At least they aren't blaming Halo or GTA this time. It's a new original idea!

Wait, am I still talking about FOX News? They're just using it as a scape goat, why are you all surprised? Nothing new here people.

Actually that is a relatively acceptable claim compared with the amount of bullshit the german media are passing on to the gullible public.
They take after their fuckbuddy really well don't you think?

That's stupid, once again Fox likes to reel out lies. Making assumptions about violent games in order to make a story. It's sad.
Welcome to "THE MEDIA"! One thing that you probably figured out by now is "The Media" will do anything to get MONEY! Since bad news sells better then anything, and bad news doesn't happen as much as "The Media" would like,so they make some/or make an existing problem seem worse! By simply adding something or twisting the story, they can make any story meet their needs.
(This is my opinion on this subject, if you don't agree with me fine, your allowed to have your own opinion).
Oh I know this already, but I agree with you.

I think jibjab made a flash movie on the news once. But yeah I can't say anything about Faux news thats already been said.

Honestly it's come to the point were I can only watch bbcnews and NPR for anything anymore.
I swear it's either lies, bad news, or retarded news anymore. *sigh*

I both agree and disagree with the whole "Video games makes kids murderous!" statement. While the games themselves are harmless, when certain people play them, mostly crazy, stupid people, THAT is when they become dangerous. I play lots of shooter games, but I'm not gonna go to the local high school and shout "DIE SUCKERS!!!" and go on a shooting rampage, like the politicians are afraid will happen.

I remember what Craig Ferguson once said: "I'm not a reporter, I make crap up and say it on television, I'm like Fox news!"

Well jee, I dunno, did he hop around with an AWP while he was doing it?

I'm not trying to be funny, I honestly think that if a CS player did go on a a spree they would just bunny hop around calling everyone a fag.

The boy wore shoes, like 100% of the population in the West, and he went on to do that horrible school shooting. Clearly the shoes are to blame. We must outlaw them.

Also, lol @ "killing people to complete missions".
Technically, in most missions you don't have to kill anybody to win.

Counterstrike is not to blame. If it were, then 100% of people who play it would go on a shooting spree. Besides, I think it was found out that the teen had been getting help for mental problems already in which case any number of subsequent stimuli could have triggered his actions.

You know, as soon as I heard there was a shooting in Germany, I knew there would be some connection eventually made to video games.

Just for once I'd like to be wrong about something like this.

Alright.
I heard only through the grape-vine about this school shooting, so truly I have no clue what happened, how many people died or anything. And right now I don't feel much like looking it up, so I'll speak ignorantly.

I just want to comment on the fact that blame was placed on video games. Now honestly, do people really need this as a scapegoat? Couldn't someone tangible possibly been to blame? Could the shooter have needed someone to talk to but found no one? Did he have parents who left him neglected and schoolmates who picked on him?

It's troublesome because even if we had absolutely no murders in entertainment on television or in movies and if video games also weren't violent at all we'd still get around to killing each other.

It's ignorant, I think, to throw blame on something other than those who were close to him. His friends, his family. They are to blame, I think. Even indirectly so.
Does television just tell us "there is no way you ever could be to blame for anything. You're so fucking perfect. You need to blame ________ or maybe ________ instead because you did nothing awry that could have caused him to do this."

That's right, everything is the fault of games.
You know, I heard Hitler was a pretty nice kid until he started playing Call of Duty.
That wasn't it. He got rejected from Art school.

It seems that all these killers have one thing in common. School
Quickly, we must ban them before more people go on shooting sprees.

Edit: Alright, my 1000th post.

yes! its school! BAN SCHOOLS! also, make informal education punishable by drawing and quartering.

actually, that doesnt sound like such a bad idea. would greatly reduce gun violence.

Fox news is like that retarded kid in your class who wears a helmet and needs supervision because without it he would urinate himself, but your mom wants you to be friends with him because her and his mom are friends.

BA DUM TISH!

But seriously, you'd think by now they would have exausted the whole Video Games Killing thing. Fox news once reported that a man in a video game store had sprayed a can of mace in the clerk's eyes and grabbed an armsful of games, the news reporter stated "One of the games the alleged offender stole was GTA4, could he have been trying to mimic the game?" FUCK OFF!

and the 'gamer beating stick' gets another inch added. I may have to find a way to chart this online.
