I loved them to bits. Especially the buggy one where you drove past the shore. The feeling of desolation, decay and despair was so incredibly well-done.

And my góds getting chased by that chopper during the waterboat section....holy hell that was brilliant. It was the moment where you, the hunted, finally became the hunter.
From a gameplay point of view though they had terrible controls and the camera angles made it difficult to see anywhere but straight in front of you.

Only so they could keep it in a first person perspective which is a stupid reason for forcing such bad gameplay

I seriously didn't think those were that bad, they were actually really fun in my opinion...

But yeah. I'd go with Sonic Heroes, with its damn horrible voice acting. The game is actually pretty fun, the leveling system is rather interesting, but the voices of the characters just make me want to kill something. That fucking game made me hate Tails for the rest of my life.
did you try and get the gnome on the rocket on Ep1? i had to jump the bridge so many times, and kept having to run back to the gnome after it fell out the car. over then that not too bad

OT: Freedom fighters is a great game with an interesting if a touch flatter then it cold be story, but on gamecube (not sure about ps2 and xbox) aiming was 8-point, so you had to navigate axis to shoot someone in aim mode

Lineage 2 is a really good game but the god awful amount of bots and farmers that reined supreme after the 3rd chronicle destroyed the experience.

I remember in Super Mario 64, the swimming and flying was a pain in the ass to adjust to.

The Silent Hill games have stories that range from above-average to exemplary, but a lot of the dialogue in the series' original iterations comes across as having lost something in translation.

Strange, I was never bothered with the controls that much, I found pretty much all the vehicles pretty easy to use. Sure it was no racing sim, but it got the job done for me.

Jumping was rather fickle, but it wasn't like the routes you had to drive were very complicated. You're right on the camera angles as well, but then again, I never really felt the need to look anywhere else than ahead of me.

Nah can't say I ever had real problems with HL2's driving. Maybe I just overlooked the dodgy controls thanks to the amazing atmosphere pretty much every driving section (and, well, the whole game) created.

And yet, they're some of the best driving sections in gaming history.

Ontopic, Sauerbraten's new viewmodels. They switched to old-fashioned WW2-ish weapons in the Trooper Edition release, while keeping CTF edition's sci-fi sounds. Now you have a revolver that makes a distinct PAFF sound.

Loading times in My life as a king. That game was awesome, but when I build a house later in the game, in takes ages. Damn Wii and its limited download size

And the voice acting was just hórrible.

Then there's also Mafia 2, which I adored, but sadly the story was so predictable and it lacked in the actual free roaming department. And of course this:
I loved it already, but it could've been so much better.

Some of the challenges in TimeSplitters: Future Perfect.

Seriously, they were fucking ridiculous.

Also, the disturbing lack of actual TimeSplitter characters at all. TSFP only got one subset of the things. What.

Still, it's a fantastic game with one of the best OSTs around.

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne

story was CRAP... and that is putting it waaaaaaay to nicely.
I really liked the gameplay and features, but shit was its story bad.
How was it bad? I'm not disagreeing (although to a degree, I am). I'm just curious.
It just always seemed wrong... your a teenager that just survived the apocalypse w/ about 5 other people. You go around by yourself and when ever you run into one of the few survivors it was always like you just bumped into them at the supermarket. "Hey how you been, long time no see, well catch you later...etc. etc."

So I guess it was more character interplay w/ each other that was crap more so than the story itself.

Baten Kaitos 1 Great game, novel combat system that takes a bit to get used to. Interesting storyline (and for me the best villain in game history). Then you get the god-awful voice acting. Some characters read their lines with the emotion of a stone. Never happier you could switch of voice acting.

Banjo Kazooie and its sequel, Banjo Tooie. Two of my favorite games of all time. Amazing gameplay, humor, and overall fun. However, one thing that bothers and annoys the shit out of me is the garbled squeaking that comes from each character repeatedly as they go through their text-box speeches.

Seriously, it's annoying, and I can't turn it off like in Animal Crossing.

Case and point, every character's speech, ever.

"RAAAH, ree rah Reeehh, raaahh raaaah, bloop, booop blup, bloop bloop."

Seriously. It drives me up the damn wall.

Borderlands - The Ending felt kinda rushed (although the new DLC is going to do SOMETHING with it.)

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune - The vehicle sections were pretty bad and the game wasn't that long.

Metro 2033 - The shooting is a bit off, it was a bit short and I'm still not sure how the Gas Mask system works.

Assassins Creed - Not much variety in the missions so it all feels a bit tedious after a bit.

Fallout 3 - A world full of possibilities but I'm slowly trudging down the brown desert fighting the same 2 Giant Radscorpians when I'm done.

No they aren't, terrible controls to look, heavy vehicle feel and poorly designed areas to drive in (such as all of the jumping sections. The rest of the game is fantastic and episode 2 it was better, but Half life 2 driving sections were terrible

Just Cause 2. The game is so much fun, but the voice acting is so damn terrible it makes me want to shove a spoon in my ear, so that the pain will go away.

_AI and squad controls.

Damn you Dragon Rising!!!

Seriously, the game would have been pure gold if this could have been fixed.

On a separate note, if anyone is interested in the game, the PC version is now selling at Gamestop for $10. Win. Never been so glad that my PC is up to snuff.

That actually makes sense. They're regular humans, and you are some sort of growing god. Yet you have scraped against death countless times and they're hardly scratched. That doesn't make sense. Yeah, the character interactions left a lot to be desired.
