What form of government do you believe is better suited to rule.
Any form of government you wish and please list why and the pros and cons of having such a government.

Please tell me if something like this has been done recently. I checked up to the third page and did not see anything like this so i apologise if it has been done to death already.

I want to know your views on government.
What form of it you think would work better in todays world and in the future. (Democracy, Communism, etc.).

I think there have been numerous threads like or similar to this. Though I could be wrong, either way. The best type of government is Democracy by far. As long as there is time to do an election and what-not, it's great.
Yes but why is it great?
Also what are some of its faults?

I personally feel that socialism is the way to go. Now before everyone chews my head off let me justify this view point. *ahem*
965 000 google results for searching england stabbing

shit like that http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,170125,00.html
and there are many others i'm sure you've all seen them. [insert idiot A name] took a gun and shot [insert Parent/stranger/schoolmate name] and then killing himself.
Oh yeah remember that one with the kid shooting himself after playing with his dad's gun? It was on kotaku awhile back i'll dig it up and link it here later if i can find it.

But yeah, daily there are people getting stabbed. For NO reason whatsoever. Wrong place, wrong time and *stab* they're gone.

I'm all for democracy. Unfortunately the idiots get rights too so they are allowed to go around stealing, stabbing, shooting, raping etc. Of course we could have a mass culling of said idiots but NOOOOO that's violating human rights they say.... 0.o

Seriously though? I'm dead serious about this. Some sort of middle ground between democracy and socialism should be made. Everyone loses a few rights here and there but we can save so many lives that are needlessly lost daily.

Edit: When i say add socialism to democracy, i mean on the legal side of things. Not politics, politics should always remain in the area of democracy.

Democracy is useless. Democratic Republics seems to do decently.
Also, did you consider how the form of government might be influenced by what economic system is implemented? (Is the democracy a capitalist system?)

our Representative Democracy, or Republic, is the best WHEN the voters take the time to be halfway intelligent and informed, and the people who run for office do so with the interest of the people rather than self serving interest.

Either that, or a Benevolent Dictatorship where the top man actually gives a rats rear end about the people instead of himself.

Communism's more of an socioeconomic thing than government.

I'm liking the whole federal republic thing the US has got down. People are too busy to make laws, we elect people to do that, and if we don't like them, we can get rid of them pretty fast.

You know, it's like Democracy for the fast-paced world we live in.

Plus it practically lets us pick our economy. Vote Democrat for some big ol' government controls and legislation, at the risk of stifling economic growth but with more security, or Republican for a more laissez-faire approach, at the risk of wealth being concentrated in the wallets of CEOs who'll proceed to rape our wallets.

'Course, you also have to deal with how socially tolerant you want your government.

There are multiple versions of "today's world", though. You still have developing and developed countries, where different forms of government would be necessary in order to instill a sense of well being within a culture/society. Not to mention that there are a myriad of cultures in "today's world" that all require different aspects.

Which would really make you think that Democracy would be the most effective form, but humans are too...human, and muck everything up.

So, to wrap it up, the Benevolent Dictator. :D

As someone said, "Representative Democracy isn't easy - those who expect it to be are the ones who screw up the system."

The best kind of government, I think, would be an Awesomocracy, where the ruler is the Super Kickass Master Blaster, because no one would want to mess with someone called the Supreme Kickass Master Blaster. The pros would be that everyone would be awesome to each other, good economy and crap because no one is a douche to each other, so no crime, pollution, no bad news, because everything is awesome, super-crazy-awesome crap like hovercrafts, floating toilets, flying banana cream pies that fly around hitting people for a comedic element, robot-robots, which are robot versions of robots, and cops let you shoot their big-ass laser guns. Everything will be awesome and sweet, and again, no douche-baggery. The cons would be that there would be a never-ending war with a Crapublic, the ruler of which is the Supreme Douche, and they're all bent on ruining our awesome time, like spitting in a punch bowl, or taking a big crap and leaving the door open, going around hitting people in the back of the head and shouting "Catch me, beyotch!!!" every time they do it, and even telling us all the details of why Hitler was right and plugging their ears after, so they can't listen to your arguments, the bastards.

The Republic is the best way to go. Pure Democracy is good in theory, but letting the masses rule directly can lead to confusion and problems with getting things done. So representation is put in place, officials appointed by the masses to act in their places.

Of course in a Republic it is possible for a select few to rule in a tyrant-like manner, but only if the population that elected them become apathetic, so as long as the populous is involved and informed politically, then a Republic is the best system in my opinion.

Socialism and Communism are not good ideas of government, they strip too many rights from the individual. Sure people can go out and commit crimes when they have so much freedom of movement and ease of aquiring weapons, but no matter how strict the laws are, those who wish to do harm to others will. You can't control individuals for any extended period of time, instead a society must foster a tight-nit community with members that are willing to help and protect each other while respecting their personal rights.

"Those who would give up a little liberty for a little security, deserve neither and will lose both." Benjamin Franklin.

That argument's fallacious. Mainly because no, democracy is not fast paced at all. You can't get rid of them 'pretty fast'. If you want to see dead efficiency, go take a peek at communism. Democracy is painfully slow compared to communism.

Also i support the capital and corporal punishments. Some fuckers just need to die. When i see people going about saying " Oh but you have no right in taking a human's life ". Well that idiot had no right taking another person's life either. An eye for an eye, everybody ends up blind but well, if that guy didnt go blind he wasn't going to help me and he might even harm me further. If I'm ( The public ) am going blind, the guy who did that ( the criminal ) sure as hell is coming down with me.

Monarchy.
Why?
1:A single ruler can have consistant goals, and consistant relationships with the world around him.
2:He will not be subject to the random and often damaging whims of the people.
3:Like any person (thats smarter then a sack of bricks) he would look after his country and countrymen just as we would look after our family and homes.
4:Will inspire growth and spread of its culture.

Example: the British Empire

As compared to Democracy:
Democracy does allow greater freedoms and civil liberties. Great on paper but the beast of the welfare state will eventually catch voters cancer and kill itself. That is to say, people will always want more, and to get into power politicans must offer them more.
This state of constant compromise and hand outs (as it will always become) creates a culture of individuality, growing a sense of greed, selfishness and self-rightesnous that stops a proper culture from improving on itself.

Example: United States of America

As Compared to Communism:
Monarchy under a diffrent economic model and intolerance to religion. Economicly it may work. Remove the intolerance to religion and your set to go with good spirits. This does not seem to happen however.

Example: Soviet Russia

As Compared to Republic:
Republics arn't that much different then Democracys. Although the emphasis is on the rich.

Example: Roman Empire

As Compared to Anarchy:
Anarchy has no place as a goverment. It causes more mayhem and havoc then any of the others.

As Compared to Dictatorship:
A Monarchy in which the Monarch has lost the good tidings of its people and must rule through various nefarious deeds.

Example: Assyrian Empire

This is all speaking relativly and is by no means a perfect example or explantion :p

Moving towards so socialism approach would be better for EVEYONE in the long term. though the people who are rich will ***** about it. It just needs to be done right. But remain partially democratic so it doesn't turn into another dictatorship.

Im not a fan of the American system, putting all your power in the prez seems foolish. the westminster system has done Australia alright. even if we do have to tell the queen shes still cool. Our prime ministers are not all powerful, just figureheads for their party.

Anarchy, but I think the assholes and maniacs would just ruin everything.

I don't think there is any efficient form of government. But I suppose Capitalism works, kinda...
