Stupid ten-year-old... Why would she do that? I feel bad that this happened to her, but she should have known better. Even worse, the tanning beds should be monitored at all times to avoid incidents like this.
People should not be granted leniency, rewarded, or compensated in any way because of their own innate stupidity.

Actually, a sun tan is increased levels of melanin produced by skin cells of us whiteys to defend against exposure to the sun. Hence the reason really tan skin is less likely to burn. The human body is more adaptive than we give it credit for. This is exactly why they stick big, fat warnings on the side of the door about sun-burn and to stay away if you're 10 and have no common sense.
If you want to tan, i have nothing against that, it's your own body, but something that for all intensive purposes BURNS YOUR SKIN, it should at least be supervised by an attendant, it doesnt matter if theres only one per 10 beds or even 20, there should be somoeone there, as kids are bloody stupid and haven't made the sunburn mistake yet.

No they shouldn't be banned. I don't see how keeping the idiots safe would benefit mankind in any way. Leave natural selection alone, okay? It's there for a reason.
