Well, I don't have a 360. When I get a trophy on my PS3 though, I actually don't feel anything. I've never really cared much for the things. They just seem so pointless.

I own a 360 and never understood the point. Every now and again Ill try and get an interesting achievement (5 second hangtime in Borderlands) but I still think its dumb to waste your life trying to get achievements, especially if you are not having fun doing so.
I think you got your games mixed up. Brutal Legend has a 5 second hangtime ach not Borderlands. It has the complete the speedway in under 31 seconds.

Na borderlands has 3 actually. Its a 3 second, 4 second, and 5 second hangtime. I forget what the achievement is actually called, something about orbit but it definitely has it because I was driving around while questing and wondering where I could actually get 5 seconds of air.

Batman Arkham Asylum made me look for the hidden random items to get the achievements. I actually found the quest challenging whilst also being fairly easy

No offense but if we are talking the 360 version you are mistaken. Here is the full list

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/borderlands/achievements/

The driving ones include killing 25 enemies by ramming and the speedway.

Brutal legend has the "Silence Groundwalker" ach for 5 seconds or more of airtime in the Duece any mode.

I have 1000 on Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts and Borderlands just because i enjoyed them.
But to be honest, more games should act like L4D2 and Halo in a sense with the Avatar Awards, they really give you a incentive to get a certain achievement or milestone in a game.
But on the other side of things, when people play games like Avatar, and Hannah Montana just to get full gamerscore on them, and they have 1000 on almost every game they buy, they really have no life nor do they enjoy getting them, which pretty much describes the population of the Xbox360 Achievements website or whatever, ALL of those people get the achievements whether they are having fun or not.

I'm currently playing through Dead Rising again and trying for the full 1000. Going for zombie genocider now, and then it will be the "survivor" achievements which will either end in victory... or a fried/over-heated 360. =]

O well I guess the 360 version doesn't have it but when it comes to shooters I stick to my PC and thats what I have it for. It seems that the achievement list for PC is much more robust then the 360 version as there are a TON of achievements to get on the PC, many of which I will ignore because I am not trying to waste my life getting 2500 kills with a rocket launcher.

Assassin's Creed.
I found ALL the flags.

All of them.
Welcome to the club brother! :D

I've also searched the ENTIRE world of Prince of Persia (360) for the lowest point in the game.
8 hours later, Gamefaqs said it was somewhere stupidly simple.
T'was fun....

I got every achievement in fallout 3. It was pretty satisfying, knowing I'd played the game to death and beyond. I don't usually go for achievements that have no tangible reward, like Assassin's Creed flag hunting or stupid no cheats mw2 intel hunting.

I dislike the games where you get trophies for anything that requires next to no effort and some extra time. I mean like in Killzone 2, where you get a trophy for manually reloading 25 times, or shooting the helmets off of a certain number of soldiers (which you can do after they are dead).

Also, the ones where you need to get to a certain rank on a leaderboard, or play through without dieing (each of which Killzone 2 showcased).

Or games that go halfway, or too far. I remember one where you get an achievement for killing roughly 100 enemies, and you go through around ten enemies every encounter (can't say which I am thinking of, but there are a handful of them). That is halfway, where they have an achievement for killing X number of enemies, but you get it with five minutes of playing. But that goes too far sometimes in my opinion. Like the Seriously 2.0 from Gears of War 2, where you have to kill 100,000 enemies. How the fuck am I going to stay interested for that long?

And a special place in the back of my heart is reserved for my hatred of the Halo Wars achievements. They almost always center around not letting a single type of structure get destroyed, or a certain type of unit die. All they add up to in the end is "get several hundred gamerscore for playing the game through on easy mode".

Actually there is a list of stuff like that (get 2500 kills with each type of weapon, buy X amount of stuff, sell X amount of stuff ect ect) but we don't get achievement points for them. It is the page inbetween the quest list and the conversation page. The only achievement related to those is "12 Days of Pandora" which if you get that then you get points added to your gamerscore. They do give you bonus xp for completing them though.

I'll usually Achievement hunt If I haven't got any new games recently.

It seems the hardest achievements fore me to get is the Veteran difficulty achievements in COD4 and MW2. My strategy does not work well on Veteran D:

The Sith Master achievement in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. To earn it, you have to beat the game on the highest difficulty setting. I flat-out loved this game, despite all of its flaws, but it really is downright unfair in Sith Master mode.

When you're first starting out (IE, with no experience points put into defense, blaster deflection, max health, health recovery or battle meditation), it only takes three or four blaster bolts to kill you. If you get knocked down, it's pretty much game over, because every enemy in the area will fire on you at once while Starkiller takes his sweet ol' time getting back to his feet.

That borderline-masochistic level of difficulty, combined with the game's inherent control issues, makes this achievement easily one of the most difficult I've ever tried to get.

I view the achievements much as I viewed the completion list in Vice City, it gives you more of a reason to play the game, I don't give a shit about the score that I have, I just think that the unique ones give you a challenge that is fun and (redundant) challenging to do.

Much better than the trophies that ps3 awards.

Also the "kerplok" sound of the achievements is audibly satisfying, and I wish that sound was reserved for only achievements not friends signing on or warnings for updates, I think those should use a different sound.
