"Everyone okay?" Asked Viktor after taking a deep breath; this brought Daniel out of his thoughts, and back into some semblance of focus. Daniel turned around to see the corpse of the Mindflayer laying on the floor, with his head practically blown off, the contents of which were scattered everywhere.

Good riddance. Nothing but trouble. He thought to himself.

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine Viktor. Sorry for not helping out, just... needed a moment to myself. This place is a little unsettling." Replied Daniel, sounding a little bit distracted, but otherwise fine. He quickly coughed before rejoining the others.

"Well then, we better make for the next objective. We should probably gather up these remaining Soul Crystals as well. I know that Demon said they already had enough for their own needs, but we wouldn't want them coming back just in case; besides, I'd still like to get a better look at these, it may provide us with a lead to follow on." Daniel's voice sounded more calm and relaxed now, pushing back some of the earlier apprehension.

"Are you sure of that?" Karis asked Daniel. "You weren't looking so good a moment ago".

"I'm going report back what we've learned and request transport for the crystals be sent ASAP, every one else help get the crystals ready to be moved." Seth said and headed back up to get a clear signal, visibly frustrated with both being behind still and Joachim's little stunt, even going so far as to spit on the Mind Flayer's corpse as he passed it and grumble about 'finding good help' a bit on the way out.

Karis thought about calling Seth out for bringing in the Mind Flayer, but decided against it for now and just helped get the Crystals ready to move. "How much do you lot trust what the guard said about these being provided to them by one of the Angels?" Karis asked, eyeing the pile. "Personally, I don't believe it. That would imply cooperation between Demons and Angels and that's never happened before to my knowledge. I think they some how stole them, or given the quantity on hand, stole the means to make them, cause the implications of the Angels taking Lucifer's side in this is more then a little troubling."

Forward Base near the Lost Gate

Daughtry watched as the set up continued giving orders as need but mostly just watching the make shift 'base' come together when one of the aides came up with Seth's message, to which he gave the order to send a small team to aide retrieval of the crystals and bring the team back, as well as to keep the part about the Angel quiet for now, as it could be very demoralizing to say the least.

?Why wouldn?t at least some of them work with these upstarts?? Viktor asked, still doing he?s best to keep a lid on things. ?Luci was an Angel at one point, what?s to say that not all of his followers ?fell? with him? I can think of many reasons why it would?ve been to his advantage to have some loyal peon stay behind.? The whole time he was speaking, he never took his eye off Seth.

?As for wither or not ?Lunch? was telling the truth? I?m inclined to believe him. He had nothing to lose, and a lie would be discovered rather quickly; but the truth, now that limits our options. We can?t risk making contact ?Upstairs? as it were without risking tipping off those involved; and should a well-intentioned holy roller show up we?ll need to be very cautious.? He shifted ever so slightly to put Daniel in his peripheral vision as the last words came out of his mouth.

"Are you sure of that?" Asked Karis. "You weren't looking so good a moment ago."

"Yeah, I'm feeling better, just something about this place caught me off guard, needed a moment to recuperate; I'm sure you understand." Daniel then listened to Karis's uncertainty regarding whether or not the Demon soldier was telling the truth about whether the Angels were helping with the homecoming of Lucifer. Of course, Daniel knew that it was partially true, but he would have to choose carefully what his next words were; otherwise he could get found out.

Viktor quickly disagreed with Karis's assumption, but just when Daniel thought another fight was going to break out; he elaborated by saying what Daniel was thinking, that certain follower's of Lucifer had escaped their punishment. Daniel recalled that a few divine beings had managed to avoid being cast out by either surrendering or defecting by providing information regarding Lucifer's forces during the War. Despite this, those that did were under heavy supervision in case they tried anything.

He took note of the fact that, as Viktor finished speaking, the vampire was looking in his direction, in-directly hinting that he knew who, or rather, what Daniel was.

"Indeed you have a point Viktor, after all, the road to hell is paved with good intentions as someone once said. As for making contact with those above, there are not many methods one could employ to do such a thing; at least, not with what we currently possess. Even then, they'd still have to pick up the phone so to speak."

