"Oh, hi Jarrah," Lenah replied. Jarrah noticed the slight edge to her voice, though he figured talking to Seth might have that effect on people, at least if Viktor was any indication. Not that it lasted long, as she seemed to become more and more energetic with each passing word. More energetic then he would expect someone who just got out of the infirmary after being laided up with broken ribs, though he chalked that up to whatever natural magic came with being a nymph and whatever afforded her her bountiful amount of energy.

"So, how have you been? I heard that you guys got to do a super-fun mission while I was out sick, how unfair," She continued, hopefully too preoccupied talking to notice the annoyed look that crossed his features when she mentioned the 'super-fun' mission. However, it lasted about as long as that topic of conversation, and when she mentioned Sol's visits Jarrah resisted the urge to bury his face in the palm of his hand for a second time in as many minutes. He hadn't visited her once! Obviously he had wondered, during her stay in the sickbay, how she was going, and he had meant to visit, he rationalized, but between everything he just hadn't found the time. That said, if she didn't mention him not visiting, he certainly wasn't going to bring it up. As it was, he smiled when she mentioned that Sol asked her to spy on Sierra, especially seeing as she was now out of the infirmary, unlike the half demon.

"Oh! Also, Sierra's fine, if you haven't heard. Seth says her demonic presence has been stolen, though, like, taken out of her, but she didn't believe me when I tried to tell her."

It was good to have an update on Sierra, though one thing confused him. "Stolen?" Jarrah repeated, mostly to himself, "That's...probably not good." Stating the obvious, yes, but saying it out loud helped concrete the fact in Jarrah's mind. He was tempted to ask Lenah how such a thing was possible, but he realized Seth would probably tell the group the answer that very question soon enough anyway. If not, well he could always ask him.

"Anyway, I've been, good, I guess. I don't know what Sol told you, but 'super-fun' isn't the way I would have described our mission to be honest." He said, circling back to Lenah's earlier question. Not wanting to dwell on the mission however, he quickly changed the subject. "So, how do you know Solomon then?"

While, in Tim's words, Jarrah could be a little 'dopey' at times, there were situations that he could be surprisingly intuitive. He had thought it was convenient that Solomon showed up to replace Lenah so soon after she was injured, and going on what Lenah said, they were obviously mates so, he guessed, that she had some part in bringing him here. So naturally he was curious to how a Hunter and Nymph would be on such good terms.

Tomas

Tomas was surprised to see William here since he didn't know her that well. Though he guess it was better that he was checking up on a teammate who was down for a bit. "Glad you can join us.." Tomas said, saying something for the first time to William. He knew he wasn't very nice to the kid but he thought he wouldn't last long and quit. So far he stuck with them and seem to be wanting to stay until the end.

William

William took a deep breath and calmly fully walk inside and close the door. hearing both of them as he smile lightly. Glad to be around others on the team who seem to be nice. "T-thanks Tomas..and Y-yeah Sierra...hung out with Viktor a bit before getting a text saying that you were up. H-how are you feeling?" He ask as he look her over. Wondering if she was alright or was suffering at all.

Mirabelle arrived at the library quickly enough, though it took her a moment to figure out where she would possibly get the information she sought. It didn't help that her mind was still lingering on just who the guy who helped Sierra was and how much of Viktor knew of him, somewhat distracting her from her goal. Still, even without fully focusing she could guess what she should try first. Just get a book on demon anatomy or varieties of demons or some such and begin reading. Hopefully, she would be able to gauge where to look next using the info (or lack there of) she got from it...hopefully.

Going through a couple of sections, she grabbed a few books that she felt relevent to the situation before sitting down, opening them and looking for parts that seemed to approach the subject matter at hand, using whatever table of contents or glossary they had. Of course, it may have been helpful to read them from cover to cover...but at it was, she felt pressed for time and besides, she wanted to get this done real quick before the next mystery or whatever other form of curveball came, forcing her to lose track of it while trying to deal with that one. Unfortunately, all of the power reading left her attention to the world around her wanting, so she didn't notice for a couple of moments that Viktor had walked through the door.

Flipping the last book closed, she got up and started moving to return them, not finding anything really of use in those though the did help narrow her focus a bit. That's when she finally noticed Viktor at the door. She found it odd to see him there since, to her, something about him made him seem to be...not a big book lover. She wondered for a second if he needed to look for information as well...before remembering that she had something to ask him. Figuring that she would be able to return to her research afterwards, she approached him, hoping that he would be able to at least clarify some things.

