Krauser's final stage in Resident Evil 4 on Professional.

He's the toughest dude in the game, and you battle him almost immediately after you fought "it". Meaning you've probably wasted a good deal of you're magnum ammo beforehand.

I never found the Jill-spider fight that hard, especially not with a co-op partner.
Strange, I found Krauser to be one of the easy ones; most of his attacks have a dodge prompt and I actually beat him using just the knife.
On normal difficulty, sure. But on Proffesional the guy whooped my ass. It took me an hour in total to finally kill the bastard.
Nope, even on professional I beat him with the knife on the first go. On professional i died often with the fucking chainsaw guys who take a billion shotgun shells to kill and always have 7 or 8 other villagers to distract you from him, giving him a shot for a one hit kill.

Next time you fight him on professional, try getting him to use range attacks and counter with the knife, that always works for me.
Just goes to show, I guess; The chainsaw guys have never giving me any trouble at all on any difficulty. The Regenerators fucking sucked though, since instead of only a few, they all have that one extra leech on their back on Proffesional.

Yeah, he was a real pain in the ass. The village chief was also a nightmare on pro.
The bosses on Pro are really a question of keeping your distance and shoot them when you get an opening.

Also the best strategy for the Village chief is to go to the second floor and shoot him as he's leaping from beam to beam, usually that makes him fall off and causes additional damage.
It works for most bosses, but with Krauser it's hard to keep a distance.

That still doesn't change the fact that it's a plot device central to her character in the game. All on its own it's not THAT big of a deal since it's vague, but the fact is that it's a spoiler. And people, more often than not, seek to unravel that which they do not know, and when they know, they find out it's one of the larger spoilers for that game. And no it's not a spoiler that Jill is in the game. It's Resident Evil. It's going to have her in there somewhere. That much is obvious. Having her as a player character during Mercenaries is a bit irrelevant to the topic at hand. Mercenaries is outside the story and has nothing to do with it.

What it spoils is that somewhere along the line there's a boss fight that includes getting into a battle with Jill, and it spoils it to anyone who HASN'T played Resident Evil 5. Not everyone discovered they enjoy this series at its inception. The fact is that spoilers are still spoilers. Argue all you want, but this particular spoiler IS a big spoiler regardless of how vaguely worded it is. It could've at least been hidden behind tags for those that DON'T want to know or see it.

As I said, it's common courtesy. A basic respect. It doesn't appear many people even know what that is.

Killbane in saints row 3. It was a fucking QTE and it made me feel like an asshole because I didn't save my media whore That girl.

I didn't think it was possible for QTE'S to make me feel like more of a twat and then this one came along.

The one on it's back that you have to shoot it's leg to reach? Yeah those things were annoying but you got 5000 for the regular Regenerator a 20000 for the Iron Maiden, so economically they were well worth killing.

You're not the only one. I still get surprised when I find out people are angry about the change of character in the new DmC game. Because Dante has never changed before, amirite?

I think the reason people are angry with Dante's change is more to do with the fact his character design has changed drastically so that he is now a skinny whatsit with black hair and looks like he hates himself rather than the cool individual we have seen blowing demons apart in previous games i.e. the pictures that you just posted. But what do I know? *shrugs*

OT: There have been plenty of terrible boss battles. For example, the bullet sponge first boss of DE:HR that is a pain to fight if you had been playing a stealth build up to that point. Who else... The QTE Mini-Boss Skeleton in Dark Cloud. The first optional boss in Persona 4, he should not have been that hard. And I can't think of anymore at the moment...

The second and than final "boss" in Twisted Metal.

You should explain things better in multiple staged battles. Lot of driving around and guess work. Some was obvious, but occasionally the game would be kinda weak on doing what you want to on screen, leaving a "WTF I DID THAT" moment.

At what point does a game become old enough to not have to worry about spoilers in random conversation? The correct answer is not never.

You know what it's referring to. Someone who doesn't already know won't know that Jill is the enemy or that she's mind controlled from that. It could be a big fuck-off spider boss for all the uninformed know. After all in Resident Evil 1, there are giant spiders and the RE5 expansion content where you have Chris and Jill going back to some mansion could have more giant spiders in it. The commercials for the new Resident Evil movie gives more away about Jill's character arc than the thread title.

