Good songs that make you feel like shit

Let's see, Coma White by Marilyn Manson has a tendency to be pretty depressing to me. Actually a lot of his stuff from his 2 most recent albums is pretty sad.

Someone already said Tears in Heaven by Clapton, tragic song. Nothing Compares 2 U Sinead O'Connor's version. Eleanor Rigby by The Beatles.

Exit Music (For A Film) by Radiohead. It's an amazing song (and, for some reason, one of my favourite from OK Computer), but it really is depressing.

And, as mentioned earlier, Hurt by Nine Inch Nails (and Johnny Cash's cover) has the same effect on me as well.

Exit Music is really amazing, but depressing. All of Radiohead's music is sort of like that, though.

Personally, though, I've gotta say As She Came Out of the Water by Matt Bauer is way up there. Including Bauer's voice, there are like three instruments at work in that song, and it manages to have more visceral emotional power than just about anything out there. That said, it makes me feel miserably depressed.

Doesn't really make me feel like shit, it just makes me cry every time I hear it.

Love Hate Love by Alice in Chains. Indifference/Black/I Am Mine/Alone by Pearl Jam. Wings for Marie Pt2 by Tool. They all make me come across very emotional. Incidentally all some of my favourite songs!

On the flipside though there is a lot of songs on my phone/mp3 player/washing machine that fill my heart with Joy in the drop of a note.

I think the two of us may be the only ones who know this song.


I'd say Moonlight sonotta, yes I know it's not a song, but it always makes me very depressed.
