Thoughts on this? I personally have no interest and find this continued push to make games something only the well off can use a sad trend.

And...it's not coming to Australia anytime soon.

Well that makes things simple for me.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I don't see it working. I don't trust stream gaming in general, I've got a steam link and even it has some latency which makes really actiony games hard to play with it, fantastic for rpg and slower paced games though but the amount of lag in it can impact a game like dark souls.

People hate lags in multiplayer, they tolerate it because there's literally no other choice. Why would anyone want that in single player game?

It juts seems like there's not really any target audience, the idea would be that it's cheaper than getting a gaming PC, but people who can't afford gaming PC probably won't have that great internet so this will be terrible for them. People who pay for amazing internet probably have enough money to just buy a good rig. Maybe for the like 5 towns that have google fiber that might be worth it if they can consistently have lower than 20 ms ping, but otherwise it's going to just be awful experience.

At the same time hardware upgrade have significantly slowed over the last couple of years, my graphic card is over 4 year old and was already mid range at release and it's still does pretty darn good. If I do upgrade I won't put more than 200-300$ and I'll get something pretty good for that price that'll last me another couple of years. This juts feel like steam console all over again.

Wow a video that revealed absolutely no information. Lets all get wildly excited for the prospect of the possibility of a thing that might interest us maybe. -_-

I live in Montana.

The main obstacle to stream gaming is literally the speed of light.

So good luck with that, Google

It runs everything via a streaming service, so places with less than stellar Broadband speeds are cut from their player base immediately. Just speaking from my personal experience, of my ~20 friends on XBL only three of us have speeds in excess of 80Mbs, and 8 of those people have speeds below 12Mbs.

Unfortunately this seems like a product of Silicon Valley made by people who are unaware that everywhere is not Silicon Valley.

These companies clearly somehow still don?t seem to grasp the reality of modern infrastructure and how lacking it is, especially for something as technically demanding as the gaming medium. Hell, we still can?t even stream movies reliably at Blu-Ray quality picture and sound, regardless of how many hundred gigabytes a given ISP touts. If this streaming garbage is the future of gaming I?ll just stick to playing older games. I sure as hell have enough of them to keep me occupied.

A player can get used to lag if they have no choice. The concept of the mainstream audience being less picky (specially in games that aren't fast paced) is probably what made them think this is a good idea. Also, being able to buy the game one is watching in a YouTube stream surely had the investors salivating.

"You wouldn't download a car."

No, wait... It's a piece of hardware too? I thought it was a streaming platform. Huh.

The definition of pretentiousness is this video, holy fuck balls.

Oh and Twitch already exists, and your version sounds way too '1984' Orwellian.

Maybe just premature? I had some good experiences with Onlive back in the day. I'd think soon it will be about as common as having a wireless router in your home.