Calmly considering what she would say, Mirabelle decided to not spring her questions on him immediately, especially since they hadn't really talked much so she started out by saying, "Hi Viktor...uh, were you looking for something? Or did you just want to read?"

"Hi Viktor...uh, were you looking for something? Or did you just want to read?"

?Mmm?? It took him a moment to look up from the index he?d been searching through. ?Oh, hello Mirabelle.? He said finally. ?A little of both I guess; I?m trying to find a copy of The Illiad. I was about half way through it when I got sent out here, and I?d like to finish it.? Though, He thought. it won?t be the same as reading it and being able to discuss it with someone who was around when it was a new release. ?What brings you to the library??

"Regarding my powers on the other hand, well, the focus of it is card manipulation. I make use of special playing cards in the form of a projectile attack; but also they're imbued with certain abilities to help out with encounters. Think of it as like being Gambit from the X-Men comics, though not as snappy a dresser."

Gambit? That's some comic book character right? Well whatever seems like he'll be working with us on whatever our next objective is. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough. A few other comments and questions formed in her head, but were discarded when she noticed something happening close by.

"Well then," she said "isn't that Seth over there? Talking to a panther in a suit of all things."

She glanced back at Daniel "why don't we go say hi? I bet they're talking about something interesting."

Probably even related to what you're here for.

"Well, I usually come here whenever I am not busy...though today has forced me to seek some specific information." Mirabelle hesitated for a moment after that, wondering if it was her place to tell him what had happened. Still, Viktor would find out sooner or later...besides, it may just help in getting him to tell her whatever information she needed. Continuing on she leaned closer and said quietly, so that no one who Sierra may have ticked off could her, "I was finally able to get in to see Sierra. She is...fine, it seems, though there has been a new development. It would seem that she has lost her "Demonic presence", or rather, Seth believes it was stolen by someone. Someone powerful."

"Unfortunately, he didn't to into detail on what a "Demonic presence" was when he talked about it, though he seemed to imply that full blooded demons have it too. That's why I am here, looking through demon anatomy books and the like while Seth looks into who could have done it, I guess."

Thinking on how she would phrase it, she finally continued, saying, "Um...can I ask you something? Just for some information on a theory Lenah consieved on the subject. And also, could we maybe move to a place we are less...overhearable? I am sorry for the inconvenience."

Mira?s comment about Sierra ?losing? her demonic side caught him off guard. Swearing under his breath, the good mood he?d built up hanging out with William, Solomon and Luke, faded a bit. ?I thought the only way you could ?remove? something like that was to kill them?? He said finally. This was not a welcome development.

"Unfortunately, he didn't go into detail on what a "Demonic presence" was when he talked about it, though he seemed to imply that full blooded demons have it too. That's why I am here, looking through demon anatomy books and the like while Seth looks into who could have done it, I guess."

?Well best of luck to you.? He replied. ?Don?t know a whole lot about that myself, so I can?t help you there.? Shit, I guess I should go talk to Sierra sooner rather than later. He thought.

"Um...can I ask you something? Just for some information on a theory Lenah conceived on the subject. And also, could we maybe move to a place we are less...overhearable? I am sorry for the inconvenience."

?Yeah, standing by the front desk isn?t exactly the most private spot.? He quipped. Wending his way through the stacks, Viktor and Mirabelle made their way to an unoccupied study area near the back of the library. Easing his way into a comfy seat, he looked at her. ?So, what can I do for you??

"Well then," Spoke Juliet after Daniel's brief summary of his powers. "isn't that Seth over there? Talking to a panther in a suit of all things." That somewhat surprised Daniel when the Succubus said it, but sure enough, the Angel looked over towards the fountain and saw that Seth was actually talking to a Panther dressed up in a suit.

At least I know it isn't the Vodka from earlier screwing around with me head; otherwise I'd be thinking I was in Wonderland.

"Why don't we go say hi? I bet they're talking about something interesting." Juliet then suggested with a glance.

"Could do that, though it seems like the pair of them are already entertaining Solomon at the moment. How about we listen in on them?"

Sierra
"T-thanks Tomas..and Y-yeah Sierra...hung out with Viktor a bit before getting a text saying that you were up. H-how are you feeling?"

"Like I got cut open." Sierra snarked. "I hurt, but it's nothing I need painkillers for just yet. My Demon Powers have cause me far more pain then this." she added, rubbing her chest along the cut. "I'll be fine though. Sorry to ruin your good time though. Oh, by the way, Lenah is up and apparently in good enough health to move around again, but she's being transferred to a different project, donno what though."

