I not sure if this is in the playlist but how about "All The Lonely People"? I really like that song.

I don't exactly hate them but when I think about them, I am reminded about an ex friend of my who is a hardcore Beatles fan. It would be bias of me to say I hate them just because an ex friend of my love them but I do admit I love the song "All The Lonely People".

It's called Eleanor Rigby...

It pretty much is common knowledge to know who The Beatles are, and you should probably be familiar with a couple of their most famous songs to avoid embarrassing yourself. That said, Beatles fans need to chill out. I don't mind The Beatles, they're great and all, but all the Beatles fans I've met have had this tendency to be a little, how do I put it..

"My favorite band is the best band of all time! Therefore my taste in music is objectively awesome and I'm going to proclaim my love for The Beatles in the loudest and most exaggerated of manners, and I won't shut up about it. And you can't shut me up about it either, because my favorite band is the best band of all time and we both know it!"

At least, that holds true for all of the ones I've met, and it can be a little annoying at times. Go ahead and introduce your friend to The Beatles, she might end up liking them. But keep in mind that it's fully acceptable to not give a damn about a band. And that goes for any band, even The Beatles.

Yeah, that's a very good song. Depressing, but good.

I'd advise you to get her Abbey Road, personally. It's my favourite Beatles album.

Ah thank you I was looking for the proper title to that song (I'm bad at spellings) and I only remember bit of the lyrics.

Crikey, why do people who don't like The Beatles post in a thread asking for the most essential Beatles songs?
Presumably for the same reason people who don't like CoD or Halo or MLP post in threads about those subjects. I have no idea what that reason is, but I assume there must be one.

OT: I'm not a big music person. I AM well familiar with the Beatles and enjoy their music but I don't know that I could pick out a specific song.

I do agree how baffling it is that someone could have simply never heard of them, though.

If this is a girlfriend, than you absolutely have to do All My Lovin'. It's my favorite song by them personally. I also really liked Octopuses Garden, Being for the Benefit of Mr.Kite and, Yellow Submarine.

BftBoMK, upon a bit of further reflection, is actually a song I like more than All my Lovin'...Get her to listen to that.

and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6tV11acSRk&feature=related this.

Of course it's a HARD choice as the beatles have so many good tracks... but those 3 are in my top 5 so i figured i'd stick em here for you.

Well, it's one thing when it's just general discussion of a franchise, since criticism/negative opinions do contribute there. But this is just asking for songs; it's even more baffling.

OT: I'd second "Eleanor Rigby" and throw in "Yesterday".

And? The majority of people don't know about my favorite band, but I don't act like that when they say so. Obviously, Rise Against are quite as famous as The Beatles, but I listen to them all the time, and love every single one of their songs like a child. I'm a huge fan, but I don't act like you when people say ''Who are they?''

The one Beatles discussion I have with my friends is this: Which Beatles song is the best Beatles song ever: Come Together or Back in the USSR. These are the only 2 choices.

Also, allow me to top you. My Sophmore year roomate, an old friend from High School was in the room with me when I was playing music. And he looked at me confused when I mentioned Stairway to Heaven.

Yes. That's right. He had never heard Stairway to Heaven or any Led Zeppelin.

I gotta back up the OP on this. It's not a matter of taste. It's a matter of the shock at how deeply under a rock you have to live to have never heard of The Beatles. Its not so much bad as it is surprising.

But she HAD heard of them, which makes it worse. She did know about them, and knew some of their songs! The majority of people don't even know half the bands I like exist, never mind name songs by them!

Not a fan of the Beatles, I just don't enjoy them.
I do like Come Together though.
They still piss me off because everyone has shitfits about them
