WHY DID SHEPHERD KILL ROACH AND GHOST?
Something about loose ends i think, since wasnt the whole thing some kinda plot to increase recruitment in the army? and Tf 141 had the people who were willing, and probably capable, to kill the guy to stop it

It's called having a deep and glaring hatred for every FPS in the world...when life hands you as much crap as I've taken from 7 years of losses then you'll feel about like me. Believe me, if I was trolling, I could do MUCH better than that.

I have to go with the Brutal Legend part where Eddie turns into a demon...first time everyone freaks out but the second? Not really...just regular day at work.
Wait wait wait.

You're a good video game troll because your life is hard?

_> ....Why did I massacre civilians in a Russian airport in MW2? I mean, everyone knew that Makarov was a terrorist. If America could get someone close to him, surely they knew were he was and could just barge in there and arrest him... Or, just have you kill him right there. It wouldn't have been that hard.
Quite frankly I was one of the ones offended by this bit because there was no point to it and it was just IW seeing what they could get away with.
Thnaks for bringing that up, actually. I would like to know why Russia felt it had to launch a bound to fail invasion against America, and how it was able to do this so soon after the massacre? Hell, why did they invade at all? If something like that happened, I think the first order of business is for Russia to go to the UN, after all, when shit like that goes down, thats what the UN is for.

I mean, what proof do they have, one dead American soldier who was shot by the guys he was working with? Seriously? If we had something like that happen and we saw russian military grade weapons (that are not availible on the corner of every fucking third world country, COD dev team, Drop the AK47, get something else), I would like to think our government would at least investigate before launching an invasion of another country... oh wait... nvm...

BUT ANYWAYS! Im pretty sure that if MW2 scenerio happened, very few countries would openly support the Russian invasion, mostly because they would be flabbergasted at it all.

Im goona stop this before it needs a spoiler tag for reducing post size...

In Prototype if Alex Mercer isn't Alex Mercer but the virus reincarnating as Alex Mercer *cough* how does it not remember being a virus. It explains that Alex doesn't remember who he is because of the aforementioned mess. But wouldn't it know it's not Alex then?

Also in Call of duty 4 You rescue Nikoli in like mission 2 and he says "Have the American's started their attack yet?...Americans are making mistake they will never take Al Asad alive." Like he was implying he knew about the nuke. But then Captain Price admitting that the Americans don't attack for several more hours doesn't radio that golden piece of info in.

Goldeneye on the Wii has a lot of plot holes from when they rewrote a plot that didn't make all that much sense to begin with. Why did they equip James with an "EMP proof phone" when they didn't really know what Goldeneye was yet? When Goldeneye went off in Severnaya, why did he hold up his phone and see the battery draining if it was "EMP proof?" Why does the phone work in the next level? Why in the last level does Goldeneye suddenly shoot laser beams? Why is there a time limit and why does it stop when I'm nowhere near shutting it down? How come Alec just keeps running around in a circle while I chase him and shoot him without any effect? What did blowing up the cooling towers earlier in the level accomplish?

Here's a game with great controls, marred by a really sloppy and bland second half. Those first two levels on 007 Classic Hard were fantastic. Everything else is just Point A to Point B running and gunning. Might as well have been a rail shooter.

How hell is Jak Mar in Jak 3, when Mar is the long-dead builder of the city? I suppose it's possible that Damos just named Jak after Mar, but the game implies that Jak is Mar, the builder of the very city he's in. It might also be possible that he went back in time to build the city. But for a game with an otherwise awesome plot, it sure did fall with that one revelation.
Hold on, let me try my hand at this one. The Old World from Jak and Daxter is the, er, "present", Haven City and that other city from Jak 3 the name of which escapes me, is the future. Jak grows up in The Old World as Mar, founds that city, goes back in time and plants himself (naming himself "Jak") and Samos into Haven City to prepare them for the adventures ahead, which he knew would happen because he went through them just like Jak had to, and then somehow they get back to the present and Samos doesn't even remember having ever been to Haven City before he gets there in Jak II. I might be missing some things, it's been a while since I went through those games.

OK, I'm gonna be honest, this plot is one of the most convoluted I've ever seen in a game, and unless Naughty Dog picks it up again, we'll probably never really know.

John Marston steps out of a barn to meet his death at the hands of a bunch of lawmen at the end of the game, despite having multiple fire bottles and sticks of dynamite in his possession. With the building/roof climbing skills he displayed in previous quests, he could have easily just climbed up to the hay loft of the barn and taken out all of his attackers with a single throw. Then maybe we wouldn't feel totally gypped at having spent the entire game trying to reunite with the family and getting all of five minutes with them before being shot to a bloody pulp.

Or, Hell, he could have just shot them all. It's not like he's never faced uneven odds before... his whole character is built around his ability to take out ridiculously large hordes of armed men without a suffering scratch.
He knew that if he was still alive his family would never be safe. Hh layed down his life so his family would be left alone.

In Heavy Rain, why did Ethan keep having those random blackouts and why did he have an origami figure?
When Ethan was hit by the car he was put into a coma and from that point on he started having delusions and black outs as a result of the coma and the fact that he lost his son.