Seth
"So, I hadn't expected you to interrupt my date just so that you could have a conversation with another person. I do hope you understand that, right?" Sol said in an amused tone as he walked up "Anyways, what do you want? We were to discuss my position here and possible pay, isn't that so? So, what exactly did you have in mind?" Sol continued, arms crossed and impatient.

Seth just shrugged "For once a politician decided to move at something other the pace of a stoned snail in molasses in the middle of winter." he snarked and motioned to the Panther demon. " 'Kitty Mc Whiskers, Destroyer of Curtains.' here is a messenger from Queen Riviera, one of the Greater Demon Lords." Alexander made an annoyed face at the the way Seth introduced him to Sol. "You will refer to me as Alexander, or not at all human" Seth just smirked at Alexander less then pleased tone.

Seth then produced a folder from his suit jacket, and handed it to Sol. "As for your team status and potential pay. Well that depends on what you would expect as payment." The folder contained the kind of brochures you'd expect a college recruiter to hand out. "There's signing on as a student. A side classes for the non-human students relating a better understand of what they are, there are also normal classes for those who can't hide what they are. So there's the offer of a higher education if that interests you at all, and on some one else's dime no less. If it's just money." Seth punched a number into his phone, and showed it to Sol. "How's that sound?"

Alexander coughed in that 'you forgetting some one' manner. "As for you, I'll just jump right to the point. I'm after a list of enemy's, recently slayn by, or in the name of the Queens, that would have had access to the resources needed to grow a Gate, and would have had no qualms in using the 'Rebirth' Arcanum." Seth Said as he gave Sol a moment to ponder the offers.

"I see" The Panther started "I assume then your having difficulty's with some one you believe would be on such a list?" The Panther's tail flicked back and forth. "Interesting if true." The cat's eyes flicked to Sol, then back to Seth. "I sense there is more to this then just that. Conclude your business with the mortal, and we shall continue this talk some place with out so many ears."

" 'Kitty Mc Whiskers, Destroyer of Curtains.' here is a messenger from Queen Riviera, one of the Greater Demon Lords."

"You will refer to me as Alexander, or not at all human"

Sol gave a curt nod, and smiled. "Got it, Alexander."

Destroyer of curtains, huh. That doesn't really sound very dangerous, I wonder if Seth makes a habit of insulting other demons.

More interestingly, why had Seth chosen to double-book while talking to the messenger of a greater Demon Lord?

"As for your team status and potential pay. Well that depends on what you would expect as payment. There's signing on as a student. A side classes for the non-human students relating a better understand of what they are, there are also normal classes for those who can't hide what they are. So there's the offer of a higher education if that interests you at all, and on some one else's dime no less. If it's just money."

Sol looked through the folder, and at the phone with the numbers. The pay wasn't bad, but something in the back of his mind made him look through the brochures another time. Perhaps it was because he wanted to stay for a bit, and see what happened with Luke, as well as the others. Or perhaps it was simply curiosity.

"How's that sound?"

"The pay is okay, I suppose, but if I choose the education... I only have a primary school education, is that fine?" he tilted his head. "I mean, I wasn't really concerned with school back then, so I dropped out when I was fourteen. Also," he kept reading the documents. "Are living costs covered? Food, drinks, a place to sleep, and all that? Can I request an extra large bed?" he said with a grin, ignoring the question creeping up in his mind; could he really take a break from being an hunter?

Lenah

"Anyway, I've been, good, I guess. I don't know what Sol told you, but 'super-fun' isn't the way I would have described our mission to be honest."

"Sol said something akin to that, but, you know, when you're stuck in a hospital bed, everything sounds fun," Lenah replied, stretching as she did. It caused something to ache, but not enough for her to take it as a warning sign. Probably because she couldn't really feel it hurt.

"So, how do you know Solomon then?"

"Me and Sol?" she asked, then chuckled, softly. "Well, it's a long story, but basically, he poured half a bottle of holy water over me. That's how it started, anyhow, mistook me for some sort of possessed girl. I suppose I can't blame him, I was sitting in the grass, without shoes, and talking. Not to myself, to the plants..." she looked at Jarrah.

"Anyways, I caught his feet in a palm, like, the tree, and then I hoisted him up. He explained who and what he was, and I gave him a few pointers to who he was really looking for, because I remembered having seen a girl not acting right, and he bought me some alcohol. And then we got super-drunk," she smiled at the thought of it.

