Great! Reminds me of the time when FPS multiplayer was fun!

Would be better if you could change the time, so set it to ~7sec so people have time to accurately snipe (but not camp) or to 1sec for pure, manic fun.

EDIT: Since people don't get it:

1. This is optional. As a great man once said: "Complaining about extras make you a tosser."

2. This is less of a way to prevent camping and more of a way to make the match more frantic.

3. This is Goldeneye, not Call of Duty. The game plays very different, and isn't very sniper friendly in the first place.

What if you simply stop moving because someone has come into the room to talk to you for 5 seconds? What if you're trying to take a highly difficult sniper shot? Standing still for 3 seconds is most certainly not necessarily for camping. Fantastic idea, terrible execution. I think this will get nerfed or removed quite soon.
A thousand times this. Now if they up it to like 10 seconds, then that would be a decent time frame, but standing still for 3 seconds is a million light years from the definition of camping. It's like the designers had no idea what real camping is.

Awesome. Might actually get this when it comes out, but they could bump it up to 5 or 7 seconds.

Edit:
Wow, after reading the comments it seems like half these people have never even played Goldeneye or realize it is on Wii only. In the tons of hours I spent on Goldeneye, I never once even remember seeing anyone snipe...

I know it is a stupid thing to care about but I wish that they hadn't changed the story. I don't see why they need to automatically change the story to match the year that the game is being released in.

I also hope one of the changes isn't the removal of Sean Bean.

Couldn't the campers just dance back and forth in one spot instead?

OT: finally justice!

They could use this to exercise the obese in the real world if it weren't for the humanitarian backlash that would follow.

Well, no more snipers then.

It's a shame, I love sniping. There's a sense that if someone wants to get you back, they have to be sneaky about it.

Campers and just SMG isiots hiding in corners.

Sure, fix camping with unnecessary restrictions, not good level design or the CoD solution (showing you where your killer is).

Actually, this isn't totally awful because it really depends on what kind of gameplay you're going for. If they're trying to make it the Unreal Tournament psychotic frag-fest, then this is the right choice. I just always pictured Goldeneye as just a little bit more restrained. I mean, you're James Bond, you're supposed to be suave and chill, not hyperactive crazy all-over-the-place man. Nevertheless, if it can recreate the classic memories and gives me a rocket launcher and some sticky bombs, I'll be happy!

I approve of this. Also, I read the comments as well. They probably never played it either. Or realized its a Wii Exclusive

Sounds like a plan. To those who don't like it, note its optional. So if you want to have a more traditional game(like you know, the run and gun gaming goldeneye had always had) you can have it on. To turn it into a snipers heaven, just turn it off. Now that was hard...

considering GE was a game where if you stood still, the "auto aim" would kick in, i dont see this bad at all, seems like a legitimate way to make people remember how "old school" shooters were played

"In my days you couldnt even aim, you had one red crossair and it was so anoying and always moving that you had better luck letting the auto aim take care"

"you coulndt hide behind a box, the wooden boxes exploded"

"if you heard a *blip* you were in a room filled with proximity mines, and if you found the right spot you could survive"

"you can shoot all you want, but only 1/3 of the bullets will be efective, because all the others just bounce off my poligonated body"

OH N64 goodness... i just played this a week ago with a friend... i had forgot how fun it was to watch someone die in one of the 6 (or 10?) pre rendered "deaths"

I agree with this statement. Just change the level design, so that there are no really high, hard to hit spots or alleys.
Still, it's an optional modifier, so complaining is silly. Might actually be fun, having to keep a'movin'

the only people who complain about camping are the ones who havent thought of a way to stop the campers, that what explosives and sneakiness are for.

theres not much more satisfying than a single pistol round to the back of the head of a camper who you snuck past to get to.

It doesn't necessarily sound like a "bad" idea, only 'cause it seems like you can choose whether you can use it or not. Though it does seem like it'd be a modifier that a lot of people would use just so they don't have to deal with campers. I like to do a little sniping now and then, just not spend the whole match pissing people off. Maybe this will lead to a lot more no scope, up close kills. (Or maybe I'm the only one crazy enough to bring a sniper rifle into close-quarters combat.)

So, in other words, "Oddjob Mode". At least no one could complain to anyone having an unfair advantage (unless Oddjob himself gets smaller and then it'd just be defeating the purpose of the modifier).

I think some people are missing the point. This is pretty much a game mode, and it won't apply to every single game you play. This means that some games will be like this, but most others won't. So don't worry, you can still snipe normally most of the time, but when you join a game with this mod, then standing still becomes counter-productive.
