Games: Devil May Cry 1-3 were good games, but the endings were lame. Resident Evil 3 was my fav until the ending and the city where the last three games took place was erased from the planet. Oblivion had an anticlimatic ending that made me feel like I did something wrong. Fallout 3 ENDED unless you had the expansion pack. Silent Hill Origins was just sad (Comparing them to 1-3).

Anime: Dragon Ball Z just couldn't pace itself. Code Gease made me hate every character regardless. Death Note was misserable a the end. Star Wars Episode 3 (Not an anime, but how can a super fighting force be killed off my lasers when they were clearly able to block and dodge them before?). Berskerk for NOT ending at all. Elfen Lied was an AWESOME anime but the ending was lackluster and made you want more.

The ending of Fallout 2 seemed a bit... eh. I mean, Frank Horrigan was pretty cool and all, but we're essentially shown two clips of him being a heartless bastard and then he wants to stop us from leaving the oil rig because... ?

You'd think somebody as heartless as Horrigan would want to get the hell out of that oil rig so he could continue terrorising people, not act as an arbitrary final boss. That said, it was rather cathartic to watch him split into two pieces before his death, so perhaps that makes up for it.

For me, it was either Borderlands or Far Cry 2. I'm sure everyone knows about Borderlands, but Far Cry forces you into a linear canyon for the last fifth of the game and then forces you to end by either
killing yourself in an explosion or shoot yourself in the head.

call of duty 3. 3, not 4. it was a pretty good shooter, and the story had an interesting perspective, but at the end i was like, "wait, what just happened?"

Diablo.

Not that anybody doesn't know it already, but I'll spoilerify it anyway...

"Okay, I just cut my way through twenty levels of monsters, defeated the Lord O' Terror and about a googleplex of other demons give or take a zillion, got the Gem O' Infinite Evilness that houses the demonic essence...now what should I do with this thing? How can I destroy this thing? Drop it into an active volcano? Smash it with an angelic hammer? Encase it in fifty tons of molten lead and drop it to the bottom of the ocean?

Ah, that's too much work, so I'll just jab it into my own forehead!

Oh yeah, and even though I was a female rogue for the entire game, now suddenly I'm a male warrior."

Psi-ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy loved the game but hate cliff hanger endings especially when the sequel doesn't get made.
That. And Beyond Good & Evil (I still don't understand what the fuck happens).

The end of RE5 why would you kill off the only character with personality
Not sure [that character] (keeping it spoiler-free for anyone that hasn't played) ever had personality past their original debut, but I enjoyed [that character]. [That Character] died in such a lack luster way that felt totally out of sync of [That Character]. :(
[that character] says [one of the main characters] name.... at the end of every sentence.

Fallout 3 and dragon age origins.

Spoilet alert for Dragon age, for you sensitive people:
The ending in dragon age was OK, but it all happend way to fast for me. Up until the meeting everything went slowly at my own pace, then it seemed like the game developers quit trying. Maybe they realised the game had gotten way to long, and since they'd spent more time then they'd thought they would, they chose to skimp out on the last part. Also, the last boss was way too easy!
Fallout 3 shouldn't even need explanation, it was simply weak.

Glad I'm not the only one. Every time I mention that I was disappointed with this ending, I get a few dozen people up my ass about it.

Assassin's Creed 2 wasn't bad, but terribly mind-fucking.
"OK, we've gone through a whole game involving Assassins, Templars and the like.

Let's throw a race that created humans, a war with them, and some weird crap in the last five minutes just in order to confuse everyone." - Ubisoft
I don't think it's fair to say they just threw it in. Clearly this was the plan all along; the Assassins vs Templars situation provided the introduction of the pieces of eden, then they delved further into the real situation of that whilst the assassins are still having to deal with the Templars.
Yeah, but they did just shove the whole thing into the end of the game.

Was it the ending of season 1 or 2 of code geass that you didn't like? I ask because I thought the ending of season 2 was tremendous and season 1's was kind of a cliffhanger.
Whichever was the end of Lelouch of the Rebellion.

God, that sucked
Totally agree with you there. I understand anime rarely have "nice" endings( unlike any Disney film ever made, lol) but that was just depressing.

I gotta say its halo ODST for me, the last level just didn't work with the rest of the game, me and my friends who were watching were epicly dissapointed.