Tomas

Tomas shake his head at the now dead corpse of the demon. Flicking his fingers to get the blood off of his claws a bit as he mumbles "Pathetic..." Walking off as he see everyone packing up and leaving. Helping out as best he could as they all head back to forward base.

Tomas didn't know how to feel about the rumor of demons and angels. On one hand it sounds outlandish and some bad fanfiction story. On the other, demons were once known as angels so the odds of some angels fallin from grace again could happen. Though Tomas didn't like to think that.

William

William was glad that the demon was now dead after his betrayal. He never knew he could feel glad that something has died, even if it was a demon. Though he was going to kill them after being summon to help so William at the moment didn't feel pity towards the creature.

Turning back to his human form as he sigh, the overworking on his transformation is working on him a bit, but not as badly as he thought. "Glad everyone alright...at least for now.." William spoke. Though the spreading news about angels and demons working together was alarming. William didn't know if he could believe that.

'Aren't angels and demons suppose to hate each other?' He ask himself. Pushing that thought out of his head at the moment as he saw everyone packing up. Helping out but mostly keeping to himself right now. He didn't feel like talking at all after what happen today.

Solomon

There was a slight satisfaction in watching the demon go down, though he noted two things. One was that everyone had worked together to take the demon down, which was a pleasant observation. However, the second thing was that Karis had not moved a muscle. Even Seth, if it was just in an attempt to cover himself, had tried to save himself and Sol. Karis has just watched.

So good was he as a mercenary.

He reappeared, wishing he could just wash out the negative feelings in his body, make them disappear. Sol hated feeling like this, it made him feel sick.

"Everyone okay?"

Sol didn't know how to answer. He was fine, physically at least, but he was also angry. Angry and stressed. His currently reply wouldn't make anything better. Besides, Viktor didn't deserve having it aimed at him. Viktor had kept up the fighting, sure. However, the catalyst, the one who kept making it worse had been Karis.

Not that it's much of a surprise.

He supposed it was partly that Karis seemed to symbolise all that Sol did not want to be seen as, a cold, murder-happy mercenary who did not see the difference between right and wrong. Someone who would keep going on about being unbiased, only doing it for the money, then at the next moment decided that one kind of monster was better than another.

Sol tugged at his hat. He really had a lot to say that he really shouldn't.

"How much do you lot trust what the guard said about these being provided to them by one of the Angels?"

"I trust those things more than I trust you, in a fight or elsewhere," Sol muttered to himself, as he started helping out with the crystals as far away from Karis as he could. If it was picked up by the others, that wasn't his intention. Honestly though, Sol kinda thought it should be heard. Nonetheless, he acted as if he hadn't said it, and just kept to preparing for takeoff.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Lenah

Lenah had been showing Sol's master the nearby town a little. It hadn't been especially popular in the beginning, with Elizabeth insisting on seeing Sol first. However, Lenah didn't want to give Elizabeth all the details regarding the mission. Besides, Sol might need some time to himself after the mission, to gather himself so that this thing that Elizabeth was going to talk to him about wasn't going to feel so... sudden?

Of course, that had failed spectacularly. She had brought Elizabeth to the school at the time when she thought the mission would be over, just to find out that Sol had gone -or rather, been sent- to a new one almost instantly. It hadn't taken long for Elizabeth to find out as well -seeing as she had overheard the conversation- and started demanding questions. Soon enough, she was knocking on whatever doors needed to be knocked on, demanding the details, threatening to slice down what stood in her way.

So... I'm guessing this won't lead to a happy peaceful meeting.

Lenah thought to herself, as she created some magic water and mixed it with a bottle of gin.

I'd rather be drunk for that lecture.

She figured she might as well prepare for whatever repercussion followed from being the one who had "kept Elizabeth away from those supernatural balls of slime" (Elizabeth's words, not hers), and having Sol join in the beginning due to her injury.

I mean, given all that... It probably won't be pretty...

She thought again, and took a generous sip of her mix.

"Everyone okay?"

