But they r sooo much fun, and make lotsa sense. I mean come on u either get to escort some uber powered guy like in wow who if had any common sense who actually get outa the place easily or u get to escort some weak little woose who walks at the pace of a turtle who some form of warzone just to really annoy u and give u basically nuthin for ur attempts or just dies in some cutscene after[Insert Name Here said:]Escort missions must die. That's where Fable 2 excells really, you can complete the good AND bad acheivements with 1 character.jonnopon3000 said:What he said.Fenolio said:Quick time events.
Pointless Gimmicks because of the hardware. (looking at you DS / Wii ¬_¬)
Plus, achievements designed to make you play again - such as inFamous's good/bad achievements.
Pretty much this, Super Mario Galaxy served to reinforce that hatred. Also, persistent low-health sounds (i.e Link to the Past).Xerosch said:Forced racing sections in Jump & Runs. I hate them!
BUT ITS THE FUTURE OF GAMING DAMMIT!!Romaru said:This and motion controllersEditos said:Multiplayer achievements/trophies, the bane of online gaming.
I disagree. I don't like unlocking things because I am very specific about how I want to play. There are certain weapon/clothing/combat styles that I always use and I want them from the start. If I have to play the game for ages with my character not looking right then by the time I have the stuff I want then I'm probably fed up with the game.Demon ID said:do you mean everything unlockable, or just characters? And defend ones, especially when you have next to no ammo.[Insert Name Here said:]Escort missions must die. Painfully.
If you took every unlock out of MW2 then multi player and already had them unlocked, then wouldn't be anywhere near as good.Flames66 said:I disagree. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I agree! I look onto F.E.A.R. 2 and Quake 4 with disdain that I'll never unlock those achievements because... They're practically dead severs.Editos said:Multiplayer achievements/trophies, the bane of online gaming.
Barrels that explode when you hit them withaknife, that's stupid indeed.DoctorNick said:Crates and barrels.
Really, how often do you actually see crates or barrels day to day?
ALMOST NEVER.
Worst of all are ones that not only explode, but that will go off just by being sneezed on.
I think having the old health system would be nice, but you could have it that you carry healing items on your character's person.Kollega said:Dedicated servers. FLAME ON![HEADING=2]Alright, this joke is bad.[/HEADING]

I'd like to see not complete disappearance, but decrease in "magically regenerating health" systems. Or at least some attempts at justification.
That's why most good games have the kindness to leave ammo crates laying around on defend missions.omega 616 said:And defend ones, especially when you have next to no ammo.[Insert Name Here said:]Escort missions must die. Painfully.
Some games do it the right way. Take Borderlands for example. Zombie Island of Dr Ned is an exansion, as opposed to a part of the original game. So it's not so much a slippery slope...ascorbius said:There is something sinister creeping up in games at the moment.
I'm putting large amounts of time into Dragon Age Origins and I'm really enjoying the game. I'm kind-of a completionist when it comes to these sorts of games, I want to make sure no stone is left unturned and every piece of good armour and every good weapon is at my disposal for the fights ahead...
So far everything is fine.. but I see that they've introduced in-game (whilst you're playing, part of the game map) DLC which you have to pay for.. So the completionist like me is having this carrot dangled in front of their eyes saying... here's a bit of the game you're not going to be able to play because:
a) I'm not paying extra for a bit of the game referenced in the main map.. I paid for it dammit!
b) My XBOX is not online so I couldn't get it if I wanted to. (I live in rural England and Broad band is mostly considered to be an overweight musical quartet)
The game was over £30, why should I have to pay more? As it happens, I have a voucher with my game to get this particular DLC for free.. but my point still stands.. I can't download it.
This particular instance is relatively harmless.. it's not a main part of the story, it's just a nice to have.
But how soon before it becomes part of the main story arm? How soon before a mission is incredibly hard unless you opt to buy the DLC?
Slippery slope or paranoia?
Sorry for the large post..
You know how l4d it makes it black and white when you're on your last bit of health? Screw that.necromanzer52 said:I loathe escort missions.
Also you know in a lot of shooters if you're getting shot your screen starts turning red. Even in shooters where that doesn't indicate your health. It's bloody annoying. All it does is make it harder to see the screen making it more and more likely for you to die.
