Or it would keep out everyone who wasn't playing on day 1. If everyone is high level with uber custom layouts and you are stuck with the basics you are toast. And if you only get xp for kills then you will never get up there with everyone else. Everyone should start equal and let skill not equipment or perks decide the winner.Alcookie said:Would be nice, if done well. Would make the ranked matches mean more.
Easy work-arounds for such a thing could be non-stat/equipment matches, or only limiting such elements to single player.squid5580 said:Or it would keep out everyone who wasn't playing on day 1. I'm not saying it's impossible, just that GoW is more likely to alienate (no pun intended) it's current fanbase than expand it. Whilst the rpg idea of an epic story would be a welcome addition I don't think that adding other rpg aspects will improve it much. As I said part GoW's strength is in the set pieces, not leveling up.ChromeAlchemist said:Considering the shift from pure exploration with action elements to a balance, to what appears to be much more action oriented (Deus Ex) perhaps this application of RPG elements would mean that Gears Of War might shift from relentless action to...something else. Only time will tell.