Mirabelle relaxed herself after a moment that and said, "Yeah...I don't think that he was able to do anything else besides attack Seth." The monster hadn't taken long to kill after all, what with the constant assault that the others had done. Still, she was more relieved that someone hadn't gotten injured in that fight, what with the jumbled mess that it devolved into, than concerned about the time it took to kill such a thing.

"How much do you lot trust what the guard said about these being provided to them by one of the Angels? Personally, I don't believe it. That would imply cooperation between Demons and Angels and that's never happened before to my knowledge. I think they some how stole them, or given the quantity on hand, stole the means to make them, cause the implications of the Angels taking Lucifer's side in this is more then a little troubling."

After that the others started into a long conversation about whether the demon for his information were trustworthy enough. Personally Mirabelle did not know enough to chime in so instead she set to gathering up crystals as well.
Of course, she didn't stop listening to them talk, especially since they seemed to be making some head way in theories now that Vik and Karis weren't at each others throats. Of course, the thought of angels working with demons still seemed a bit farfetched, but she could see it happening now once she applied Viktor's theory to the idea. It made sense why they would be helping the demons at least.

Waiting for them to continue, Mirabelle looked over to the dead mind flayer's body and began thinking to herself. She wondered what type of materials she could get from it, or if they could be of any use currently. Of course, she was a bit afraid of getting Seth annoyed at her, it being his summon after all. Still, he did spit on it and seem to be angry at it's betrayal so she assumed that he wouldn't mind her taking it and breaking it down....of course her friends would probably think otherwise but she was confident that she could explain the situation to them and get them to understand.

Getting to a point where she was confident that her friends could finish with little problem, Mirabelle paused and finished up her work with the crystals. Once that was done, she headed over and grabbed Joachim's body, saying to herself, "Waste not, want not," and setting it near the entrance where she wouldn't forget it.

Lost Gate

"If that's the case" Karis said, starting with Viktor. "We should assume it's some one they don't know, rather then some one confirmed to have been on his side during his fall. A 'Sleeper Agent' or a 'Sleeper Cell', or maybe a Sympathizer, ether way I doubt it's some one they know was on his side and changed sides once things started going poorly for them. Figure such traitors would be under surveillance."

"Though that also raises the question of 'should an attempt even be made' to contact them." Karis said, starting to reply to Daniel, when Seth came back. "Transport is on the way. Should be here shortly." Though Seth did ask what Mirabelle was doing and planning with the Mind Flayer's corpse, and once he got the answer from her, he just gave a cruel grin and told her to 'do as she pleased' with the remains of the Mind Flayer. Clearly Seth was not one to take betrayal lightly.

and sure enough, not five minutes later, the team sent to collect the crystals had come to pick up them and the team, as well as a new team to monitor the gate, just in case.

Forward Base

The base was still going up when they arrived. All the important stuff such as coms and medical where up and running and the 'command tent' was also up and running. Daughtry and Alexander greeting them so he could get a more in depth report from them, though Alexander explained he was here so the Queens could be kept up on what ever they found on this side of things, and he didn't like what he heard. "So, what is the likely hood of this 'Sleeper Cell' Karis theorized on, and what is the likely hood of getting any meaningful aid from them?" With Alexander dropping by as he finished.

Sierra's Hospital Room

"And that is the deal Ms. Talon." A female demon, sporting the crest of the Queens on what was very clearly a scientific or 'science' related uniform of some kind said. "So, just to confirm I have this straight, You, meaning Riviera, want me, to help you unlock some ruins because they have some Aetheric form of a Bio-metric lock on them. A lock that I just so happen to be the 'key for'." "Correct, though as I mentioned before, you are but one of many such 'keys', in fact we found another 'key' to the lock your compatible with just the other week." Sierra raise an eyebrow to that. "If you already have some one else, why are you asking me then?" "Simple" the Demoness started "You are more likely to accept then the other 'Key'. There are complications with recruiting the other key, complications that would be best avoided." the Demoness said, though her tone and mannerisms suggest the complications where a very big problem and she really did not want to even start jumping through those hoops to try and get this person, probably life threatening 'complications' as this Demoness really did not seem the type to be able to defend her self well.

