I'm already aware that I'm a loser. If I go alone then I won't even watch the movie. I'd just watch the seat next to me and Imagine i brought a girlfriend along.

I can not remember the last time I went to the movies, but I'm pretty sure I've never gone alone. I've considered going alone before, but never have.

I hate going to movies with anyone but my sister; she appears to be the only person who understands that, although sometimes talking is acceptable, IT USUALLY ISN'T.
But I do like going alone, especially in nearly empty theatres (I once had a completely empty one, for Smart People.

I've been going alone for several years now to the point going with others feels as awkward to me as going alone would feel to some of you guys. I go to watch the movie, take in the sounds, the sights, the story. Then again, I love movies, I try and watch as many as I can regardless of genre. Especially with the price of tickets now (£7,50) I don't want to spend my money to get interrupted, or have to explain things to anyone.

It may look weird but that's just how I work now.

I stopped going to the movies when I realized I get a better experience on my 42" than on some shitty looking screen (unless I'm paying out the ass for IMAX, which I've only ever done in the south cuz they serve beer).

That's a lie, I just went to see Inception. But for the most part, fuck da theatre.

like wise.

I'm an odd case when it comes to this. I keep saying funny things about the movies when im there, Unskipable-esc. People find the annoying and rude but i seem crazy if i do this to myself. I only ever really go to the movies when my friends push me into it.
This is the case for me. I usually only go to the cinema when my friends want to as i don't prticularly like going to my local cinema. My interests vary with theirs so I rarely do go and when I do it usually is rather boring for me. I'm supposed to go see Toy Story 3 soon, which is actually something me and my friends both want to see. Is it worth paying extra to watch in 3D?

nope, never have, never will

Off Topic: last time I went it was a mate of mine who tricked me into seeing Eclipse. Feels bad, man.

I almost always go on my own. I finish work at 4 and there's a large cinema opposite so if there's a film I fancy seeing, I wait until it gets an early showing (between 4&5) and go then. Because its relatively early in the day the cinema is usually pretty empty so there are minimal distractions.

One thing that is pretty annoying though is when you ask someone if they want to see a movie you're psyched about and they say that they're not interested; and then they see it on DVD and think that it was amazing. My case in point is 'Batman Begins', my mate said he wasn't bothered about it at all, and I couldn't find anybody else to go see it so waited 'til it was on DVD. Then my mate it on DVD before I did and thought that it was incredible, riled me up a bit.
This is one of the reasons why I go alone. I have very different taste in films compared to my friends and so if there's a film I fancy, but no-one else does, I go alone.

I like the idea of going alone. That way I won't be distracted by idiot friends and quietly enjoy the movie while other people deal with their idiot friends.

I have done a couple of times. Usually if there's something I want to watch that everyone has already seen or I want to watch something that nobody I know wants to see. And sometimes I just like to do shit on my own as well.

yeh i go to the movies by myself occasionally. I mean, while you're watching the movie, it shouldn't make any difference whether someone's with you or not, because you'd both just be watching the movie. Unless the person was annoying and distracted you from the movie, but why the hell would you go see a movie with them?

I don't go to the movies by myself often, but often I'll actually enjoy the movie more if i do so. because there is no one sitting next to me, i can take up more room, fart, do whatever.
