anyway OT: I would go with FFVII if you have never played it. It has recently been re-released on PC so it should be easy to set up and play on modern systems but yeah its fairly old now.
I suppose there is Dragon age origins on PC thats the last party based RPG I played and got some enjoyment out of on PC anyway.
