You guys are overeacting. I doubt a cat wants to be spayed or neutered either but we do that. I'd say getting your balls chopped off is much worse than a simple piercing.

It's stupid, it's vanity, but all this "WAAAAAHHH CALL PETA" shit is dumb.
Hey, WHOA, chill out, doc. It's the expression of opinions, not damn us with evangelistic repore. No need to get your nuts in a twist, man.
Yea and I just expressed my opinion. Thanks for the worthless reply, doc!
You expressed an offensive one. Drop it.

You guys should visit a farm and see what new born livestock go through before they grow up to be your dinner. It ain't pretty, but shit happens. It's a lot worse that a couple of ear piercings, let me tell you.
But the animal is being made for that special purpose which is to provide sustanance for people to eat. I can understand that. What I do not understand is the desperation for pet store owners to go out of their way to market their pets as special pets and mutilate them for higher prices because of some earrings. The point of buying a pet is for companionship and also teach responsiblity to care for other living beings. I can't even stand people who dress up their animals but I can tolerate it because it is their pet.
Isn't the purpose of a pet also to 'dress' a person? Look at the little dogs that prance around anorexia-celebs. I'm sure they don't want to be put in little Nike sneakers. Still, the animal is bred for the decorative purpose. Maybe these Kittens are, too.

If was just the ears than fair enough, though sticking a spike through its neck fold seems kinda nasty. I hope there werent people really paying that much money for a kitten just because it had some bits of metal sticking out of its head

I find this sickening and disturbing, cat lover that I am. Would you really want a baby with a nose ring, pierced ears, and a pierced neck? In my opinon, baby cats should be given the same respect as human spawn. Given the two species' track records, humans have done more to warrant senseless cruelty, and not cats.

That stupid ***** honestly didnt see the difference between piercing a cats ear and a humans ear!?, How retarded is she!?

She seriously dont see the difference between a human choosing to pierce his/her ears to look good and forcing piercings onto a cat for personal gain!?

WTF is wrong with the world we live in?

I say shoot the *****, that way the world will become a better (and smarter) place, cause she's one of those people who drag the average IQ down just by being alive.

(And yes, i love cats.)

OK I can understand dressing it up if it's a little chihuahua and you live in a cold area.

Anything else is torture.

You fail to see that it's a cat. While a kitten is a baby cat, it's still a cat. They've done just as bad(waste of resource production, and at times atrocious resource consumption).

Humans have done both good and bad, killed and saved lives. People like you only seem to see that we kill, and that is wrong.

Actually, people do pierce their babies ears if they choose to. It's completely legal.
I really hate it when parents do that.

First of all, having a "gothic kitten" seems pretty lame. It just seems like "yeah, society can't control me or my cat! Take that world!" Also, the fact that it does harm the creatures just makes it worse.

let me first say that I really love cats. let me say secondly that I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with giving them a piercing so long as it doesn't cripple or disfigure them or cause them substantial pain. The ancient Egyptians who worshiped the cat as a god would often venerate them with earrings and nose rings. Ive got to say that I have far less problem with a person who decides to give a cat an earring than I do with someone who wants to breed a cat into a myriad complex of health disorders like a Siamese or a Persian. I believe that a number of purebred organizations have through their enthusiasm for inbreeding done far more damage to cats than the occasional piercing ever could. I want to get a silver cuff earring for my cat now with my phone number on in, He always ditches any new collar within 2 weeks.

What a complete dumbass.

How many humans use their tails and earslobes as their means of sensing and emotions? NONE!

How many cats? ALL OF THEM.

Idiot.

I'm totally against tail bobbing. Which is one of the approved modifications that people make to their animals all the time, I oppose it almost as much as declawing.

That said If you don't think people use their "tail" to communicate emotions then I imagine you have a relatively empty social calendar.

I think the scary part (all cruelty aside) is that there is actually a market for that kind of thing.

Not that I think it should be done to any animal, but I wonder if there would be more buyers if the woman pierced black chihuahuas and offered cute skull print bags for carrying them. If we're going to be that mean to animals, why not go overboard and accessorize?

I have to laugh at this, or I will cry myself to death.

that's pretty lame, gothic cats by a 34 year old woman.

they pierce babies ears, why not cats, i'm sure it doesn't bother them any more than a person.

and before i'm labeled insensitive, i have a cat at home whom i love to death, and i've never harmed her in any way, not so much as a loud noise to scare her away from being bad.

i love kitties :)