Sierra really wanted to say 'no, go get this other person to unlock your doors.' but since part of the reward for helping was she would get a 'cut' of what ever was found, be it knowledge, wealth or power, not to mention, protection for her self and her loved ones back home from further threat of demonic attack. More over, the ruins had the same writing as that bullet, thus giving her the opportunity to learn more about that, and that was intel they would need in the future.

"Indeed you have a point Viktor, after all, the road to hell is paved with good intentions as someone once said. As for making contact with those above, there are not many methods one could employ to do such a thing; at least, not with what we currently possess. Even then, they'd still have to pick up the phone so to speak."

As the rush from combat and the demon blood began to wear down, he felt it growing difficult to not go off on Seth at that very moment, but he was able to keep a lid on it for the moment. ?I doubt there be much ?direct? contact?like you said, those avenues are limited; but third parties, ?dead drops? and the like in this world would let them communicate on a semi-regular basis. I?ve had plenty of experience with that kind of covert communications.?

While the others ?policed up? the place, Viktor moved back towards the entrance to keep watch?just in case. Fortunately there were no further complications, though just why their own little automaton was carting off the battered remains of the mind flayer caused him to raise an eyebrow.

Now

He?d spent the whole trip to the forward base glaring at the back of Seth?s head. Karis may be an utter and unbearable asshole, but he?s not STUPID! He seethed. the appearance of the cat-demon didn?t do much to help his mood. The others were talking, but all he could do was glare at the over grown belt, and after a moment or two of ?consideration?, he stalked over to Seth and without warning drove his massive fist into the side of Seth?s head, swinging from the demon?s blind spot. He and the demon were roughly the same height, but Viktor out massed Seth?s human body by a considerable margin.

?WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING!?? He bellowed, his accent thickening as his control slipped. Reaching down, he gripped Seth by the front of his coat and hauled him back up to eye level. ?You potentially compromised what little integrity the circus has and put everyone at risk by bringing that thing in.? Part of him REALLY wanted to start hitting Seth, and not stop until he was too tired to raise his arm; instead, he merely pushed Seth away, letting the demon find his feet. ?I?ve made no bones about what I think of demons, and shit like what you pulled justifies that?but anybody with two brain cells to rub together knows you can?t trust mind flayers?EVER! I?d sooner trust Karis to watch my back in a firefight, than trust one of those things to pass me the salt.?

With that, he turned on his heal and stalked off before he actually tried to kill someone, swearing under his breath the whole time.

Tomas

Tomas sighs as he went off from the group. Wanting to be away for a moment and cool off from what happen earlier. Plus he didn't want to be around from the look Viktor was giving Seth. Giving his report before leaving as he head off to get something to eat. It been a while since he ate anything and he rather not go hungry until after the next mission. Getting whatever they had set up for food as he grab a plateful and went off to a table. Enjoying his meal alone.

William

William kept mostly to himself as they travel back to the forward base. He kept looking over at Viktor, and he wanted to say something but he kept silent. He knew something was going to happen soon but he just didn't know what to say to keep Viktor calm. Sighing as he just let it slide. Perhaps it would be better if Viktor let it out instead brushing it aisde, William thought.

Once they got to the base he gave his report quietly and went off. Trying to be unnoticed as he try to find a quiet spot to think. Sitting down and leaning back against the wall. Sighing once more as he close his eyes. So many things going through his head. Will they make it in time? If not, can they put a stop it it? Is this team even going to make it? William didn't know the answer, nor did he really want to find out at this moment.

"I've made no bones about what I think of demons, and shit like what you pulled justifies that...but anybody with two brain cells to rub together knows you can't trust mind flayers...EVER! I'd sooner trust Karis to watch my back in a firefight, than trust one of those things to pass me the salt."

Well someone is in a pissy mood, Juliet thought to herself, somewhat amused. Of course you don't trust a mind flayer, that's how you deal with one, with many people actually. Doesn't mean you can't gain an advantage by dealing with one. Of course that wasn't terribly important to her right now. Of somewhat greater importance was Viktor's frustration and how he was currently alone.

