I can't be bothered with haircuts. I tend to have a few inches off every so often, but even that is increasingly rare these days. That said my hair is reaching a length that is becoming cumbersome. It is currently about half way down my back, which means it gets in the way on the back of chairs, coats, backpacks etc.

Also, as a male individual with long hair, I seem to garner quite a lot of verbal abuse from strangers including such remarks as "He looks like a fucking girl." (spoken to his friend, deliberately loud enough for me to hear as I passed them), "Are you a girl or a boy?" (drive-by derision from two girls riding bikes), and "Get a fucking haircut." (common among those in cars driving past or stopped at a pedestrian crossing I'm using, for some reason). Rather than encouraging me to conform to these intolerant people's standards, it only induces the urge to cause physical damage to them or their property. I will never understand the reasoning behind insulting a complete stranger, unprovoked. The insults themselves are weak, but the intent to insult is upsetting.

I may have gone on something of a tangent there...
For some reason people like to fuck with other people walking/bike riding on the side of the road.

I can't tell you how many times I've had verbal abuse and objects hurled at me (even fire crackers) for riding my bike late at night.
I have long hair, I wear mostly all black, I'm rather on the chubby side, according to society I'm basically just asking to have things thrown at me from high school kids in their car. Graduating high school certainly never did me any favors, as I still get bullied by the teenagers anyway.
You could be wearing white, they'll still throw firecrackers at you.

Trust me. I think kids just see people on the side of the road and assume they're poor and okay to pick on.

I like getting a hair cut, mainly because when I get a haircut my hair goes from shoulder level or longer, to about above my eyebrow. Being able to take a shower much quicker, and having a lighter head is just nice.

Saying that, I haven't had a hair cut in about a year. When my hair grows out I don't get it trimmed or anything, so I look like a stereotypical stoner (or kurt cobain depending on who you ask). I like to keep my hair long because I feel that I look better with longer hair, and it is always nice to see the expression on someone's face when you hold the door open for them while they were giving you smug looks.

I hate going to get my haircut as well, I've been getting the same haircut from the same guy for a few years now and it strangely still makes me nervous somehow. I've been thinking about getting a mohawk for a while now but am yet to summon the courage to actually do it.

I'm a girl with long hair and my boyfriend also has longish hair (it used to be pretty long, it's now up to his shoulders).

I often contemplate cutting it all off, but then I realise that it only takes me 5-10 minutes of my time to make it neat enough. I have naturally wavy hair that frizzes pretty easily though, so I know if I DID cut it short, it'd end up as an unmanageable mess. Last time I got my hair cut I got a good 2-3 inches off of the length, and damn the quality of it felt so much better. All dem split ends gone!

My boyfriend on the other hand has naturally dead straight hair. It blew my mind that he can leave it dripping wet after a shower and it will still dry straight. If his hair ever bothers him he puts it in a loose ponytail, but I think he's pretty used to it now. He gets his hair cut whenever he feels it's too long, he's not as fussy as me.

Lol. There are more than you think. I'm not sure who that stereotype is more annoying for, white collar gay guys or straight male hairdressers.
Hm. It's too bad I've never found one. Where I live they're almost exclusively female, at least the ones who cut the ladies' hair.

I have like...an unhealthy obsession with long hair on girls. I want SO badly for mine to be long (I'm a girl) so I can have the Rapunzel hair that I so wish I had but I have thin, fine, ultra curly hair. So as much as I would kill a dozen babies and club a hundred seals for the thick hair like Merida had in Brave, it'll just never happen so I recently got a pixie cut. Now I'm growing it out to look like Chani's from Anchorman 2 because I FREAKING LOVED her hair in that. Not a great movie, but Kristen Wiig = <3. I had my hair down to my shoulderblades not long ago but it drove me insane. I would spend a solid 20 minutes in the shower detangling my hair with 1/4 a cup or more of conditioner because the tangles were so numerous and so instantaneous. I really doubt I'll ever have my hair really long ever again, it was just horrible.

Oh, and when I am maintaining short hair, I get it cut every 4-6 weeks. When it's growing out/when I don't care, I'm lucky to remember to cut it twice a year and it gets so damaged.

I'm a guy with long hair for 2 reasons. The first is I like having long hair. I work as an accountant which is a profession where you're expected to be neat ad tidy and having hair halfway down my back makes a nice change to all the short haired guys in the office. The second is hairdressers/barbers scare the crap out of me and I have to be dragged kicking and screaming to them (quite literally when I was younger)

I prefer to keep my hair as short as I can. Now that it's cold, I keep a couple of millimeters worth of hair on my head. Just a bit, though. If it gets too long (still short by most standards) I cut it myself. During the warmer periods and randomly during the winter, I shave it down to nothing. Feeling that breeze is really cool. Also, really cool. As in cold. And wearing a hat doesn't work, since anything soft and warm just merrily slides off of my silky smooth head. Annoying is what it is, I tell ya.

I used to keep my hair medium length back in trade school, but then I realized I looked like a douche with it. It sort of splits in the middle at the top of my forehead, and curls. It essentially makes me look like a pompous, snot-nosed snob. After that, short all the way. Didn't have to readjust myself to the military or nuthin' either. And afterwards, I didn't have to "grow it back" like all of my mates.
