Krauser's final stage in Resident Evil 4 on Professional.

He's the toughest dude in the game, and you battle him almost immediately after you fought "it". Meaning you've probably wasted a good deal of you're magnum ammo beforehand.

I never found the Jill-spider fight that hard, especially not with a co-op partner.

USE THE LONGBOW!

OT: The end boss in Borderlands 2. I breezed through it in no time, while the robots I had to kill to get there gave me the toughest fight in the game.
Not fought the real last boss then? Think of crawmerax in a threshers body ...

Yeah, I think I will have to go with these two bosses in borderlands 1 & 2. I have never beaten them and I don't think I ever will.

Do they really need to be about 20 levels higher than you and with more health than all the previous bosses combined?
I was gonna say the end boss of Borderlands 2 but then you had to remind me of Crawmerax.
Maaaaaaaaaaan, fuck that guy.

Sure, I may have killed him but only with a bit by cheating. Being a level 55 with a level 69 partner helped a bit, but even with the level 69 partner, we still got destroyed about...15 times in a row? It's just a vicious, unforgiving fight with a bastard monster that can't wait to rip your testicles off.

And thinking about it, the majority of the boss fights in Borderlands 1 after the half-way point. They just became bullet sponges eventually. :p
Beyond me walking in with a "just finish this last side mission" mentality, I have never even attempted to kill him.

I walked in, he spawned, I fired, he laughed, he killed me and I walked away with my tail between my legs thinking "yep, not finishing that one!".

In borderlands 2 I knew what I was getting into, so I equipped my rocket launcher which does 24,000 damage ... it never even nudged his health bar.

You know...that spoiler is kinda central to Jill's character as a whole during Resident Evil 5...

I know it's on old game but geez, have some respect for people that HAVEN'T played the game.

Wait, do people really still care about Resident Evil's story at this point? I mean...it's just so incredibly terrible. The storytelling is crude, the characters are entirely uninteresting, and even the basic plot is so pants-on-head retarded, I don't understand how anyone can find two shits to give about anything happening anymore. Don't get me wrong, the games are still fun, and I enjoy them quite a bit, but RE already started of as kind of dumb, and just went downhill from there.

OK, sorry, I'm derailing the thread, but I was just a bit surprised by this.

I really hated the Bed Of Chaos in Dark Souls, especially when most of the other bosses are so well-designed and a true pleasure to beat. Bed of Chaos is simply gimmicky however, and when I finally figured out the final step to defeating him, I felt none of the usual satisfaction. In short: frustrating, gimmicky and overall pointless.

Hmm...

Possibly Frank Fontaine at the end of Bioshoch, it made no sense, it is actually harder to kill a splicer or big daddy on hard than it is Fontaine. I killed him with the wrench without dying.

Or the 2 boss fights against women in Deus Ex HR (Eliza and the mute girl). I honestly didn't actually know what I was doing in that final fight and the one against the mute girl was obnoxiously hard in my opinion.

You're not the only one. I still get surprised when I find out people are angry about the change of character in the new DmC game. Because Dante has never changed before, amirite?

And it's totally not a Capcom game, so the story isn't complete rubbish with an insane canon that nobody should try following if they want to protect their sanity? Apart from Dante's 'shop' at the beginnings of DMC and DMC3, none of the games even appear to take place in the same universe.

OT: Well, I wouldn't call it a bad boss, but Grunty from both Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie is pretty damn difficult. That's not the point of this thread though... uh...

Any boss in any first-person shooter who is a bullet sponge. I can slightly forgive Borderlands for this because of the heavy emphasis on RPG elements, but I hate needing to pump three-quarters of my ammo into a boss just for them to finally crumble. And beefing up the health of the enemies isn't actual difficulty, it's just artificial difficulty to attempt hiding the fact that the AI is so laughably stupid that these guys are basically just standing there taking bullets to the face.

"Yeah, well that's like, your opinion, man."

I rather enjoyed Resident Evil 5. Not everyone thinks the same way you do, and not everyone wants to be spoiled to everything. The title gives it away with little to no consideration to others. Maybe some people haven't played Resident Evil 5, and were hoping to do so after receiving their Resident Evil 6 Anthology.

It may be an old game, but spoilers are still spoilers, and when you're giving out spoilers that are central to a character's being as a whole during a specific game, you could at least be kind enough to hide them behind spoiler tags for those that DON'T want to see them. The thread could've easily been renamed to "Your most hated boss battle in a game" or something of that nature.

It's just common courtesy. A basic respect for your fellow gamer.

Strange, I found Krauser to be one of the easy ones; most of his attacks have a dodge prompt and I actually beat him using just the knife.

Died three times during that fight, though only because I was losing concentration after making pop-up attacks for 15 minutes straight I walked off a ledge. Repeatedly.

Being as sober as a judge at the time didn't really help matters either.

But yeah, shitty battle design there.

HA! Try running out of ammo on Weskers final form in the volcano and having to run up knife it for 3 minutes.

Me and my cousin were pissed off...
I actually killed Wesker's final form with the very last bullet in my rifle, which was the very last piece of ammo that I had.

Oh dear God... Remember Saturn? The fuck was that about...

Dear Jebus... Some of the hurdles in the game are harder than whats hiding behind them.

Also I'm not sure "hardest" qualifies as worst
The worst for me might be Darth Vader from Force Unleashed 2.

With Mysterio from Spiderman 2 a close second

What does it spoil though and to who?

If you've played every Resident Evil except for 5 and assume Jill refers to Jill Valentine, which granted is a fair assumption, it at most spoils that Jill is in RE5, but says little about what the "spider" is. Which by the way, isn't even a spider nor does the title mention it's on her chest or that it's a mind control device. If you haven't all played the other Resident Evils, than it doesn't even give away which one.

By now, unless you've managed to completely stay ignorant to everything RE5, you should already be aware that there is additional content for it that has Jill as a playable character. So "Jill is in the game" is barely a spoiler anyway.

At worst "Getting the spider off Jill is the worst boss battle ever" is a confusing statement that could potentially lead to an unwanted spoiler if you ask for more information. The tone of the first post assumes a) you already know what he's talking about and b) it's irrelevant to even discuss so let's talk about other things.

On normal difficulty, sure. But on Proffesional the guy whooped my ass. It took me an hour in total to finally kill the bastard.

Nope, even on professional I beat him with the knife on the first go. On professional I died often with the fucking chainsaw guys who take a billion shotgun shells to kill and always have 7 or 8 other villagers to distract you from him, giving him a shot for a one hit kill.

Next time you fight him on professional, try getting him to use range attacks and counter with the knife, that always works for me.

The bosses on Pro are really a question of keeping your distance and shoot them when you get an opening.

Also the best strategy for the Village chief is to go to the second floor and shoot him as he's leaping from beam to beam, usually that makes him fall off and causes additional damage.
