Try the "tales of..." series, symphonia and vesperia are the ones I know exist. They are fun co-op games. They are Japanese animated run around saving the world games so if that's not appealing don't even bother, if you guys are open minded give it a shot.

What sort of games does she like? I'm a girl, and I like RTS games and shooters. So there, gender boundaries!

But if you're after games you can play together, look and see if there's a big "co-op" or "multiplayer" on the case. That usually helps.

hmmm Diablo still doesnt seem like a girl type of game, maybe something like mario cart, but Diablo, well atleast your sister can enjoy the third enstallment of Diablo which is coming out soon, i think.
(Fixed the failquote for you.)

What is a girl type of game? Seriously, I know it's a male dominated industry but girls can enjoy cutting people to pieces as much as guys can enjoy playing dress-up in The Sims.

As for the Diablo games, they're essentially RPG's which is a gender neutral genre. Girls aren't exactly more prone to being turned off by blood either. Most nurses are female.

And yes, me, my girl, and my sister are looking forward to Diablo 3. They'll probably play it more than I will.

The Hackenator IV: The Re-Bloodening.

Basically, any colourful game goes well with females/casual gamers.

Well, what are her interests? And what consoles do you own? And what do you like to play yourself?
lol i just misread that to say "what are her interests? what consoles do you own? and do you play with yourself?"

i couldn't help thinking "you don't need to know you pervert! its her he wants involved in that part!" ;-)
*Shocked face* I'll have you know I am a respectable married woman with zero interest in any escapist's 'special time'! ;-)

Bomberman from PS store can be a good choice, even if it is only a demo.
Also Trine (again from PS store) is a great co-op game.

My gf loves gears of war, halo 3 and homeworld 2.

I daydream about a girl who can tell me the pros and cons of an energon battle pistol vs a photon burst rifle, though (-she doesn't really dig transformers wfc, which I'm into atm!).

edit: spelling

Well gears 2 should get her steamed up, all those macho men cutting up scum.
Mmmm... watching them ram big, hard, steaming vibrating guns into their enemies again & again...

Yeah, no, you two should pick up an old PS2 & a copy of Fatal Frame.
Have her quivering in your arms.
That scence with Dom and Maria apparently really appeals to girls for some reason. Dunno why, but I the ladies like it then, well....

That would go some way to slow the over-population of the planet. Social services would have to confiscate children left-right-and-centre on any big release weekend.

You should kill things together :) Get a 360 and a copy of Gears Of War, if that doesn't thrill her, then I don't know what to say............. (I really wish my husband would play Gears with me *cries*)
As PP's have said Little Big Planet, maybe. My son's GF doesn't play games but enjoys watching and she loves watching LBP. I don't get it myself, prefer to play Mass Effect, Dragon Age etc. But, you know, horses for courses, hope you find something good that she will enjoy! :)

Female Gamer here, hi!

Left 4 Dead, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Bioshock, Assassin's Creed.

Don't try and separate games into Guys/Girls. It sucks.

Just play.

Depends on what type of girl she is.

I would say that perhaps the most effective choice would be an MMO, simply because they offer so many different play styles, such as pve, pvp, tradeskilling, economics, social, ect. as a catch all.

If shes into narrative, go the more narrative route with an RPG

If shes more action oriented, try the shooter route.

If shes into crosswords or sudoku, try something puzzle oriented.

Its all about matching a game style with her other normal interests.

But I honestly suggest, that if you dont know your girls personality well enough to know what types of things shes into that your turning to a forum for advice, perhaps you should ditch the games all together and focus on getting to know her first, once you nail that down, figuring out what type of game style matches her interest shouldnt be all that hard.

My sister can't get enough of the Diablo series. She's crazy for Diablo 3.

So, perhaps try that.

If I got a dollar for everytime I saw a thread with "girl gamers" in the title I would still be broke, because I would blow it on hookers and liquor.

But still, Viva Piñata :p

Yeah, that's how highly I think of the opposite gender!