"And... well, after that, we've been friends. It was something like 4 years ago, Sol was just starting out as a hunter, and I was studying in the US, and, you know, he had no reason to hunt me, so we became friends instead. He's sort of like that, as long as you're not the creature he was paid to take out, he'll be your friend. I liked that."

She examined Jarrah for his reaction, then spoke again.

"So, what creature are you, really? Like, a Yowie or something, right? Is that like, a Yeti? I don't mean to be rude, but I figured I might as well ask now, since we've not talked a lot before."

Thankfully Viktor agreed with her suggestion and they moved to a place near the back of the library, away from any prying ears. Once he sat down, he looked over and asked, "So, what can I do for you?"

Feeling a bit odd about being the only one standing up, she decided to take a seat too. She composed her questions, thinking over whether she should ask some of them or hold off, before saying, "Well, for one, Lenah got some second hand information about somebody apparently coming back with Sierra. She came up with a theory about that, one that I think holds weight with the knowledge at hand. She thinks that that person may have been there and helped her out just to make sure the fight didn't get too out of hand, allowing them to steal her "presence" when she was incapacitated and recovering. I asked the receptionist about this and they pointed me to you about it so I wanted to ask, you wouldn't have happened to have met this person, would you? If you did, do you think that they could have done something like this?"

?Lenah? She?s the dryad, right? Got laid up in Medical before the first mission?? He said, after Mirabelle had finished. ?Well she is right about me picking up a straggler when I went to get Sierra, and in all honesty I?d probably be thinking something similar if I?d been looking at it from her perspective.?

Clasping his hands together, he sort of looked off into the middle distance for a moment. ?His name is Daniel, and he?s a Brit private investigator working for a private UK firm that has an interest in that cult you, Sierra and some others tangled with; but no I don?t think he?s a player in the attack on Sierra. He?s a non-human, despite his current situation, his kind try to have little to do with demons. It?s possible he?s more closely involved, but in my mind, unlikely.?

William

William felt bad for asking how she was shen she went into detail. "oh..sorry for asking..probably didn't want to talk about it.." he said while his voice got quieter as he was talking. "Oh and don't worry about interrupting my day! it was to see a wounded teammate..Wish I could have had time to check on Lenah as well when she was in here...but with the missions going on.." He said with a sigh.

William than saw Tomas shook his head at the mention of Lenah. "She seem a bit reckless in jumping out the window though..." Tomas said as William was shocked to hear that. "What? why..why would she do that?" he ask as it didn't seem she would do something like that on her own. At least from the few times he met her.

As Viktor paused, Mira wondered if she should specify that Lenah was a Nymph, not a Dryad but decided against it. After all, she was looking into something that both her and Lenah were wondering about, surely she would forgive her for not correcting such a thing when it could risk getting that knowledge. Still, she could correct him later...assuming that she didn't lose track of it while she processed all that she was learning.

"His name is Daniel, and he's a Brit private investigator working for a private UK firm that has an interest in that cult you, Sierra and some others tangled with; but no I don't think he's a player in the attack on Sierra. "Ok, thank you. I'll trust your judgement on this Daniel then." She said graciously. She did wonder about what Viktor meant by his kind when he talked of Daniel...but she decided not to question it. After all, it could just be that he just didn't know what his kind was outside of 'not demon', as much as it could be him intentionally keeping her in the dark about it. Either way, it didn't seem like something worth pursuing, especially if his kind were a kind of creature that she had no knowledge of.

"Um...ok then. Continuing on, did you happen to learn of anything about her attackers from Daniel or Sierra? ...Assuming she was conscious of course. Also, did you happen to bring back any of her attackers bodies?" she said, remembering the bodies being escorted away from the direction of Sierra's room.

?Sierra was still conscious when I got there. All she could say for sure was that they were demon, and that they were good; the attackers left before I arrived.? Why did she think there were bodies? ?What gave you the impression that I, or anyone else, had killed any of Sierra?s attackers?? He asked, a tad confused. Rumors like that could be trouble some?

"Sierra was still conscious when I got there. All she could say for sure was that they were demon, and that they were good; the attackers left before I arrived."

'More kindling to the fire...' Mira thought to herself. Now she was almost certain that the corpses she had seen when she first came to the medical building were in fact the same corpses of the beings that attacked Sierra. It made sense considering the information that she had gotten, explaining the reason why the nurse thought Sierra had been attacked, and Lenah believing that the corpses were from the fight before. Of course, she didn't dilude herself into thinking that any of this was inherently concrete or truly substansial but considering that currently she could only work with second hand information from a source who admittedly had no reason to lie, she believed that it was enough to start speculating with.

