The first movie made enough money to warrant a sequel? What the hell....
According to Box Office Mojo it had a production budget of $110 million and made $228,738,393 worldwide.

I just hope it will be as campy and awesome as Drive Angry.
I haven't gotten round to watching that yet. Was it really so bad it was good?
Nicholas Cage in a leather jacket & sunglasses , with a big cigar, drinking whisky straight from the bottle, fucking a hooker, while getting into a gunfight against a mob of demon worshipers. Does that sound "bad" enough for you?

AWESOME. Ghost Rider was awesome.
And here I am thinking I'd be the only one who thought along those lines! I liked the original movie and I liked the trailer for the sequel! Hell, that could very well be a birthday movie for me...wonder what else will be out in Feb...?

Also, and I know the chances are slim, it would be nice to see if there's any inner-movie continuity between this and...I dunno, Spider-Man? Or any given other Marvel movie franchise.

And while we're at it talking about sequels we probably don't really need. What are people's thoughts on the new Superman and Spiderman reboots? Do we really need them?

I didn't mind the first one. 'Nuff said.

I won't go see this in the cinema but I'll probably catch it on TV somepoint.

Hey, the man (Nic cage)'s gotta eat, righte? I kinda liked the first one. It was one of those: brain off, action on movies, but you know.. fun.

I agree with the sentiment of how bad the Spiderman and Ghost Rider movies look, but I'm REALLY excited for the Superman reboot. Every superman movie so far, even the "good" ones, has utterly failed to make Superman actually super. For the old movies it's more due to not having good special effects because they're old, but Superman Returns had no excuse.

Zack Snyder can make Superman super again, and with Nolan producing and Goyer writing it, I can't see this movie sucking at all. I just hope that the planned trilogy follows my expected order after Zod: Doomsday in 2 and Darkseid in 3. Darkseid is the baddest big bad of them all, and he deserves an epic silver screen appearance!

Why are you doing this to us Nicolas? Looked even worse than the first one.

Trailer for the new movie has been released. Check it out if you don't treasure your eyes:

EDIT: Also a second thought I had, What are your thoughts on the new Spiderman and Superman reboots? Do we really need them? Especially the Spiderman one.
The studios see that the superhero craze is going to end pretty soon so they are milking all the most famous characters while there still is a big enough market for these movies to make a profit.

That's my take on it.

Also, I liked Season of the Witch.
I bloody LOVED that movie!

So good!

OT: I haven't seen the first one, tbh. I don't know about all these reboots of Spiderman and Superman though, I'm kinda hesitant.

Yeah yeah spot on I think. Unfortunately that doesn't mean we need the movies or that they'll be any good. :(

It's a darn shame....here you have a premise for a movie that by its very nature, SHOULDNT suck.

A flaming, Harley riding, demon skeleton man. I mean.....thats awesome!. I really want it to be good, but experience has taught me otherwise.

I hope it's good but I don't think we need another Superman movie. We don't even really need another superhero movie imo.

As a die-hard Ghost Rider fan, I was more than a bit disappointed with the first film. I thought it had moments, but it could/should have been better.

THIS one, however, looks way better. I understand what you mean by "really?", not every film is to everyone's taste, but I'll be going to see this one for sure.

As for reboots. I think they have the potential to go either way. I can tell they're rebooting Spider-Man to try and wash away the stink of Spider-Man 3, but frankly, I can see the Superman reboot being a way to try and make him relevant again in the build up to the Justice-League mess they're planning.

Crank and Crank 2 were awesome movies. The fact that the new Ghost Rider is being directed by the very same director as the former is enough to pique my interest. I too, was one of the few people to enjoy Nicholas Cage as Ghost Rider in the first film.

The trailer released yesterday only heightened my excitement. I freaking love Ghost Rider.
