What I love is that he explained that they retreated from deeper in the cavern, so that means that he knew that the trap was there......

In KOtoR, if you order a party member to disarm a trap they'll often just run headlong into it. Which I suppose technically disarms it, but they're doing it wrong...

bahahahahaha.

I never did play Oblivion all that much. I guess that wasn't meant to happen? How would an AI avoid that huge trap?

But yeah. Crap like that has happened to me a lot of times throughout my life playing videogames.

Far Cry 2. I had just cleared out a road checkpoint and noticed a jeep loaded with goons driving towards me from quite a ways away. I was pretty hurt and decided to try and hide out inside a shack as it drove by. But I guess one of them saw my kneecap poking out of the doorway and they began barreling towards me at full speed. I stood up and stared down the grill of the jeep as it headed straight towards me.

Except in between me and the jeep, was a huge gas pump. The goons crashed right into the gas pump and annihilated themselves.

As formidable as the AI can be in Far Cry 2 or Crysis, they're also insanely stupi-Why are the shitty captcha's back!?

Forget how many times Oblivion does this in quests, but NPCs that meet an untimely death at the beginning of a seemingly large quest is supposed to install some "Oh gosh, I'm all alone on this one!" feeling into the player. However there are several genuine stupid NPC moments, like NPCs that seem to retardedly walk into traps, fields of fire, take on other NPCs that would wreck their s**t in less that 5 seconds (yes I'm looking at you WOW!) and others that think it's OK to walk into your field of fire and blame you for carving/shooting them up like they had been engaged without provocation (Oblivion all over). I wish NPCs would seriously get programmed to stay out of the way and be helpful at the same time, a sword fight against one NPC boss is hard enough without 16 pairs of limbs blocking the 2 pairs your trying to score a hit on.

And what's this? Recaptcha?

I love the conversation. Am I angry or scared? I can't choose! I'll just alternate!

The necromancers from the Mages Guild Quest line in Oblivion are all retarded, I swear.

"Yeah, we're all spellcasters in tattered robes, of course we'll run up to talk to you before a fight. It doesn't matter if you're holding that big beefy sword."

Keep some distance if you want to last more than 3 seconds you morons.

Isn't there another spot like that in oblivion but the guy runs straight into a trip wire which set of a stock in the roof that kills him?

Yeah, the other thing is that even if you can get him through the trap alive (with some effort) he doesn't do anything. Once the quest is over he starts walking back to the entrance... triggering the trap once again.

Crush me once, shame on you. Crush me twice, I'm dead.

Ah yes, I remember that. I treid to save him by running into the trap myself but he still got himself killed.
I had one pretty similar to that in guild wars tho it was a glitch so I gues it doesn?t really count.
Prince Rurik referring to a camp full of enemy Char: "This is a fight we cannot win. We must avoid a confrontation with that group at all costs... For Ascalon! BLLARRGHHHH"*Runs straight into the middle of the camp and dies*
