I find this a big credit to Gearbox's integrity as a company. They know that this game has been in the works for fucking ever and that there are a lot of fans who have spent their entire teenage years and into their 20s waiting for the game, but ended up delaying it, why? To make sure that they didn't wait 14 years or whatever to get a bug in the game to kill it, to have a rushed product hit shelves, or to make the Nukem fanbase upset at something that could have been overlooked

There are many studios who would release it because they're afraid of the uproar that might come from a 14 year game being pushed back, but GB at least has the knowledge to know that while it's costing them a bit, and there will be backlash, they're going to push the date back to make sure that the product everyone is waiting for is perfect and ready, good on them for that

Also, from what I've seen, I think at least the Balls of Steel edition might come with the DLC or a code to get it free or something, I'm sensing that at least the new copy will give you something for getting it new

I also must add that I have never played a Duke Nukem game, and I'm buying the BoS edition and have been waiting for this game since I heard it is actually going to be released.

I was hoping it would get delayed. Though I was seeing it more as a one day delay just as a screw you to the fans. Apparently this one is real. I'm still hoping for my one day delay for the new date though. And with mod toold this might actually be good!!

Wait, why give yourself low development time if you knew delay was inevitable? Couldn't he have just posted a later release date?
...ah well. I actually think it's a good sign that Gearbox has at least an illusion of design standard, and they won't release the game before they feel it's ready. I have absolutely no reason to believe it will be a good game, but something i try to keep reminding myself is that Valve time exists because some people feel an early bad game is not an acceptable alternative to a late good game.
...although the development time for Half-Life 2 Episode 3 is starting to remind me of Duke Nukem. Have they given up or are they making a full size game forgetting they switched it to episodic releases?

Editors tools? For PC users? Hmm...as prolific as I was a map maker for Duke 3D I'm willing to go out on a limb and give this game my gut reaction GOTY if I get good mod tools.
Randy has said that there won't be any editor tools straight out of the box. But he says that Gearbox loves the idea and will consider releasing mod tools after the game is released. They mostly want to focus on making the actual game as good as possible, and not use up precious time and resources by making mod tools to release with the game.

Which I can respect. First and foremost I just want to play the game as a long time fan of the duke. Beyond that, dicking around with the game would just make it better for me.

Bah, it's ok, we all waited soooooo long for the game anyways, a few weeks isn't going to hurt, gives me more time on unfinished games anyhow...

I'm honestly glad for this delay. Too many people these days are releasing unfinished games because they're afraid of the stigma and possible negative effects of delaying the game. I'd rather have a polished and playable game later rather than a buggy and unplayable one now.

Besides, with DNF delayed into June, I can get The Witcher 2 in May.
