So I want to know what concerts you guys have gone to, maybe some of us have gone to the same and can share memories?
Too many to list, so instead, here's some of my most bizarre, spectacular and just plain weird concert memories:

* An audience member getting up on stage and lighting a bong at a Beastie Boys gig, then offering it to the band (who refused to touch it, presumably for legal reasons) before diving off stage. He somehow evaded any consequences from both venue security and police, despite having bright blue hair and being really tall, and them actively looking for him.

* Also at another Beastie Boys gig, their keyboardist climbing a PA stack easily over 25 foot high and diving off it, landing on his keyboard, and continuing to play as if nothing had happened.

* An orange smokebomb going off in front of Spiderbait during an outdoor festival that was so large it obscured the entire front of the massive outdoor stage for at least two minutes.

* A Fear Factory gig where the crowd invaded the stage - by the end of the show over 40 people were onstage moshing out with the band while they were playing their encore song "Martyr". People were stagediving but there was nobody really there to catch them thanks to most of the crazy up-the-front punters being actually on stage themselves, so many people were hitting the floor.

* Necro playing an all-ages gig, where the all-ages area was a cordoned-off area right at the front of the stage. When Necro went into his customary "time to do sex raps, let's get the girls onstage" a whole bunch of underage girls went up, as they were closest to the stage - the adults were all at the rear of the venue, where the bar and alcohol was. Necro and crew tried to grope them a bit as they are known for doing during this part of the evening and the girls reacted predictably i.e ewww, GTFO. Awkward, awkward times.

* Mr Bungle playing on a very small stage with no room to move whatsoever. A 7-piece band with bonkers music and the vocalist manning two microphones and effects machines, Mike Patton did his best to "go off" in about 20cm squared. Bizarre but they didn't miss a beat and played "Carry Stress In The Jaw" note-for-note.

* Courtney Love getting bitten by a bug during a Hole set, and walking off to get medical attention, pissing off everyone. To be fair, Australian bugs are pretty goddamn nasty. They eat birds, you know.

* Some guy in the audience while I was watching Murderdolls was giving the band shit. The band stopped their song and invited the guy to come onstage to get his head kicked in, in very colourful language. Scary because the guy was right behind me and for one moment I thought maybe the guy was talking to me instead because he seemed to be pointing right at me. In fact, maybe he was because I looked around for the other guy and didn't see him.

* Motley Crue training a video camera on the audience, projected onto the back wall of the venue, and trying to get the girls in the audience to take off their tops. No takers. They also blew up the PA that night. Watching the band perform in near-silence for about four minutes with full light show, gymnastics etc before they realised what had happened to their sound system was one of the most surreal sights I've ever seen.

There's probably more but that will do for now. Best bands I've ever seen live, probably the aforementioned Beastie Boys and also Rancid, both incredible.

I've seen a few, but the best would have to be Pendulum - Saw them at Download 2009, in Edinburgh in March 2010 and Aberdeen in December 2010. Every time it's been insane.

I saw Linkin Park live back in 2004.

...What? I like them. To be fair, it was back when they were in their prime.

Uh...let's see...

Coheed and Cambria- I've seen them twice. Once during their Neverender: SSTB tour and once as an opening act for Weezer. The guys put on a fantastic show.

Weezer- Seen them twice also. Once as openers for Blink-182 and once as headliners for a local festival in Kansas City. They're a lot of fun to see live, Rivers Cuomo is a hilarious guy.

Foo Fighters- Saw them two years ago. Fantastic live band, I'm seeing them again in September.

Rise Against- Saw them last summer, possibly the best band I've seen live. They played pretty much all of their awesome songs. I'm seeing them again in September when they open for Foo Fighters.

Them crooked vultures.
The crowd wasn't going crazy or anything, and they didn't pull out any special moves or whatever, it was just such a pleasure to watch them play.

I saw Dream Theater open for Iron Maiden, that was cool.
And I got one of Iron Maiden's tour t-shirts that I've yet to see anywhere else so that's always a plus.

Wilco. It was a 4 hour out door concert. It was amazing. They gave 2 encores.
They are my favorite band. First time I've seen a fellow fan of them here. I saw them on my birthday in 2008 with Bon Iver opening for them. They also gave 2 encores then.
Have you seen the Ashes of American Flags documentary? Nels Cline is absolutely beat after every show. Not hard to imagine, as they tend to play long shows and he puts everything he has into it.

Oh, and you can find most every show they've played live online for download. They used to have a link on their website for it, but it's not there anymore. You might can find the show you went to (I always love reliving the moment). I'm not on my main computer, so I don't have the link now. I'll look if you're interested, though.
