Sports and tower defense. Sports because if I wanted to play a sport, I'd just form up with my buddies and go play a pick-up game on some field or something. And Tower Defense... pretty lame.

JRPGs boring, sleep inducing cutscene-fests with turn based combat *shudders*
Same, with one exception. The World Ends With You.

JRPGs, if I wanted to watch an animated movie I'll do that with out all the samey crappy combat that may or may not actually happen in game (I'm convinced the "scene jump" at the start of combat means it's either just in the main character's head or the start of an acid trip)
Racing games, I like driving cars fast and doing racing, but that alone just cannot hold a game together for me
Flight Sims that don't have me doing strafing runs with heavy artillery strapped to my aircraft

I have nothing against genres and gameplay mechanics themselves, but the amount of them and/or their obnoxiousness makes me hate the very sight of them.

Sandboxes - They're fucking everywhere. I understand that linearity can sometimes be a tad restricting, but it has good features too, guys! It shows that the developers took time to carefully craft an experience instead of just dropping you onto a map and telling you to make your own fun! It also means I don't have to traverse the entire fucking Saharan desert every time I want to access an ATM.

First-person shooters - There are just too many of them, and not enough variation to make it reasonable. Surely there is a better way to convey your gameplay experience. Surely I don't have to spend the rest of my life with a gun lodged under my right eye. Surely.

Dialogue box RPG's - I'm sure that's not a genre that any reputable game journalist keeps, but it's going to become one at this rate. Way too many fucking games that are equal parts interaction and eerie, unmoving eye contact as you browse dialogue options like you're playing Windows Explorer: The Game. I understand that you feel this is a lot like human interaction and therefore adds personality to the game, but it's not, and it doesn't.

Any game with female characters dressed like they're in a shitty Japanese porno - Just stop it. It's weird.

Fast moving FPS games, they give me motion sickness. I can play them if they are sneaking around ones which I prefer anyway.
I want to like MMOs but I can't get past the quality of people in them, the grind of the game play and the time commitments. And they are just repetitive...
I am not into sports games either but Lego Soccer Mania is just so cute. >.<

Racing games. I never saw the point in them. Also, sports games. If I want to play a sport, I thin I'll go outside and play a sport.

Sports games. I've never understood what's so fun about them.
Never been a big fan of beat 'em ups either, but I can enjoy the occational fight.

Not that i have anything against them but i can never get into FPS games, I never get a sensation of playing as a person in them.

To me it more feels like driving a car with a gun strapped to the right side of the hood.

It's wierd i know it.

I'm not a huge social gamer, so MMOs, and especially MMORPGs have never appealed to me. I'm also not big on sim or sports games. I have found exceptions to the last two, but not the first (Tropico and PGR respectively).

People that don't like racing games need to try Trackmania and CTR. Those games kick ass.

I hate most FPS's, but just cause I play them at all. I suck. I'm learning TF2 from a couple buds to try and get over it.

A lot of RTS's are just plain boring, as well as sports genre re-releases. Also, some fighter games are just... wow. Like, DBZ fighters were fun in 2005, but rly? After Tenkaichi, it just got... not so good, imo.

My definition of a good game is how well a game answers the question "Would I want to be in this situation?"

Therefore, Most first person shooters I cannot stand.