OT: Well I am not going to bother naming any mmo bosses, since I feel they are in their own class of terrible, so I will go with the end boss to KOTOR 2. Been so long I can not even fully remember how it went, something to do with 4 animated lightsabers.
She was an absolute pain in the ass. Running away was surprisingly the best option there.

All of the bosses from the R-Type games were difficult when I was younger. Much rage was had.
truth in this strategy, they wouldn't follow you if you used force speed correctly (i was a consular so my health/lightsaber abilities weren't my strength) and I was able to force lightning the shit out of two of em at a time. fuckin bastards.

OT: i guess it overall depends on your strengths/weaknesses and how willing you are to exploit the games mechanics really...

go beat tug o war on mario part 1 on very hard mode. i dare you to try.

your going to be bleeding from the palms like your jesus.

Clearly you haven not fought Wesker on Professional in the Jill and Chris DLC. I swear you only have half a second to input those buttons, and God help you if you do it wrong or are too late. Another one is the final part of the Wesker battle in the volcano on professional. When Chris has to jump on Wesker while Sheva knifes him. Whoever plays as Chris needs to have inhuman thumb-pressing speed. Ugh. I've only been able to do it once. Rest of the time, I just fired an RPG and hoped it didn't kill Chris too.

Worst boss fight though...I'm not sure. Some of those Ninja Gaiden series bosses can be rough, but they're suppose to be. I think I'm going to go with one (I think it might have been the last or second to last one) of the clone Riku battles in the original GBA version of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. I seem to recall that I was in tears while fighting him. That boss fight comes out of nowhere and he is insanely overpowered. The game didn't seem to give you proper leveling for him. All the other bosses, assuming you fought your way through the world, could be fought right then. Riku was the only time I had to go back, for a two hours, and level up. Throw in the fact that you couldn't really dodge, just move, and oh man...at least the PS2 port allows you to jump and dodge roll. Much easier.

Jill just requires you to stay close with Chris yelling at her.

I'm sorry, when did I say "never" in any of my posts? Oh, right. I didn't. OLD games you shouldn't have to worry about spoilers. Those are old enough that no one cares. Resident Evil 5, though? That game is just over 3 years old. I don't think it's old enough to not worry about spoilers in random conversation. Now how about we just agree to disagree and move on.

That fight was the best, cause when you're playing Co-op your partner (Or at least mine, in my case) can't keep it together and it turns into a terrible porno scene without the porno.

OT: The end boss in Borderlands 2. I breezed through it in no time, while the robots I had to kill to get there gave me the toughest fight in the game.
Were we playing different games? I tore through the robots, but the warrior would laugh off my entire stock of ammunition and knock me into the lava without fail. I only beat him by climbing onto a girder outside the arena and shooting him with an acid pistol for 20 minutes. How did you beat him so fast?

What class were you? I was a commando with a very upgraded turret and health regeneration, along with a juiced pointman class mod. I had good health regeneration along with a shielded turret.

It also helps to shoot the armor off of his chest to shoot him in the heart for critical hits since the mouth can be tough to hit.

I also stayed in the middle of the arena the entire time to avoid painful lava death, only ducking under cover to dodge his fire breath.

There was armor? I was dead far before I ever noticed that. Anyway, I was an incredibly fragile siren with a propensity for accidentally selling all my good guns. And I stayed in the middle too, but those damn crystalisks would knock me 20 feet in the air and straight into the lava. Between that and the fire breath laughing at my idea of crouching behind cover, it was painful.

"Getting the Spider off Jill", someone please tell me what game that is from.
Resident Evil 5. Jill Valentine has a mind control spider jammed in her cleavage and it's up to Chris to reach in there and yank it out. Sheva's job is to hold Jill down in a vaguely erotic manner while this is going down.
Which is why I find myself not hating this at all. Also it was easy for me, so I guess I was fortunate there.

Worst ever?
The final boss in Conan was pretty much the worst thing of all time, especially on the hardest setting. You have to do a lot of dodging, it's unpredictable, cheap, random, one of those "luck based" things we know and hate.

If you want genuinely hard I recommend Bionic Commando Rearmed on Super Hard. I did it, they all sucked, but at least they're largely skill based.
