Genres you like but suck at

Survival Horror. I love to watch, and even to play some times, but unless it's the newer stuff, I normally get killed pretty quick.

Same here, except my problem is that I am wimpy. I get so scared I can't play for more than a few hours then I leave it alone until I dare play again. Took me a couple weeks to beat Resident Evil 0.

First person shooters. I like to watch them, but I don't play them myself. I know I suck at them, therefore, I avoid them. xD

Also, survival horror to some extent. I'm good at some, horrible at others. I'm looking at you, Silent Hill! I love the series, but can't get through any of the games to save my life.

Strategy RPGs are another one. Like Disgea, Chaos Wars, Resonance of Fate to some extent etc. They're fun and they seem to have great stories, but I'm terrible at them.

RTS..One of my favorite genres but almost afraid to go against another player. I always suggest at LANs that we play as a team against computers.

Hm, I'd say DotA. I am fascinated by the complex tactics and strategy combined with fast paced thinking and acting.

Sadly, After a good while of playing it- I'm still stuck at noob level.

Only asians are truly good at RTS games. Everyone knows that. And that's because they work more like computers than the rest of us.

Diablo style RPGs without respec. I always make some kind of gimped build...

Spent 25 hours with my high elf in Sacred 2 before finding out that it was gimped beyond repair.

That's my greatest fear while playing RPGs. "How will I make a character that won't suck in 20 levels?!"

I am mentally unable to go on at some points, filled with anxiety on whether I am making the right choices or not.

Fighting games. Some have the best art and overall style I've seen in gaming (like Blazblue), but I absolutely need some time to get the moves down.

Also, turn-based strategy/strategy RPG's. I love Fire Emblem and Valkyria Chronicles, but oftentimes it takes me several tries and I constantly cock up tactical decisions (though with the latter game, you're pretty much going in blind with unit choice).

I also love RTS's, but suck at them. I have no strategic thought besides selecting all my troops and telling them to rip off someone's head. Which means I end up losing, a lot. The only way I can win is by "turtling". I build up my army with millions of troops, research every upgrade, and make so many defensive towers that not even God himself could infiltrate my base. Then I select all my units and tell them to go shoot someone. It takes a while, but thats the best I have.

FPS, in any form. I've been trying to play through Uncharted, but despite the fact I LOVE the game, I can only play it for an hour or two a couple days a month. Then I hit a bunch of enemies where my epic-fail at shooting makes me die, get mad, and go do something else.

RTS's for me as well. Love them, but am terrible at them (especially against human players).

I was lucky enough to get invited into the Starcraft Beta. My matches online have thus far been a neverending procession of Fail. It seems I'm terrible at the early game, and defending myself from cheap attacks.

I can do offline.
(Build walls, build army, expand, repeat)
Against people though...

Most genres I suck at are also genres I don't much care for.

I wouldn't call it a genre, but I love the PS2 Grand Theft Auto games (3, Vice City, and San Andreas) despite sucking hard at them.
