FPS. I just can't immerse myself when my character is some twat who holds all of his weapons directly in front of his eye and has no peripheral vision. I like to see what's around me and actually see my character do cool stuff.

Sports games I can't do but unlike seemingly most people on this forum I'm looking forwards to Starcraft 2

Sports games, I guess. Also flight sims, and really flying games in general send me up a wall, though usually I do enjoy a brief flying section in most multi-genre game (excluding Crysis).

Multiplayer-focused FPS games - Repetitive, annoying players, repetitive, dull, repetitive. This is the main reason why I don't think Valve is a developer worth mentioning beyond the first Half-Life and Portal.

Sports games - Since I'm not into sports that much to begin with most of the draw is lost on me by default. It's just a bunch of random guys chasing a ball. I do like the look of Blood Bowl though...

Fighting games - The most content-lacking genre ever. There usually is no content, just a bunch of characters pairing off and hitting each other. Aside from drunk parties, I see no point in playing such games.

Overly realistic flight/driving simulators - Too much realism kills the fun and since I'm not a car/plane/bike/whatever enthusiast the realism doesn't add much for me. A realistic spaceship sim I can get behind, but that's a different bag.

World War 2 games - There is a limited number of times I can storm Normandy, charge into Stalingrad or fight my way across the Green Fields of France before it gets old. And 9 out of 10 WW2 games will focus on that part.

I personally can't seem to get into MMORPGs. There's too much dedication involved with them for too little reward.

Though I don't like racing games, I like them more in the sense of Crash Team Racing (PS1) and the upcoming Split Second. I can't get into indie games, or at least not in a lot of them. MMO's and online-only games are really starting to piss me off.

JRPGs (They don't even deserve RPG as you don't control your characters growoth, your always forced to take on the role of character A who will always level up to have X stats at level Y. And if that makes an RPG then any FPS game where you can upgrade your guns is a JRPG!)

Sports Games (Don't be a puss, go out, make some friends, play some REAL football!)

Fighting Games (Or as I like to call them "Get your ass beat by someone who can tell what move your about to do before you even press the button because he does nothing but memorize the move list 24/7)

Sports games and FPSs. I just find them fiddly. Plus I always lose at RTSs. Also why is it that so many people seem to dislike JRPGs? They've certainly got more appeal than Madden.

JRPGs, SPorts games (Madden, NBA/MLB etc.) and Racing games for me. I mostly stick to FPS, Fighting, and WRPG genres.

I have a hard time getting into any RTS deeper than Civ Rev (which I actually loved). Not that I don't like them, I'm just not so great at doing all the micro management and whatnot so they start to become a chore rather than a fun experience. Oh yeah and JRPGs blah blah blah....

While we're on the topics of genres that you can't get into, I find any form of media portraying Vampires or Werewolves doesn't even register as something I might want to see. I found Underworld and Van Helsing incredibly boring and crappy, and now with this resurgence of 'Vampires in teen angsty love suck suck suck', it's become even worse to the point where I'll switch the channel if I see a commercial for True Blood. With that out there, I hope Benicio Del Toro will make me a believer in Werewolves again.

First person shooters. I can do anything else. I can even do a few sports games. (Admittedly they are Mario Tennis and Snowboard Kids, but they're still sports games damnit.) But i HATE first person shooters. That's the reason for a lot of my rage towards systems like the 360, which i'm told you can't be a harcore gamer without, is that i can find maybe 3 titles that are any good that aren't first person shooters. Right from games like the original Turok i hated them. I liked metroid prime a lot for its general lock on abilities and the fact that it screamed more for adventure than shooting it till it died. But other than that i really don't like it.

Maybe its the weird controls, press the camera stick/buttons to turn your character, look down to make sure you aren't in quicksand, etc.

Maybe its just that i need more from a game than pretty graphics, and in fact if the entire thing isn't blindingly hot pink, hilighter yellow, and maybe a few black stripes here and there i couldn't really give a shit about fancy graphics as long as i enjoy the gameplay and storyline.

Maybe i'm just a "casual gamer" who happens to know the origin of the name of nintendo's top plumber.

a man by the name Mario was the landlord of Nintendo at the time

Or maybe you're just a casual gamer with access to Wikipedia? I kid, I kid.

I like every genre except for JRPGs, I don't know why, but I like the WRPGs better.

I also know the name means "Leave luck to heaven" and that they started out making cards before the technology for games arrived.

Shooters. Partly because they bore me, partly because I have ADD & am far more interested in the scenery than watching my ass, & partly because they always involve unattractive men running around in ugly uniforms. My only exceptions have been Goldeneye & Serious Sam 2. (& if Arkham Asylum somehow counts, tack that on too).

Can't get into multiplayers either. Don't like taking orders, don;t feel like giving them, don't want to follow, don't want to be followed, don;t want to see any text, don't want to share loot.