"What gave you the impression that I, or anyone else, had killed any of Sierra's attackers?"

"Oh...um, well...when I arrived at the medical center, the staff were removing some fresh demon corpses, or what was left of them, from the direction of Sierra's room. At first I didn't think anything of it but when Lenah mentioned the nurse's believed that Sierra had been attacked, and that the corpses were thought to be involved with the fight before...well, when I asked, I thought that either the demons had come back to finish the job and were killed by the one who stole her "presence", or that the corpses were brought back to try and figure out who sent them and that the nurse's were pointing out the obvious...I guess option one is the most likely now."

Viktor let out a low groan, while removing his eyepatch. Closing his eye, he began to massage the ruined side of his face; one sure sign he was getting stressed was when his wound started to throb, and right now his left ?eye? felt like the morning after a week of binge drinking. Why the hell weren?t there wa-because anti-demon wards are useless if the patient is one as well...idiot ?Thank you for that?I think.? He said finally. ?I?d only heard that her demonic presence was gone, not that there were casualties.? Guess I should go to Medical to see the bodies. His left ?eye? was still throbbing away. ?So then, did you have?anything else you wanted to ask?? He said with a bit of a grimace. Need to talk to Seth too, and see if he can get the Admin to pull their thumbs outta their asses and help.

"Me and Sol?" Lenah asked, before chuckling, "Well, it's a long story...

Jarrah couldn't help bit smile at the Nymph's story. The whole 'fix a misunderstanding with drinks and then become friends' routine was one he was very familiar with, and Jarrah was amused that it was the same as it was in Australia, elsewhere in the world.

"He's sort of like that, as long as you're not the creature he was paid to take out, he'll be your friend. I liked that."

"'s a fair enough policy."

"That's ok, I don't mind you asking." Jarrah said, "I am a Yowie, yea. To give you the cliff notes version, Yowies and Yetis are both subspecies of Homine absconditum, in my case, you are talking to a proud member of Homine absconditum australis."

"Speewah, the Uni I went to in Sydney, had a HUGE library that I may have ended up crashing in more than once." He added, sheepishly.

"Room and board will be party of it. As for prior education, don't worry about it, there are supplementary classes you can take to catch up if need be. Your on your own for the bed though."

Sol grinned. "Cheapskate, you know I have certain needs," he said, with a sarcastic tone. "I do want a fridge, though, a small one in my room. That is for my other needs." With that, he realized that he needed to make an actual decision.

Well... which do I go with?

His expression turned more serious, it was a big decision to make, and a chance he hadn't ever had before. Education. Sol was a hunter, but... he wanted to know what he had missed, what he had lost the chance to do.

"Well... I... I suppose I'll do that, then. The school, I mean. I used to be really good at math, and it might be a decade ago, but I'm still decent at working with numbers." He rubbed his chin. "Well, math and I also want classes on languages, I know the basics of a lot of them, but I don't really speak any beyond English and Latin. And you don't speak Latin either way." He looked over at this Alexander, and added.

"Anyways, that's that, now, if you excuse me, I've got an evening of cuddling waiting for me," he said, and turned to leave. "So I'll leave you to it. Besides, I'll have to make a rather difficult call tomorrow regarding this, so don't be surprised if another Hunter suddenly crashes into the school and demands some answers."

"'s a fair enough policy."

"Well, he says he never planned to become a hunter. Something about not believing that everything non-human is evil. You should ask him once about just why he did it," she said, with a wink. Partly because she wanted to see what would happen if Sol was asked to tell the story -he never liked being reminded of the details-, and partly because she was curious about how people would react. "It's a pretty amusing story."

"That's ok, I don't mind you asking. I am a Yowie, yea. To give you the cliff notes version, Yowies and Yetis are both subspecies of Homine absconditum, in my case, you are talking to a proud member of Homine absconditum australis. "Sydney, huh? I never did end up going to Australia, do you think it'd be worth the trip?" she asked. "I was born in Greece, in this tiny little pond, but it never really was enough for me. So I left, and... well, I never really looked back, you know? I want to experience all there is to experience, though I do think that humans could be more in tune with nature."

She crossed her arms, while she didn't want to go environmentalist on the poor guy, she figured a Yowie might get the point. She decided against continuing, though.

"Anyways, it's been nice talking to you. I was planning on getting some drinks," she said, and fixed her hair. "You're welcome to come along, though. Something tells me you'd be fun to drink with."
