Reznov from Call of Duty, is the coolest Russian in any game ever. He is so awesome that time and space bend to his will to protect mother Russia..... At least to me.

Well 1st let me say, welcome to the Escapist!

I was always fond of Reznov as you listed, but also I felt that Niko from GTA 4 was a pretty good character.

EDIT:

Personally I preffered Roman. "Here's Yur Couzin'" never get's old, even after the 452nd time.

I found that to get rather ear on sandpaper-ish. I muted every character voice just to get rid of that qoute.

EDIT 2: I can't vouch for his heratige, but he damn well sounds like a russian. Jorge!

Reznov is cool, and an actually interesting character in the sea of generic soldiers (I mean come on guys... take a hint from Band of Brothers or Saving Private Ryan and characterize your action heroes!)
Though I gotta say, Urdnot Wrex is number one in my book. Favorite Mass Effect party member

Last I heard, the consensus was probably Serb and possibly Croat, although his background makes it a good bet that he was from Bosnia.

The voice actor is Russian and his Serbo-Croatian accent is horrible.

In the first Mercinaries game, there are two Russian characters. The boss is a complete idiot, but I like his second in command.

Dammit I can't remember their names.

...from Resident Evil 5. The name alone, Josh Stone, sounds badass, even though it doesn't quite make sense, seeing as how he's African.

This guy is just saving everyone's sorry asses in Resident Evil 5.

Chris and Sheva get overrun by Majini on motorcycles? Captain Stone and his team bail them out.

Jill Valentine is left behind by Chris and Sheva because they have to stop Wesker? Josh Stone rescues her and brings her to an helicopter to escape.

The helicopter pilot dies horrifically? That's okay. Josh Stone can not only pilot the helicopter, but his Stone senses lead that fucker right to the volcano that clumsy Chris and Sheva find themselves trapped in.

He saves everyone, he has a badass voice, a badass name, and badass melee moves, all being enough to at least balance out the poor portrayal of Africans in the enemies and in Sheva. He is Josh Stone, and I hope he makes future appearances, at least in Mercenaries modes.

Jorge is Hungarian in heritage. He's a Reach native, and the planet is predominantly Hungarian in origin.

Sergei and Josef, Boss and Henchman respectively. Josef is actually the only non-mercs character from the first game to be referenced in Mercs 2, besides Song and the Chinese General (who is actually in the game so it doesn't count - though his character is so radically different it's hard to tell).

For myself. Well the Mercs reference got me thinking, so I'll have to say Mui from the first game. Her character is bastardized in the sequel, but in the first game she's a gun-savvy, kick-ass, female lead. In the second she spends most of her time complaining about fashion and shoes. Fail.
