That's the first time I've heard "enjoy" and "Near" in the same sentence. I hated him so goddamn much. I can appreciate them trying to do something different, but obviously there's going to be a lot of the tension and dynamic lost with them thousands of miles apart until the end, whereas light and L were dancing around each other all the time, and it was great. I won't rant too much, I realise it's just opinion, but at any rate my biggest beef was with the end. I get Light had to die, but the way they caught him out seemed so lackluster, because it was mikami's mistake, and Near got lucky. If it had been some act of overconfidence, seeing as L was gone, it would be a lot more fitting I think...
Also, to me, L was the protagonist, so there was that too. *sadface*