I'd almost managed to get through his thick skull last time, probably would have succeeded if not for Karis, now's my chance to finish that. The fact that he was frustrated would make things easier as well, frustration was a breaking point after all one way or the other.

"Viktor," she said, walking after him "I'd like to talk."

That will get his attention, likely he'll begin coming up with some refusal.

"Look I get it, Karis is an ass and Seth was an idiot back there," she said "which I'm sure has done nothing but reinforce your stupid prejudice against my kind, which believe me I understand I grew up surrounded by demons."

She took a breath then continued "But you and I both know that holding that against me is a load of shit and I'm getting sick of hearing it, so I'm here to ask for you to knock it off. I've done nothing to earn this attitude of yours and you know it."

And now another nail in the coffin.

"I don't know who hurt you in the past to make you behave like this, but I do know that if you keep projecting them onto me all you're doing is keeping that hurt alive, letting them win," she said "and I can't claim to know you well, but I know you hate losing, and I'd wager you'd especially hate losing to them."

The feeling in his chest was one he usually repressed, never letting it grow beyond a mere irritation, a tinge in the back of his mind. To Sol, it brought back memories of getting black-out drunk just to have fun, and his older brother, usually high, shaking him, furious that he dared getting drunk to escape his problems, just like their father did. It wasn't the same, Sol was careful, but Sam had never gotten that.

Sol knew he wasn't the most unfortunate soul in the world, far from it. He knew that he had at least his brother, at least had somewhere to sleep, and something to eat. No one had hurt him -well, apart from when his brother nearly broke his arm-, and he had picked himself up. Found people and faith to rely on. It didn't really make it better. He wanted to forget it, or rather, he wanted to be able to face it, but forgetting it was more pleasant. It was part of his past, sure, but he didn't need his job reminding him of it, he didn't need people fighting for petty reasons, not listening to one another, truly hating each other, if only for that moment.

Sol withdrew from the others as soon as he could. He had no need to talk about what had happened, he just needed to be able to calm down. At first, he considered just getting himself checked up at the medical facility, but he hadn't gotten hurt, so he decided against it. Besides, it didn't feel like it was far enough away. The group was already splitting up, and he wanted to go somewhere where no one would find him. He had things that worried him, but none of that was important. Besides, regarding the angels and the crystals, he wasn't supposed to worry about whether God had sold them out or not. Either God was uninvolved, or he had become a god that Sol would not want to rely on. "Simple" as that.

It should be fine to just go for a walk.

Swiping a bottle of water and some food masterfully -hoping that it was intended for them, and that he hadn't just stolen someone's lunch- he started walking away from the camp, to somewhere he could sit in the shade, perhaps climb up a tree and sit there, and think about nothing. Sleep, perhaps, after eating the food.

Sleep sounds good. Too bad Luke isn't here to make it softer.

He stopped after a moment, and gave a small snort of disgust. Should?ve called in and bailed the moment I saw that reptile. He thought bitterly. Shit always get more complicated when he gets his claws into things. His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of someone approaching from behind, and from the sound of their footfalls, the individual quite a bit shorter than him and fairly light on their feet. Gotta be the whore...what does the ***** want now? He was about to tell Juliet to ?fuck off?, but the succubus spoke up before he could get a word out.

"Viktor, I'd like to talk. Look I get it, Karis is an ass and Seth was an idiot back there, which I'm sure has done nothing but reinforce your stupid prejudice against my kind, which believe me I understand I grew up surrounded by demons."

"But you and I both know that holding that against me is a load of shit and I'm getting sick of hearing it, so I'm here to ask for you to knock it off. I've done nothing to earn this attitude of yours and you know it."

His lips curled into a snarl, and one fist clenched even tighter, but the building fury was blunted by laughter inside his head?that sounded remarkably like his own. You know what?s pissing you off the most? She?s right?this is the exact same thing Vasyli and a dozen others have been saying to you for decades?

"I don't know who hurt you in the past to make you behave like this, but I do know that if you keep projecting them onto me all you're doing is keeping that hurt alive, letting them win, and I can't claim to know you well, but I know you hate losing, and I'd wager you'd especially hate losing to them."

