I hate Nintendo. I hate that they get away with so many things that other companies would be ridden into the ground for, just because they revived video gaming in the 90's. Pandering solely to nostalgia and making the same games over and over again does not a good video game developer make. On a related note, I hate how the fanboys just eat it right up and rationalize everything Nintendo does (to the extent of making up theories and believing them)!
I hate that the vast majority of gamers miss the point of silent protagonists and declare them as "mute" when they're in fact silent so YOU can decide what they should be saying at the time, for more immersion.
I hate that people who have a favorite video game character, will always declare that that character can beat any other character in a fight, instead of taking into account that character's limitations as a character and such.
I hate how some people say "I lose faith in humanity" because they hear something negative go on in the news. You're not superior to everyone else and furthermore, humanity isn't going to go under or jump off the slippery slope just because something bad happens. Try finding the good things about life, as well please, as this is how humanity's always been. Full of people of all parts of the spectrum.
I hate how some people MUST be thought of as intelligent to people of other countries that hey see on the internet, so they'll say "I'm smarter than most Americans" or "I agree, my country is mostly stupid" so they'll be thought of as an exception to this "rule". People who live in America aren't inheretantly stupid and you're not superior to the majority of the population. Instead of insulting America's population so you can feel better about yourself, why don't you instead act as an example of America's more intelligent people? It's not impossible to be from America and be intelligent, you know. Not that I'm patriotic.
I hate that whenever a joke becomes popular, such as youtube jokes (just beiber jokes, x people didn't (negative thing from the video), there's always a few people who will scream "omg, that's not even funny anymore" or "whoever makes that joke again, I'm going to kick them in the face!". Nobody cares about what you personally find funny anymore.
I hate how some people must go on all the time about how they think religion is this horrible thing and that all religious people are "stupid". Not that I'm religious, myself, but this is another example of people needing to feel better about themselves. :/
I hate how people who don't like a certain brand of comedy or a certain comedy show must declare that that show is for the "least common denominator" and that they're too smart to care for it. Happens a lot for shows like Family Guy. The thing about comedy is, it's for entertainment, and is not about being intelligent; further, to think that everyone who enjoys family guy is "the least common denominator" or stupid is a classic case of generalizing. In fact, I know a lot of very intelligent people who like shows like Family Guy, because they know there's a time and place for asserting your smarts, and when to just enjoy yourself.
I hate that whenever people who are trying to assert to others how much better their country is, they always go on about their country's and their opposing country's participation in past wars that they weren't even a part of, as if that has any meaning whatsoever.
I hate how people judge people on what they wear. This not only stunts whatever new styles and trends that may come up otherwise, but it also makes for a lot of very unoriginal people. On a related note, I hate how whenever a woman wants to wear something skimpy (like a short skirt, for example) they're called tramps, or sluts, or something like that. Why can't we just let women wear what they want to wear? If they want to be conservative on their style of dress, let them be. If not, let them be free to wear what they want to wear. -it should probably be said that I'm not saying all women should wear things like that, but if they want to, they should be free to do it-
I hate furries. Not necessarily the people who draw them, as I've had really good conversations with furries (and some good friends, too), but the characters, most definitely. They're extremely lame to me. :/
I hate how some people have to change characters into who they want them to be, instead of just taking the character for who he/she is. It's just one example (also the most popular), but If the character isn't gay, why can't you just let him not be gay? If the character is gay, he doesn't need to be straight. It's just one example, but sexual orientation is a HUGE part of any character, just like it is for any person in real life. Gays don't like to be thought of as straight, Straight people don't like to be thought of as gay. It gets better or worse per person. (most potent example, yaoi fangirls)
I hate how movie enthusiasts have to declare every close friendship as a love interest or homosexual undertone. I know people who are very close friends, I've had very close friends, but these days in cinema, it seems like very close friendships are unheard of. :/ -note, it's a shame that I have to point this out or people will get the wrong idea, but I have no problem with gay people at all.-
I've noticed something lately. Why do anime fans absolutely NEED to hate at least 1 character per anime? It just isn't necessary and just irks me.
Last of all, I hate American style pr0n. Really. Why does it make sex out to be something disgusting and shameful at every turn? Telling me "You're f*cked up!", and calling one of the stars (who are grimacing at me, by the way) "Rotten" does not turn me on. I also hate how some people who see porn that makes it out to be a positive or cute thing call it "creepy".
Wheew, that took a good 25 minutes. Time to relax.
EDIT: okay, 1...2 more.
I hate how American gaming culture tells us that the definition of a real man is a guy with a buzz cut and a huge machine gun (usually fighting aliens, but not always). It's the most unoriginal thing ever. I also hate how JRPG's get all this hate for having cutscenes, when FPS's have them all the same and nobody says a word!
I hate how people HAVE to hate things even when things are pretty decent. Things like Final Fantasy XIII. Square Enix lost customer trust and loyalty, somewhere around FFXII or FFX-2, so whenever they come out with a new final fantasy now, people try to find reasons to hate it. They'll say they have "plot holes" like that "WHHHEEEEEERE did Light get her sword from after the first cutscene, HUH?! HUH?!" 'plot hole' where you could clearly see her pick it up if you looked. They'll also say things like "You don't even use strategy in this game!" The paradigm system makes you use a lot of strategy, actually, in battle (when to switch paradigms, how to get the stagger percentage up to the highest, etc) and out of battle (which is the best formation for a healing paradigm?). There is an auto-battle button to make the battles go at a faster pace, making the paradigm system the most you get out of strategizing, but you're free to not use it and strategize further if you want. (of course, it's perfectly acceptable to legitimately not like it, it's not the best game in the world, but please don't dislike square's new games just because you feel like you have to. Give credit where it's due.)
