What if we just want to indulge in the horrifying fantasy of killing everyone who annoys us? I know a lot of people who, after a long day's work, enjoy a spot of something like Hulk: Ultimate Destruction , so that they can pretend to smash that guy from HR so they don't in real life. This movie seems like that; even if the 'critique of the fantasy' that you think may be in it fails to stick the landing, it will still provide some temporary cathartic pleasure.
I FIND THAT VERY DISTURBING.

I think you're taking this a little bit too seriously. And by, "a little bit," I mean totally blowing it out of proportion.

The trailer shows the movie as a black comedy. It's really not that complicated. Man dying of terminal brain tumor decides to go around and do whatever the hell he wants before his death because he won't be around for the long-term consequences.
The fact that it's a black comedy makes it worse. This is supposed to be FUNNY?

I'm sure there is nothing thematic, metaphorical or satirical about it at all.
It better not be. The only thing worse than a profoundly screwed up mentality captured on film is brazen hypocrisy captured on film.
Can you describe the hypocrisy for me? How is the film indulging in what it apparently means to condemn (or criticize)? Sorry if I seem a dummy but it is not self evident to me.

Also, am I the only person who knows Bobcat as a director primarily because of Windy City Heat? I really liked that one, so I will see this if I can.
Basically, if the film is going to criticize the "kill all the assholes" fantasy while simultaneously reveling in it (ie. gives cathartic pleasure to the audience from it), it gives two opposite messages. Hence, hypocrisy.

Well, I quite liked Shakes the Clown, but this doesn't really look like an octafish film.

I don't know if it's really a spoiler, but

The viewers who are cheering him on in the beginning become the targets later on. The end message is about judgement and ignorance.

Looks like a funny concept, but overall, the execution (no pun intended) seems sloppy and without any substantial message or themes, akin to a film like [a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106856/"]Falling Down[/a]
Falling Down was instantly what I thought of... I love that movie, I don't think many could do a similar sort of concept better. It was just awesome. No glorification, I simultaneously hated and sympathised with the guy. Awesome. If this manages to pull that off it would be cool, but I don't know what the message they're trying to put across will be.

I'd probably give it a go, at least.

Yeah... the main characters in this movie reminds me allot of the main characters in Super... Might still be interesting though...

I just finished the trailer. It looks like it could be a fun movie to watch with a few friends on a slow night, but the only problem I have is that the movie is titled "God Bless America," there is a lot wrong with America, but I hate being generalized as another "stupid American."

Seriously, I'm an AP student, I don't like fast-food, I'm interested in history, literature and I'm studying theater. What part of that makes me an obese, fart-joke-loving neanderthal?

I think you missed the entire point of the movie

No, I got it pretty well. A man get's a brain tumor, so he goes out to kill everyone who represents that which is wrong with America because he won't be alive to face the consequences. It just bothers me that the sarcastic title implies that America is just this awful place full of awful people.

So the moral of this movie is; If your dying, morality is non-existent?

I get revenge against people who wronged you, but what happened to the good old days when taking a dump in the coffee pot would suffice?

A slightly less jaded person than myself would ask if this were typical of Americans (the movie being God Bless America), but someone such as myself has to as; Is this typical of humans in general?

Thing is sir I'm a intelligent youthful individual like yourself doing AP classes out of high school and now in college, thing is though is that you and I are the MINORITY that's what's messed up about America right now is that we don't appreciate or rather value intelligent thinking and that's what this movie is trying to point out. "Why have a civilization who is no longer interested in being civilized" is the barest form of the point in this movie and rings true for a lot of people including myself. America is a awful place full of awful people and the nice and good parts of it are swept under by the majority which is full of loundmouthed a**holes.

After being bogged down with all that BS that they show in the opening of that trailer, I'm surprised someone hasn't made this movie sooner. As far as I'm concerned, that man is doing what nobody else in society has the balls to do, and I love it! Opening day for sure! :D
...So you're saying that, if you had bigger balls, you would kill every slightly annoying ass you could find?
Wow, talk about putting words in someone's mouth... If I said something like that in regards to a SAW like tortune porn flick, then you could raise the alarms, but for something that looks like a satirical comedy? Really? This movie appeals to me, because this reminds me of assholes I have to deal with everyday, and also reminds me of all the bull I have to deal with on television (which I can no longer stand to watch). I mean really, do you think the world would mourn the death of one of those girls from Sweet 16, or if a group of hate spouting radicals were mowed down? If I was to see something that in the news, I'd probably say "good!". However, If I can't see it in real life, I'd be much more than happier to see it in a movie, especially if it'll give me a few laughs in the process.

Also, if you can't see the comedy in this, or never thought to yourself "hey, I can relate to something like that," not even once, then no offense, but you probably dont have to interact with actual people, are too young to understand about assholes in the real world, or are just a liar.

Do you understand the concept of catharsis? Black comedy & satire are incredibly closely related in dramatic terms. It could certainly be argued that they present an ideal vehicle for cathartic release as well as ethical & political debate. Look at Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead for a similarly dark, biting comedy which addresses existentialism. Oedipus Rex is incredibly bloodthirsty, but embodies the principle of catharsis. Dr. Strangelove is widely considered one of the best satires & blackest of comedies, yet it ends in nuclear annihilation at the hands of an utter madman.

Catharsis is nothing to do with pleasure, it's the release of suppressed emotions through an external medium. I don't know whether the film under discussion does contradict itself in the ways that you suggest, but if it does it would depend on how those contradictions are contextualized. The contradiction you seem to find perplexing is exactly the reason I'd expect something like this to provoke debate on those very subjects.
