Ive always thought peoples perceptions of each other and themselves are very interesting, so im curious.

girls, what do you like to wear? What do you wear to impress people?

Guys, what do you like to see girls wear? What do they wear that makes you think they are trying to impress you (or anyone)

What do I like to see girls wear? Gather round, ladies, and learn how to impress a self-centered misogynist.

- A girl with a Red Sox cap (and not a pink one either) on and not even trying to fix her hair under it is so cute that it melts my very soul.
- I'd much rather see a girl in a T-shirt and jeans than a cocktail dress, but in between lies the sweet spot---I've got a thing for busty chicks, so a bit of peek-a-boo cleavage from a low cut shirt (actually, strike that. I assume you'd rather not have me staring at your tits, and I can't help myself.)
- Minimal or no cosmetics, please. I love the natural look.

Generally, if she's "dressed up", she's probably trying too hard and/or doesn't understand the concept of "know your audience" if she's trying to impress me that way.

This thread is very sexist, why are we asking different questions of the guys than the girls? How come girls get "looked at" here and guys don't?

Yeah. Hell, some of us get dressed up in $300 suits and shave just to try to impress, but do we get any attention? Nooooo.

I am a guy and I don't really awfully care about what girls wear.
Sure, the ladies look quite lovely in some outfits and a little offensive in others, but overall, I'm ambivalent.

This.

I want to comment on what men wear. I find it much more interesting than what women wear.

if it helps im a girl. So i want to know what fellow girls think about the way they dress, and guys' impressions about what we wear. Just see if they match or not. Im not looking for tips... Im just curious, about what fellow girls think about what they wear and what impression they think their giving, see if others think the same thing. Also feel free, girls and guys, to switch the questions.

You can't really staple "standard clothing" onto every woman, everyone will look better in something different.

Well, most of the time, but the point still stands.

Alrighty then, I can work with that.

What girls wear to impress me, don't know and don't care. If they know anything about me they'd probably show a bit of cleavage or something, but then most girls I consort with on a regular basis do that anyway just because they want to, whether they give a shit about what I like or not. As for what I wear to impress girls... well, I don't really think about it, I just try to look neat and shave my stubble a bit.

What I like to see girls in, well it depends on the girl. My current girlfriend is all about the goth fashion and it works really well for her especially on photo shoots (she's got a bit of a Sleepy Hollow-era Christina Ricci look happening), but that look isn't for everyone. Other girls look better in really nerdy stuff like sweaters and cardigans. And glasses, fuck yes. In my dictatorship (coming soon, kids) all girls will wear glasses by law at all times, even if there's no lenses in them.

I find it interesting that this thread started out as a thread about the perceptions people have about sexes but is actually only about girls wearing things.

OT: I'm not particularly impressed by clothing and I do not wear clothing to impress people. I sometimes impress myself by not looking like what could be described as a total slob despite having the nature of one.

I like to see girls wear skirts, mostly because it's really uncommon around these parts.

Other than that, I don't really have any preferences for clothing; whatever looks good just does, I haven't looked farther into it.

As a guy I wear casual, loose-fitting clothes. Jeans and a tee, sweatshirt or nice sweater in the winter. Have a leather jacket I've owned half my life I wear to work when it's cold. High-top sneakers. Love Wolverines, just no actual boots. All that's left are my socks and silk boxers.

What I find attractive on the ladies is comfortable clothes or casual dresses. Nothing too fancy and esecially nothing 'clubby!' Sweats (no words on the ass!), sundresses, loose-fitting jeans, sweatshirts, colorful tees, sweaters, it's all good. One thing in particular though that I almost always find myself taking a second glance for are those adorable fuzzy boots. Not the cheap, kiddie looking ones but the nice fur around the top ones that look like they were bought from somewhere fairly expensive. Not entirely sure why; I just like them. Oh, and lingerie is always nice too I guess.

I tend to go through phases with clothes.

Lately, I've been wearing clothes that kind of make me look like a tree, not intentionally, I just go for alot of greens, browns and florals. There's a good bit of black in there too though.

I stopped wearing jeans a year or so ago, traded them in for dresses and skirts, not for any particular reason it's just what I feel comfortable in nowadays.

If I want to impress someone... am... I don't know, I never know how to impress people with clothes so I just wear what I feel best in at that time. If I feel good in what I'm wearing I think I come across better. Cliche I know.

No, don't do that last part! Use your powers for good, not to legalise all the dumb stuff hipsters do.

I thought this thread was about musicals until I remembered it was called Guys and Dolls. Damn that's disappointing.

I like to wear stuff that's comfortable. And black. The only thing I really like about my body is my waist so I usually make the most of that. I think I posted about this [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.235103-Your-Regular-Outfit?page=4#8348765] ages ago. And I guess if I want to dress up then I wear a skirt or something. I actually dress for girls more than I dress for guys, because I'm not entirely sure that guys care. And as for the other question, I like guys who wear suits! Or waistcoats. Or any kind of unnecessarily formal attire as an everyday uniform. Must be all the Doctor Who that I watch.

I love a woman that wears a skirt or anything besides jeans. Something about everyone wearing jeans 100% of the time has been off putting.

And colors! Please no blacks grays and whites D:

As a guy my dress shirt is normally my best look, something about me being skinny and how my neck looks, I look so much better in a collared shirt.
