Hi, recently I've been enjoying Space pirates and zombies and I was wondering what are similar games to that. I've tried FTL, but I'm not into roguelikes. I also like top down shooters, but most of them are made in flash or are complete crap, so are there any games like that. Graphics aren't important, although I'm not a fan of 2.5D.

Off the top of my head, I can remember Soldat and Notrium.

Super meat boy is a challenging platformer, but I'm searching for something that I can spend some time in the game and progress, SMB is fun in short bursts. I don't have anyone to play Terraria with, and like Minecraft, I don't enjoy it solo.

Gonna check out Lone survivor.

Call of Cthullu and Breath of Death are 2 silly RPGs which have a surprisingly good combat system, if you like the old style.

Project zomboid looks interesting, anything else? I'm looking for 2d games with more depth, not necessarily RPGs.

Already played. Not into platformers. Also, you can't beat the original Rayman. It has style tho.
This.
The original Rayman is just so much better. Better music, more variety in art style, and IMO more challenging and rewarding gameplay. The completionist bit at the end of the game is a bit of a downer, but to see all of the content in Rayman Origins you have to do the same thing.

Regardless of what people say, New Super Mario Bros (Original, Wii, 2, WiiU) are all very fun 2-D platformers (Or 2.5-D if you wanna be specific). Yes, Nintendo is cashing in on them, but they're fun regardless.

I'm on my pc with a full HD monitor. Sometimes it doesn't cut it for the nostalgia, and there can be widescreen issues. Also, older games looked better on older TVs.

So nobody has anything in the line of SPAZ?

Not modern, but it doesn't matter...sprite graphics never go out of style! (And I'm not just saying that because sprite graphics are my favorite)

Soul Nomad and the World Eaters, Zettai Hero Project, Makai Kingdom, Disgaea series, Odin Sphere, ClaDun 1/2...

Lone Survivor was pretty fun. Has a very Silent Hill vibe to it, if that's your thing.

Yume Nikki will completely blow your mind.

Are there any indie 2d rpgs? Really need a game that I can play for some time. Like SPAZ or Notrium for example. Oh I just remember Iji.

EDIT: What the hell was I thinking forgetting about Cave Story.
Limbo was fun, but I kinda want some replay value.
