me, but it came awfully close. For the entirety of the ending sequence, I was hunched in a ball, gripping the controller in both hands, staring at the screen with my mouth hanging open. No tears, but one hell of an emotional response! ;)

Ending E of Drakengard also came pretty close. After a ridiculously difficult final boss fight (if it can even be called a fight),
Caim and Angelus finally succeed in destroying the Mother Beast...only to be shot down by the Japanese air force and end up impaled on a Tokyo skyscraper.
Ouch!

I got close enough to tears when I had to kill off Riccardo in Haunting Ground.
He was the only creep that cared about you a bit. A tiny bit. xD

And I know I've cried with other games, but not recently. I can't remember anything.

Any death scenes from the Brothers in Arms series. I mean, damn. Not all of them have moved me to tears, but most of them came pretty close.

In Road to Hill 30, first when Allen and Garnett bite it, and then later, when Leggett gets blown up in the final mission.

Or how about in Hell's Highway, at the very end, when Baker tells Red that he's paralyzed? I will admit, that scene moved me to tears. I mean damn.

As a man, i don't cry.
Tears are produced by the ovaries.

I just detach when i play games, although i can completely understand why some people might shed a tear.
I got really upset when i couldn't help my friend in far cry 2, after he'd saved my ass so many times. The "goodnight sweet prince" option for a downed friend, pretty cold.

Yes, I know this thread has probably already been created millions of times, but if you're planning on sending me hate mail and whatnot, FUCK YOU.
On a slightly more emasculating note, what are your favourite gaming tear-jerkers?
Butch men fear not, no one's gonna take the piss... unless your answer is completely and utterly babyish, in which case grow up.
I'm not ashamed to admit that at least two moments in FFX made me shed a tear, not including the hours i spent weeping after realising I had spent about 200 hours of my life playing with imaginary Japanese characters.
So tell me what your ones are, I'm intrigued.
I think no one's that immature here in this forum to take that much time to piss you off. I'll say it and I'll say it again FF ix was the one that got me close to tears but no. I was more overwhelmed that I finished it.
Ready to be surprised?
People are cruel, especaily introverted nerds like us...
i've already seen the word "sissie (sissy)" used.

The World Ends With You ending.
Yes, I know it's a J-RPG, but daym, that shit moved me.
It just broke my heart when Neku found himself at the Scramble again and screamed.
And when the four got back together was pretty cool.

When Maxi died at the end of Soul Calibur... that was pretty close. Anyone who screams "See you in hell" in Japanese before launching them 40ft in the air with a pair of nunchuks is an international treasure.

The end of 'The Legacy of Kain: Defiance' had me absolutely gutted. I was all 'bleh' for about a week.

the first game that made me cry was Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, i was probably ten at the time and for some reason the ending was just too much for me (and still is actually)

since then the only games that have made me cry (or at the very least feel close to crying) would have to be the MGS series

1. (If you didn't/couldn't save Meryl during the torture scene) Meryl Silverburgh dieing MGS
2. Sniper Wolf dieing in MGS
3. Emma Emmerich dieing in MGS2

that's all i can seem to remember off hand (although I'm sure there are plenty more, i just get really attached to my games/books/movies....)

The ending of Phantom Brave made me cry
Also, I cried a few times in the "reincarnation" chapter of Disgaea
