Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne

story was CRAP... and that is putting it waaaaaaay to nicely.
I really liked the gameplay and features, but shit was its story bad.
How was it bad? I'm not disagreeing (although to a degree, I am). I'm just curious.

Let's see... "Skies of Arcadia: Legends". Challenging bosses, delightfully fresh flying pirate ship-to-flying pirate ship combat, vast epicness and grandiose story and telling of, juxtaposed poorly with random-encounter turn-based combat, stupid voice acting and tedious dungeons.

How 'bout: Uncharted 2: Great game with a horrible protagonist. Seriously, Yahtzee was actually right about this one. He's just a cliche. And not only that, he's an inconsistent cliche. He should feel some kind of remorse after killing literally hundreds of dudes. And he should have a better motivation for treasure hunting. Seriously, the guys spends all his free time sipping booze on a tropical beach. Does he really need any more riches?

Assasin's Creed.
Murders were fun. Graphics were nice. Those information gathering quests were extremely tedious.

I seriously didn't think those were that bad, they were actually really fun in my opinion...
I'm with this guy. HL2 driving sections weren't that bad. They actually made a nice break from the normal gameplay. The only real problem with them was they were about two loading sections too long. It just dragged on way too long.

OT: I'm gonna have to go with FFX. I liked everything about the game except the English voice acting. It was so atrociously bad for about 80% of the game, especially that one scene. If you've played the game, you know exactly which I'm referring to.

The last remnant, it's brilliant, but the combat system [and on the xbox, the horrible load times] make me want to hit things. I would really prefer to be able to do more than just give a vague suggestion about what to do when the worlds fate hangs in the balance. [ "Hey uh... how about you go over there and heal them. You will? Great!" *minutes later* "Hey guys, I though you were gonna go heal them, not run face first into the giant dragon and get your faces melted off"]
This. I really liked the game overall. But i would like to have more control of what skills my characters does. Especially later in game where your mages have a shitload of spells and you choose (Use spell) and want the biggest and most damageing one but uses the weakest. Really frustrating. I have it one PC so the loading time wasnt that bad.

Halo series past 1. I realized I actually really like Halo overall, I just hate most of its big "fans" since so many I meet who say they are never played the campaigns.

Going to go with a game I almost never see mentioned and say Armored Core 4. Everything in it was great.... except the story. Weak, hard to follow and once you do start to follow it, you see just how generic it actualy is.

Wizadry 8. A great game, but the combat had one really stupid part. It took too long! Some of the monster hit animations took forever, and with 8 guys hitting a turn ( and they normally hit more than once) it could take forever. Nessie was very guilty of this crime.

Otherwise it was an awesome game.

Bioshock was a great game with a terrible ending.

Assassin's Creed was an interesting game, with garbage combat and also a bad ending.

Modern Warfare 2 was an alright game with a fucking garbage campaign and also a terrible ending.

Actually, most game endings these days are pretty bad.

Phantom Dust... The game was amazing I loved it so much, but the music was just SO bland the entire game demanded some weird trippy ambient music, or some serious heavy metal, all we get is this weird and extremely slow/boring music.

Bad Company 2 is unholy levels of awesome. I just discovered the War Tapes sound setting, plugged in my headphones and turned the volume up really high. My brain exploded from the amount of awesome.

but...

The server browser interface thingy is just god-awful. You can't even leave a game after a match, you either have to shut down the game completely or wait for the new game to start. And if you do that you close the entire multi-player lobby. It gets very tedious.

I loved them to bits. Especially the buggy one where you drove past the shore. The feeling of desolation, decay and despair was so incredibly well-done.

And my góds getting chased by that chopper during the waterboat section....holy hell that was brilliant. It was the moment where you, the hunted, finally became the hunter.

MGS2 - the swimming parts
Mario 64 - the swimming parts
Batman: Arkham Asylum - the Croc part
Uncharted 2 - the insanely large and impossible-to-make-if-you're-aren't-a-robot temple part with Thezin.

I'm sure there are plenty more, but why do developers still put water in their games?