That last bit hurt more than Juliet could?ve realized, but it also seemed to break the spell of anger that had been consuming him. He took a couple of deep, slightly stuttering, breaths and turned to face Juliet. ?You?re right.? He said eventually. ?You?re right and I?m sorry. You?re the first succubus I?ve seen or talked to in fifty something years, and it is unfair of me to tar you with the same brush.? He hadn?t managed to get very far from the base before Juliet had caught up with him, so he made his way over to a nearby crate and sat, waving a hand to at another one, for Juliet to join him.

Smiling slightly, he looked at Juliet and chuckled. ?Karis, Seth and maybe Sierra?I?m pretty sure we?d?ve pissed each other off even if I hadn?t been such a dick;? He said. ?but you? You I lashed out at because of something that you couldn?t have known about.? Sitting back a bit, he closed his eye as he began to dig up old memories.

?Her name was Melina. We met in 1960 when she came to us as a go between for her boss, for a business deal. Long story short, we hit it off, she helped me when a friend was killed in an ambush,? Involuntarily, his eye flicked back towards Karis for an instant. ?and we got close. Needless to say, she was stunning. I?m sure we looked quite comical together, the supermodel and the ogre. Maybe I was naive, succubae aren?t exactly the ?relationship? type usually, but I didn?t care. I?d never had a real relationship, and I had been so angry for so many years, but Meli was able to help me start to move on?? A thick fingered hand rose up to pull the eye patch off his head and rub at the empty socket, while he blinked away moisture in his remaining eye. ?Aaanyways?five years later, we took some time off, a real honest-to-God vacation. Head over to Italy, partying in Milan all that good shit; we were heading back to our hotel, ducked through an alley and I was about to ask her a question?forget what, not that important, when instinct took over and I lunged aside, barely avoiding an eight inch knife to the heart.? With a free hand, Viktor raised his shirt and showed Juliet a wicked scar on his left side just below his ribs.

?I swing about, and there I my dear, sweet Meli with a wicked sharp anti-vamp knife in her hand, and the same blank ?kill-or-be-killed? look in her eyes that I know all too well.? Recounting the fight he slipped into a flat monotone. ?We danced and weaved a bit. She had a blade, I just had my hands. Succubae are fast and tricky, but lack the strength for a stand up brawl. She cut me a couple more times, but eventually I caught her by the wrist and slammed her into a wall, hard enough to crack the concrete?then I fed.? Sitting forward, he looked at her and smiled, his good eye flickering with still raw pain. ?The real kicker? I still don?t know why she attacked me. I wasn?t involved in any overly ?special? projects at the time, and it made things harder for her boss.? With another sigh, he pushed himself to his feet. ?It doesn?t excuse me, but know you know the ?why??I prom- I?ll try to keep myself in check in the future.? He said, wiping his eye. ?For you at least?no guarantees for the other three??
He added with a grin.

"but you? You I lashed out at because of something that you couldn't have known about."

Juliet remained silent as Viktor spoke, somewhat surprised by both how quickly his attitude had shifted and by the story he shared with her. He must have been struggling with this himself, took less pushing than I thought. Still it was both polite and interesting to listen to what he had to say. Succubi, or incubi for that matter, forming an actual romantic attachment was rare but not unheard of. In hell it was often mocked as 'growing too attached to ones food' though a relationship itself was sometimes viewed as a decent way to gain a reliable source of food, particularly in a case like Viktor's where the partner could withstand being fed on frequently much better than a normal human. Of course she wasn't certain it would be in her best interests to share such with Viktor, it could upset him more. Then again knowing it was never special might make him feel some sort of closure, possibly alleviate any suppressed guilt... hm bears thinking about.

"The real kicker? I still don't know why she attacked me. I wasn't involved in any overly 'special' projects at the time, and it made things harder for her boss."

