I remember muttering the words 'Ich schenk dir mein leiben', or something like that, which means 'I offer you my life'. It was part of a song I was listening to. Then, all of a sudden, I felt like I'd been punched in the chest, and a curious tingle started in the centre of my ribs. Not the heart. Just the centre. It then spread out to my limbs, and when it reached my head, it manifested itself as a maniacal laugh. I just couldn't stop. Then I'd laughed enough, and the feeling left, and I felt so tired.
Wow. o_O

It seems that German language has some strange effects on people. I remember one time when I played Morrowind for 40+ hours I heard a loud shout, like a scream in my head: "Ich bin unbesiegbar!!!" and than I passed out o_O

Btw I'm not German, never studied their language or anything like that.

I am....something. I don't study the language either, I just looked up translations of E Nomine and Rammstein songs, and I've built up a small vocabulary.

I don't believe in ghosts. Also I've seen a ouija board being used once. You know what happened? Fuck all.
I love bringing them out when mates are round, and they exoect something to happen, so when it does... magically (my finger got possessed and it made it move... wasnt me at all) they got all 'wow'-y about it.

I don't believe in anything supernatural, neither paranormal nor religious.
Except for the show, of course.
Dean and Sam kick ghost ass.

I've been taken over before. Therefore, yes, I do believe in the paranormal. However, when I was "Inhabited", I was fucking around in places I never should have been in the first place, so my belief is that there are ghosts and unexplainable creatures out there, they just keep to themselves. I leave them alone, they leave me alone. Simple as that.

How does believing in ghosts as left over energy make more sense than a so called "soul"?

Serious question btw. the very definition of a ghost would be a soul, wouldn't it? How can you possibly call it energy?

I don't understand. Explain plz. If you believe in ghosts, then you automatically believe in souls. That's the only way I see it.
I am a devout atheist, and i cannot see how it is a soul. We all know that energy cannot be used, it is transferred, and changed, so i reckon that emotional energy can either change or certain aspects can remain, left over energy creating phenomena is the only 'rational' answer.
And i know the use of rational is ironic but ha,ha bloody ha

I can't really say because I've never experienced anything overtly paranormal but... ya i think it's possible.

all i will say is does anyone find it weird that ufo sightings only started when sci-fi films started getting made
As i have already stated, this isn't about UFO's, and if you are putting this to the ghost idea, the first recorded ghost sighting happened in ancient greece... now i think that is long before films

Ghosts are very real, and if anyone says otherwise they need to fuck off back to the rock they live under.

www.youtube.com/user/constantine99999 <-- This guy is a very serious paranormal investigator.

Yeah, I believe in ghosts or spirits or... Something. And yes, I believe in the soul. I'm not hugely religious, but I believe in souls.

A couple of times since my gran died, I've felt the comulsion to do things I'd never normally do or that I hadn't really thought about - so far, I've won £50 on a scratchcard (the first time I've ever played), found some DVDs to rent I've wanted to see the day they were released (on wierd days, like Wednesdays - who the hell releases DVDs to rent on Wednesdays!?). Hell, I decided to go quickly into a shop I've never been in before, just to see what was there - just before a traffic accident right where I was going to cross the road.

Could all be coincidences, but that's all happened in the month since my gran died, all just... Little impulses. :)

You have to know something about the ancient Greek culture before reading too much into this:

When you died in their culture you would (hopefully) go to the Elysian Fields (their Heaven for the heroic and virtuous). Some people didn't, and their souls got stuck on Earth as Shades. Shades weren't feared like ghosts, but pitied because they were stuck and couldn't move forward. So any "ghosts" records would be people "seeing" Shades of dead loved ones.

Also, I don't believe in anything supernatural or paranormal. There's another thread that is somewhat like this one* that was made a few days ago that sort of died. It made me sad, but now there's this.

[small]* It's less specific than this one, and deals more with the ability to be psychic and the like, if I remember correctly[/small]
