Good game, awful ending

Fallout 3

I've got the giant mutant that's immune to radiation standing 2 feet from me, yet I go inside the room only to die a horribly pointless death? God that's stupid... (No I didn't play any expansions. The stupidity of that ending was enough for me.)

Halo 3. It's built up to be this huge epic, and then you stop the covenant 2 levels before the ending, You destroy gravemind in the second to last level, and then the last level is basically just picking off the stragglers from high charity. Plus it had one of the lamest "last bosses" of all time.

Bioshock 2, but i'm mainly saying that because, as I have said many times before, THE SINGLE PLAYER IS WAY TOO SHORT!!! *ahem* Prototype also had a crap ending.

Alone in the Dark, whatever you do you're screwed. I took the evil ending, safe in the knowledge that, whatever the game seemed to think, it was the right thing to do

I adored Psychonauts, but the last level. Was. So. Frustrating. The actual ending cinematic and such was okay, but the final section which wasn't a boss fight. Man oh man, I have almost never been so frustrated at a game before.
Oh, and Borderlands' ending was pretty bad too, anti-climactic after that whole area being pretty cool.

What game have you played that you loved all the way up until the awful, waste of time finale?

For me it was borderlands. I really couldn't care less about lack of story, i loved getting guns and raiding old Haven and shooting crimson lance. But i made the connection of "opening Pandora's box" before i left the starting area. (spoiler snipped)
Borderlands. I liked it, i hated it so much. What about you guys?

Chrono Cross is the epitome of this for me. I absolutely loved that game, and I still do in spite of it's horrible ending.

Bioshock 1.

The ending was pants, I didnt like the fact the woman was like you SCUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMM because 1 killed one little sister. What ever happened to majority rule?

Also Fable 2. Good game - mostly, WORST ENDING EVER. MOLYNEUX CURSE YOUR GUSHY SMUSHY ENDING!

Fallout 3. I'd like to finish the main quest but still carry on playing when I buy the bloody game plzkthx, Bethesda. I don't want to have to buy add-ons to get what your other RPGs already have.

Also, I thought Bioshock 2 had an incredibly lackluster ending.

I disagree I thought that Bioshock 2 had a brilliant ending.

On the other hand Bioshock (the original) had a pretty poor ending.

EDIT: Btw, everybody who are complaining about Fallout 3 should know that if you got the ghoul follower you can tell him to go "in there".

The ending for Fable 2 is just really underwhelming, as is the case for BioShock 1 and 2. All good games, but the endings were lackluster to say the least.

Also Fallout 3 had a bit of a rubbish ending, I finished it before I bought the expansions. The fact that you had a 8-foot tall Super Mutant following you who is pretty much immune to radiation, your character decides it would be a good idea for you to go in the chamber and type in the override code instead.

I'm going with the Prince of Persia Epilogue DLC as worst ending ever. The original ending required some suspension disbelief but wasn't bad, but the DLC ending was just stupid and a complete letdown.

How can you criticize a game with multiple moral choice endings?

The same way I could criticize any game. For me, it was a hackneyed plot, that only succeeded by playing off of the immense success of the first game. As far as the multiple endings, this is nothing new, games have been offering differing conclusions for years.