Foolish of her to do so whatever her reasons, in her position there had to be a better opening she could have waited for. Either her boss wanted it done urgently or she... no couldn't be that. Juliet brushed aside the thought of conflicting emotions, certainly they could lead humans and others down foolish courses of action, but a succubus? As for not being much in a stand up brawl... maybe in the human world against a vampire, in the demon realm though things would be more equal.

"For you at least...no guarantees for the other three..."

"I appreciate that," she said, her expression having gradually become more sympathetic as his story had gone on "and I appreciate you sharing this with me, you didn't have to. Don't worry I won't tell anyone, I understand that it must have hurt, being betrayed by someone you were close to."

She sat down next to him and set a hand comfortingly on the vampire's shoulder.

"Anyways I appreciate you being a bigger man about this," she said "most people won't listen to anything I say once they've decided to judge me for what I am. And if you ever want to talk to someone about Melina or anything else I'm happy to listen, I never knew her but who knows maybe I could help you figure something out, or just be a good listener, I know that can help."

Forward Base

As Viktor stormed out of the tent, Seth picked him self up off the floor. While Seth picked him self off the floor Karis pulled him helm off, and set it down. "The Vampire is right you know. More over, you of all people should know better. What is this? Like the twelfth of these fucking things you've had dealings with that you, or some one under you have had to kill cause they turned on you." Karis said, then locked eyes with Seth a moment, he knew that look. "Really Seth, this is a 'pride' issue for you? We don't have time for you wounded ego, so just get over it and get your head on right."

Seth just dusted him self off. "Like your one to talk. You tossed your responsibility's aside for revenge. You not only got your self killed, you cost your Ravens a strong leader, a powerful asset in the form of you fighting in the field, and whole a list of other problems you going off on Ansoth's brother caused, and that's not even getting to the problems you ended up causing Sierra and every one around her."

"That's hardly the same thing as you knowingly summoning some one you knew in all likely hood you would have to kill before the end of the day. Your smarter then that, and more importantly I've seen you keep your ego in check before, so lets hear it. What set you off to the point you would do something so stupid as you did today."

Seth rubbed the side of his head where Viktor had slugged him. "My organization has been compromised by these upstarts. Almost all of my people here, helping in this, are all the ones I can trust, the ones that aren't here, are busy 'cleaning house' and seeing just how deep they got. Needless to say, I'm expecting to have a need for a lot of new personnel after this. So yeah, I'm a touch pissed off at the moment."

"Doesn't excuse you endangering your team like that." Karis said, crossing his arms. "And I know you care at least a little for your underlings, you wouldn't pay them what you did and offer the benefits packages you do if you didn't." Karis, having really said all he intended to turned and left the tent for now.

Seth just sighed, looked at Daughtry and Alexander. "You should report back Alex. With the Gate sealed up, our hands are tied for the moment. Maybe the Queens can do something, ether way, they need to know 'Lucy' is on his way back." Alexander nodded and vanished.

"You should get that looked at." Daughtry said. "Nah, it'll be fine." Seth said, as a bit of blood ran down the side of his head. "Hurts like a ***** though." Seth said, then him self left the tent, leaving Daughtry to his own duty's for now.

Sierra, having released her self with out telling the staff, since they would wanna do something silly like 'stop her', was walking toward the Gungnir parking lots to get a ride to this forward base she remembered Karis mentioning earlier when she spotted Lenah, with some one else, and Lenah looking a bit on the drunk side.

"Should probably slow down on that" Sierra said, walking up to the pair, not looking terribly 'well' over all, but not bad enough to question why she was still standing. Though she did give a little 'hey' wave to the person with Lenah. "Besides, isn't it a bit to early to be hitting the sauce?"

Solomon

After finishing his meal, Sol closed his eyes. He had found a nearby tree with a neat spot for sitting, and he was up there. It was quite the good place for scouting, if he wanted to. However, he decided he would rather rest. Pushing his hat down over his eyes, he made sure to settle safely in on the branch, putting his arm around a nearby one in case he moved in his sleep. He was, after all, not unfamiliar with how far down a fall like this could be, especially when sleeping. He had been lucky to only get a bruise back then.

Especially considering I was waiting for a target.

