Wow. I had no idea young girls really cared about their appearances that much. Especially enough to go to a tanning studio that is for 16s and over. Was it her first time at one? Her parents must have known if it wasn't her first time on a sunbed.

Our decisions affect the way we live our lives, unfortunately for her, she made a bad decision and will not be forced to stay indoors.

I had an idea for a Doctor Who plot involving Tanning Beds. Tanning Beds were cooking people and were creating some sort of microwave-UV field that was going to cook the earth. Is it just me, or do teenage girls just find baking under a bank of UV-bombarders to be relaxing. Personal I would start crisping before I even walked in the door. Mostly becuase said young teenage girls would have me crucified and burning for not accepting Twilight as my one true God. BUT I DIGRESS. Fake n Bake is not "tanning" its irradiating yourself. Its kind of like sitting naked in front of an xray machine and getting bombarded for 16 minutes. Not good, and it will probably sterilize you.

It beats being a pasty white. I like to get a decent tan in the summer, if only because once I tan, I don't burn anymore for the rest of the season (Not looking like a World of Warcraft player is just a plus). I'm not like those obsessed people who go to the tanners every weekend. You know the ones; the ones that are supposed to be naturally white, but are darker than Barack Obama. I especially hate the ones who get tanned in the middle of the Winter. It's just so odd-looking.

There, corrected. Me, I'd vote in favour for a microchip that supresses your ability to reproduce. At the age of 18 you'd do a competency test. Those that pass get their ball/egg sacks unlocked. Those that don't, are removed from the gene-pool.

Basically, ban unmanned machines outright, full stop. Frankly, they should ban all these cancer-makers outright, because the dim fuckwits will and do use them a ridiculous amount, and ended up a hide of leather.

To be honest, what the hell is wrong with people that they think fried is a good tone to look at? At least fake tan doesn't kill you slowly.

Anyways.... I doubt they will ban the tanning beds outright (sadly), but these unmanned machines are just ASKING for trouble to occur. If anything, the operator of the tanning place should be up in court for willfully disregarding the public safety. But anyways... bah.

Sorry to tell you this, but even that is running the risk of skin cancer. causains simply aren't adapted to strong sun - Africans and Arabs have melanin to protect the live layers of skin, but we of the whites lack any. When your skin turns tanned? Thats burned to a crisp skin.

Agreed, to be honest. I find skin colour pretty inrevelant to attractiveness. But nevermind - when did the sane get to set the fashion standards?

For any lady who reads this, let me point out that a) Size 0 women ARE too thin and not attractive (aside from to fashion designer twats who seem mostly gay anyway), b) Sun burned skin doesn't look more attractive to most, and in the cases it does, (good non-orange) fake tan does the job just as fine without turning your skin into leather.

In Australia, or as I like to refer to us, SUN CANCER CITY, we had a girl die recently of skin cancer due to her use of sun beds. Until then, there had really been no press about the dangers of them.

Horrifying really, since being sun smart is the only thing any Aussie school anywhere is absolutely guaranteed to teach you.

I feel so sorry for this girl, she's just a little kid. Also, to anyone who thinks ten years old is old enough to make rational and sane choices? Please never breed. Or take care of any children. My god. At that age you still think rhyming games are the shit, and that boys are creatures from the black lagoon.

The idea of unmanned sub beds is horrendous. I had no idea they could exist anywhere. Of course, again I come from the land of the sun cancer, so we don't really need them.

Skin colour is actually a big factor in attractiveness for me, depending on the "race" of the girl.
I like really white white girls, but otherwise, I don't care about it.

And yeah, if we're talking about freakish thinness...it is just not attractive at all.

i hate fake tanning booths, but if people really want to use them that badly they should be very closely monitored i mean like a hawk!
