Gene you better watch that hamburger you just ordered for any other ingredients.
Or check that coffee to see if there wasn't anything 'dropped' in there.
Or watch the contents of your mailbox.
Or..
Or..

Anonymous is everywhere
doesn't Anonymous rarely do anything beyond cyber warfare?

You'd be surprised at what they haven't done... yet

I think this war will take it's general course.

Anonymous will pathetically troll Gene Simmons's YouTube videos, maybe his facebook page. He won't react, and the rest of the internet will either woship Anonymous for being "such 1337 h4ck3r5" or laugh at them for being "the fuckest thing ever".
Exactly. I don't know why people on this forum are so afraid of Anon.
Anon has been in a coma for a long time, if not already dead.

I'm split on this. Part of me feels that mass trolling people who just have different opinions from you is a fairly childish, and slightly dangerous way for things to function

The other part of me reads this "Make sure your brand is protected, be litigious, sue anybody - take their homes, their cars, don't let anybody cross that line," he said at the time. "The music industry was asleep at the wheel and didn't have the balls to go and sue every fresh-faced, freckle-faced college kid who downloaded a clip" and is blown away by the ridiculous stupidity that must be behind this statement.

First of all, I kinda thought Spotify had given most people a clue about where the music industry is headed. As a general rule I prefer that people support their favorite bands by buying their music but doesn't change the fact that anyone can (and usually will) download an album or a film in 15 minutes with todays broadband connections. Those filesharing networks are here to stay. The industry as a whole needs to come up with a whole new business model, and look to the likes of Spotify and Hulu for a solution.

As for the whole Gene Simmons *VS* Anonymous, isn't there a specific internet rule that says "Don't feed the trolls".

Picking a fight with the guys that define internet culture as we know it and has made it their personal playground: Smart move? Highly unlikely.

But I will join all the people here that has already positioned themselves in the corner for a highly entertaining session of lurking and smirking (while possibly taking time-outs to play Fallout: New Vegas).

Interesting. I'm actually not sure who I want to win; I dislike both a great deal....
Yeah, but still. It wouldn't be as cool if /b/ got shut down or something. I'd much rather they own Simmons in some way, even though, like you, I don't like either /b/ or Simmons.

well so much for liking simmons, he sounds like a pretty big dick
Ya, he's a total dick for vowing to go after people who are engaged in illegal activities, including attacking his own site. He should learn that these crimes don't hurt anybody, and that poor college kids can't afford to buy music so should be given it for free.

Oh wait...
He's a dick for saying that he wants people to lose their homes, lose their lives and put them in jail for downloading a song that's worth $0.99
Right because everyone only steals one song, moron. "AW damn i really wanted to donwload ebay by wierd al but i already downloaded i will not bow by breaking benjamin oh well i guess i'm outa luck"

OT: Anon are fucking cowards, i don't like gene simmons but he's in the right here. 99% of the people who are defending anon download music. I don't give a shit about how trivial it is it's breaking the fucking law. It's not bending the rules, it's not twisting the system, it is full on fuck the rules. Why should i be sympathetic to someone who knows they're doing something wrong. I feel sympathetic to the 16 year old driver who didn't know he had to pull over for an emergancy vehicle when he's on the other side of the road because no one taught him.

Go down to your police department and tell them that you have downloaded whatever amount of songs you have if you think it's so trivial. If it's like under 2 or 3 hundred then yah i aggree not a big deal but i'm betting alot of you have downloaded way more then that.

A tornado sweeps through Simmons' garden, so he declares war on it?

He cannot win. I doubt he has much to lose, but his efforts will be futile.

To be honest, he's probably bluffing. He's reported them to the cyber-police, cus they dun goof'd.

I hate people. I really do.
I you recall, it was the music companies that instigated the conflict with an illegal DDoS-ing of the Pirate Bay. Operation Payback is simply retribution to the cheap-ass, hedonistic members of the industry who are afraid to lose a single penny.

Have you heard of the "Sonny Bono law" by chance? That's why we can't have nice things anymore.

You mean seen as a bunch of smelly, crazy stoners who need to get real lives?

Hmm, anonymous strikes again? At least they do it over the important things: Animal and child abusers, the MPAA, Australia, Gene Simmons...
