Godzilla 2014 Full Body (in toy form)

I've been suspended for 14 days, so I'm kind of bored. Now what better way to enforce my forum traits than talking about G2014 (sure you're thrilled). Still it is interesting to hear what you guys think about the new Godzilla's look in its entirety. So here:

It gets a pass overall, but the spines are kind of short, and the feet are kind of odd, but what can you do?

Your thoughts?

Anyway, that thing looks...well....terrible. It looks like a really shitty T-Rex with brontosaurus legs.

Interesting. As you said the rhino feet and tiny spines are kind of disappointing, but this is way more "Godzilla" looking than the Godzilla that we got last time America tried to make one. (Still got my Zilla '98 Taco Bell cup holder though.)

I dunno, the head looks a bit small and it just seems generally kinda odd. But there have been more goofy looking Godzilla suites before, like that cookie monster lookin derp-zilla we got in "Vs. the Sea Monster" and a couple other 1960s entries. I dunno, the series has been officially and figuratively dead since "Final Wars" in 2004, so I'm still looking forward to this.

The resurrection won't be complete until we get a new King Ghidorah though.

OT: I thought Godzilla's spines were supposed to be bigger so he could collect radiation for his atomic breath.

Just lifted. Yeah that is how it works. For the record, it's Apatosaurus, not Brontosaurus.

It looks like classic Godzilla, just with better special effects. You know, same design, but the actor inside the costume is better hidden. Never really got into the series, but I'd say that bodes well for the new one. At least it doesn't seem to be making the same mistake as the Roland Emmerich movie.

It looks... more like the original Godzilla than the Emmerich version. That's it. But no doubt some nerd coven will have a raging fit about this anyway, and we'll have 2014's first nontroversy.

I personally think it looks pretty awesome, it at least looks better than that 90's Zilla.

Let's hope the movie proper continues the avoid the mistakes that 90's remake made.

I like the return to a more classic Godzilla. Although there is still a hint of 90s Godzilla which is nice.

Now maybe this is just a case of the movie monster getting lost in translation when turning it into a toy, but he looks a bit... limp. Nothing about him looks in any way threatening or imposing. I guess size really does matter.

I mean I know they were going for that 'man in a rubber suit' look, but a bit of creativity would've gone a long way.

That's a really dull model. It looks lazy and bored. I would've made it look really aggressive and left the characteristic spines alone.

The other two I grew up with look heaps better.

Well it's certainly Godzilla.
He's got dumb little t-rex arms and his head seems too small but I can tell that it's Godzilla. That's a good thing, right?

Well they decided that the main character should be someone the audience can identify with, and since we are apparently all in an obesity epidemic...

Let's hope this toy isn't a good representation of the actual on-screen appearance, otherwise I'd say it actually looks worse than the much maligned 1998 version.
