Men spent the better part of human existence making life horrible for women, and they have every right to tell us about it.
No, men who continue to make life horrible for women deserve to be told about it - those of us who treat women as equals do not deserve an arbitrary dose of vengeance for a past to which we did not and would not contribute.
I don't know if this is what the original commentor meant, but I agree that past mistakes should not be forgotten. It doesn't mean the people living today that happen to belong to the same sex/race/sexual orientation/religion should be held to accountable for it, but these things need to be remembered.
Especially since it's worrysome how often I see people attempting to rewrite history.
For example, people who claim the US should be governed the way it was originally formed arguing that women totally had equal rights. And that whole 'only men can vote' thing actually meant the whole family talked about it together and the men listened to their wives and since women had influence that way, it was totally okay for only men to vote.
(Or that some tribal/ancient religions were some kind of paradise for women)

Donating for cancer research is a waste of money
Why?
Since if this is about the misconception that medical science is not having any progress with treating cancer, you're wrong.
(But if you just don't think cancer-research is worth it, it's your opinion, you're entitled to it. Just wondering why you're especially mentioning cancer)
As for my unpopular opinions, that would depend a lot on the group you're measuring your opinions against. My opinions about how religion sucks, gays and women should have equal rights and that video-games are great are pretty unpopular in some circles I've been a part of, but I can't imagine it being the case here.
So I don't know...
Maybe this; 60's Batman-series; the greatest liveaction version of Batman.
And I think the next Batman-movies should be more colourful and campy. (they should also have character-development and a good plot, though)

GEOLOGY ISN'T A REAL SCIENCE.
Why? Also, what nationality are you? Since that's not an opinion I see here in Finland.
SO I wonder if this is because the teaching of geology sucked in the US at some point, or if the courses in it are really bad/easy over there still.
This just seems such a weird preconception some (American?)people seem to have.
I wonder where it comes from, or if the word 'science' is popularily used over there to just describe physics and chemistry.
