Isn't Amnesia getting a sequel, though? That's why I didn't put it in my list.Matthew94 said:Amnesia TDD
So-o-o, you're saying that you can have amnesia about the first game and still play the other one. How very...appropriate.SweetShark said:Yes, but it is a stand-alone title.DoPo said:Forgot about that. Damn, now I want to play it.Matthew94 said:XIII

You don't need to know about the first Amnesia game.....I think...
*Plot Twist?*
Really? you?re not just playing with heart? Awesome!Reaper195 said:I'd say Mirror's Edge, but it was announced a while ago that there would FINALLY be a sequel.
Yep. After all these years of finding out almost everyone didn't like it because 'there wasn't enough guns and combat', turns out enough people liked it to get a sequel. As long as it doesn't end up devolving into guns. I hope the gunplay is as shitty as the first, since that was one of the main reasons I ended up running on walls to escape.DementedSheep said:Really? you?re not just playing with heart? He asked me to name good games which aren't sequels and do no HAVE sequels
It was at this point that I was slightly stumped.
So I decided to pass this question to you, how many good(being subjective) stand-alone game titles.
As of now, I only have:
Bayonetta
God Hand
Psychonauts
He does not count reboots or certain reimaginings(apparently, Ico and shadow of the colossus are related)
Red Dead Redemption is a sequel my good man, to Red Dead Revolver.Mcoffey said:Red Dead Redemption. Yeah Rockstar would be stupid not to make another "Red" free-roam western game, but it's unlikely to have any connection to redemption.
Your PS2 bookcase has reminded me: Alien Hominid is fucking kick ass and standalone.EHKOS said:I Ninja
Legend of Kay
Psi-Ops
I have a bookcase full of PS2 titles that never got any spotlight.
EDIT: Oh, and Call of Duty. That was fun defending that tank factory from German Panzerschreks.
YES YES YESTerratina. said:I can't say this enough:
Resonance of Fate
Folklore
Seriously, they may not be prefect but these games do thing differently and do it well.
From what I've heard, yes. But I haven't been able to find a copy yet so I might just find it online.SkarKrow said:This may have come up but; The World Ends With You
Seriously, play it, it's absolutely brilliant, kick ass soundtrack too.
I was gonna say. I was thinking, "Wasn't there ANOTHER western game last generation that had "red dead" in it or was I just imagining things"SkarKrow said:Red Dead Redemption is a sequel my good man, to Red Dead Revolver.Mcoffey said:Red Dead Redemption. I played the spec ops games back when I was a wee lad. Believe me, seeing that it had a new sequel was surprise enough. After hearing from Yahtzee what it was about, even more soMcoffey said:While I didn't know that the name was from an established series, The Line is completely divorced from those other games.