Using his scarf to make himself more comfortable, he then -mostly jokingly- hummed a soft tune to himself, slowly falling asleep.

Lenah

"Should probably slow down on that. Besides, isn't it a bit to early to be hitting the sauce?"

"You don't know my life," Lenah said, sticking her tongue out and taking another sip. Whatever jealousy she had towards Sierra was unimportant now. Besides, Lenah was usually in a more pleasant mood with some alcohol running through her veins. "And I'm fine, really. Not like I've got any classes today either way. Especially not since I'm supposed to still be in hospital... speaking of which." She pointed at Sierra.

"Aren't you supposed to be in hospital? Why would you be out? Unless... you've become a rebel, like me!" She chuckled.

"Would this girl know where Sol is?" Sol's master asked. Lenah tilted her head.

"I'm not sure, she's been put in hospital, but I think she's still in on the "loop". Might as well ask her. Oh, but first, introductions. This is Sierra," she pointed at Sierra, then back at Sol's master.

"And this leather-coat lady is Sol's master, uhm..." She couldn't quite remember the name, though she knew that it ended with "Thorn". In response, the auburn-haired woman smiled, though it was clear she had little patience with the situation so far.

"Elizabeth. Elizabeth Thorn. I have business with both Sol and whoever employs him, this "Seth". According to Lenah, he's a slippery snake, which is not the kind of person I will let my student work for. Do you know where they are?"

Hearing her remark repeated, Lenah just shrugged. It was no secret by now that she had little love for Seth.

"What she said," she just said. "It'd really help us if you knew."

He couldn?t help but flinch a tiny bit when Juliet placed a hand on his shoulder; old habits and all that. As he re-settled himself and put the eye patch back on over the empty socket, he looked at Juliet and saw the sympathy and concern in her very lovely face. Wonder if it?s real? He thought. I wonder if any of it was real? Shaking himself with an annoyed grunt, he patted Juliet?s hand in thanks and stood up; now wasn?t the time to be digger any deeper at old wounds.

?I don?t know about being a ?bigger man??? He said with a chuckle. ?If that was true I wouldn?t have let it get this far; but anyways, thank you for listening?and for calling me on my bullshit.? Stretching a bit, he straightened his clothes and turned back towards the main body of the camp. Should find William?speaking of. ?One small favour.? He said to Juliet, before moving off. ?Go easy on William, we both know how easy prey someone like he is to a ?woman? of your talents.? With that, he gave Juliet a slight bow, then went to look for William.

William sigh as he was thinking things over. Today wasn't going well at all today. From the fighting and finding out one of the biggest demons might be coming back. It seem like nothing could go right. William had his knees pulled back to his chest. Hugging them tightly as he lightly cried into his knees.

It could always be worst, he thought bitterly. You could still be a young defenseless kid against your father. Shuddering at the thought as he look up. Seeing Viktor looking around and seeing him spot himself. Lightly sighing as he thought maybe he should just get up and walk away before Viktor came over. Though he push that idea aside. Viktor was still a friend, even if he was acting like a dick earlier. Though he didn't put that much blame on him, as he did with the demon Karis.

Once Viktor was close, William lightly smiled and said "h-hey..." though it came out a bit weakly.

Sierra

"Aren't you supposed to be in hospital? Why would you be out? Unless... you've become a rebel, like me!"

"Pff, it's hardly 'rebelling' in your case, you shouldn't have been in long as you where. As for me. I got shit to do, people to see, demons to possibly yell at. Can't let a minor thing like almost getting cut in two slow me down, 'tiss just a flash wound' after all."

"Elizabeth. Elizabeth Thorn. I have business with both Sol and whoever employs him, this "Seth". According to Lenah, he's a slippery snake, which is not the kind of person I will let my student work for. Do you know where they are?" the 'Van Hellsing' looking woman said.

Sierra shrugged. "The over sized Handbag and matching Boots and Belt is, in all likely hood where I'm going. Even if he isn't, Sol should be there." She said, taking a breath, and rolling a shoulder. "Though if your going to try and yell at Seth, your gonna be wasting your time. Seth isn't the type to listen unless he feels it's important."
