I just picked my copy up today and I must say, it's incredible. God of War II was a vast improvement over the first quality wise, polishing up the movelists and impressive boss battles. I figured 3 would be that kickass gameplay with some polished graphics and the continuation of the story. What I got was one of the most insane experiences I've played in a LONG time.
Visually, it's stunning. What I thought was a cinematic turned out to actually be gameplay graphics, and the monster and boss design is very vibrant with that barbaric touch so iconic in GoW. The combat and magic system has been touched up yet again, and while remaining challenging, the way attacks can flow makes it that much more fun to rip enemies apart.
The boss battles are even more over-the-top than ever, combining challenging attacks with the impressive finishers the series is known for. It seriously elevates rage and brutality to an art form. Kratos also has much more character interaction and expression than ever before.
Overall, a very solid, well-rounded piece. That $44M was well spent, and I suggest you grab a copy and tear face ASAP.