As for the origmai figures, that's most likely Scott following him and placing them there. Which would make sense as he knew who Ethan was and what he was doing all the time.

all the pokemon games. What mother would allow her twelve year old child to wander around the country side gambling over who is the best at animal abuse with complete strangers and career criminals. Where would such a sport be socially acceptable anyway. Also I find the possible motivations of a so-called professor in inviting the neighbor child over to give them a pet quite dubious. Also how can a country survive with absolutely no infrastructure or government. The list goes on...
1. It is a different society. How is it social acceptable to wear a vest of ants to show your manliness? It just is in a different culture.
2. I don't remember any mention of a government or the fact that the cities are unified in anyway. This isn't a plothole they could just by a bunch of "city-states" ruled by town counsel that come together for a sport. Besides, it is a children's TV show/game. I am thinking the political complexities of the cities isn't high on the list for ideas of plot.

Either of the endings in Alone in the Dark: 5/Inferno. Seriously I know the entire game was a weird mess, but the endings just didn't even care how bad they were.

Warning Spoilers!
The good ending had your love interest turn into Lucifer and because you didn't kill her its the 'good ending'. What you do instead of killing her is essentially shrug your shoulders and be on your merry way home...leaving Lucifer to relax underground. Now how is it so bad that you at least try and kill Lucifer whether its a bad thing you are killing the girl or not. It begs the question, if your going to just admit defeat and go home any way, why place the stone and open the gate in the first place. Yeah weird stuff may carry on happening with weird self aware fissures, but surely we can deal with that over Lucifer?!

The bad ending is you shoot her, the game responds with 'oh you bad man, the last act of man was murder, yada yada yada' and Lucifer takes up residence in your body and kills the guy who is just there to help you...to...err...put a stone in a stone shaped hole.

I know Atari were obviously hoping for sequels, but it made no sense and felt like they forgot to write an ending. Why would you just walk of in that situation with no further comment on proceedings?

This isn't based at you Tdc, but your reply is basically what I said when I read the reasoning.

I mean I hate FPS' with a passion. I try to play them but just can't. I don't know if I just suck at them or if I just don't care enough to get good at them. But still, I don't hate on people that like them or wish they'd go away. Millions of people enjoy them, so what's wrong with that? If it wasn't for COD money, Brutal Legend may have never started up (it did begin with Activision, right?).

Gaming is an industry so without big selling titles, no matter how you feel about the genre, smaller more niche games never get funded. EA making Madden didn't keep them from gambling on Mass Effect.

If you meant losses at the game itself, then that is a really bad reason to hate the people playing it. That's beyond childish.

How about most RPGs, in which magic, curative items and skills don't work outside of combat sequences?
It could be an easy fix, and sometimes it doesn't working in combat. Just say that the weapon was "enchanted". In Final Fantasy Tactics when Teta gets killed, I actually went up to her body in a vain attempt to use a phoenix down on her. but it strangely didn't affect her. then again, Delita wouldn't have a reason to usurp the throne and manipulate an entire war to his liking.

anc[is]How Shepard knows about thermal clips after being dead for 2 years. They were invented while s/he was dead. Tiny one, but still there
And misses some of the more entertaining ones. For example how are humans the most genetically diverse species in the galaxy when your housecats have more genetic diversity. More genetic diversity than a race that reproduces like rabbit-snakes on Viagra (or at least did before being neutered)? More diverse than a race that actually breeds with other species!?

Not that much else in the plot makes sense either, but, you know, you start where you can...

How did the Pillar of Autumn find Halo if they made a 'blind' jump? Though i think it may have been explained somewhere...
My understanding is it was a true "blind jump", and the whole "finding Halo" thing was a complete accident.
That's my (rather non-fluff conscious) perception. The entire story starts off one complete and absolute accident.

Maybe I passed out due to the awesomeness of the Cage the Elephant or whatever song from the intro of that game but I don't remember much characterization. I'm curious about that now.
There was a written backstory for each character, giving a brief explanation of why they each came to Pandora. I believe it was somewhat like this (just off the top of my head): Brick came to find his lost sister (I think she was in danger or...something...), Mordecai came to find an old friend of his (forgot his reasons), Lilith came to find another Siren like here so that she may better learn the secrets of her powers, and Roland came to locate some old colleague of his from the Lance and kill him.

Some of that is probably off a bit but that's the basics of what I remember reading about them before I played the game. Then they each seem to forget their reasons for being there to find this vault...like seriously, not even a side quest that fulfills each characters reasons for being there? Even that much would have been good.
I thought Roland was there to kill Steele. I'm not positive, but that's my vague recollection.

I don't believe it was Steele. I recall it was just an unnamed Lance officer of sorts.

Mine has to be Dragon Age (I LOVE the game but this has always bugged me).

They only give you the option of joining one person, why just him? Like if you need a warden to kill the archdemon, you only have two wardens, and you know how to make more. THEN FUCKING MAKE MORE! Gha... stupid... sorry.
