Well, I think that I may like them if I played one. However, I have basically never played an RTS, so I wouldn't know. Also, I am a supporter of simplicity in video games. It's just that I fail to see the point when it comes as to why you would want to play sport or music games.dudeman0001 said:Well, I dislike sports games for the same reasons you listed. Music games are fun, it's hard to explain why though. I guess cuz it's fun keeping a beat and listening to a song you like....but not EVERYONE likes simplicity in games, so I doubt I'll sway your opinion. Do you by any chance like RTS's? You know, command and conquer games?Piotr621 said:Sport and games like Guitar Hero. Why play the sport virtually when you do it in *gasp* REAL LIFE?!? You meet more people and get fit, what's not to like. Also, with music games, same thing. In the long run, doing an actual instrument will help you I think. I myself do guitar and clarinet (and hopefully saxophone soon as well YES). 'Sides, I play games to do things that I can't do in real life.

For me it has to be JRPG's.
From Final Fantasy and it's awful cutesy animé stylings to the Nippon Ichi style, which admittedly are beautifully rendered. I just cannot get into the random battles, especially FFXII which pissed me off no end, and the generally god awful childish Americanised voice work. Today I picked up Eternal Sonata which seems more of the same but is a lot better with the Japanese vocals and I will keep at this one because the story actually seems quite intriguing if nothing else about it is. We shall see.
I love the idea of these games more than the actual execution of the games.
My one exception to the rule is Dragon Quest: JotCK, which has some great voice work and a stunning art style, but once it stopped holding my hand it and left you to it I kind of got lost and don't know where to go...
