The book is not necessarily pro or anti war, it is a complex and detailed look at society and political intrigues and methodology. Specifically, "Through Rico's eyes, Heinlein examines moral and philosophical aspects of suffrage, civic virtue, the necessities of war and capital punishment, and the nature of juvenile delinquency." (cit, wiki). Just because the book investigates the necessity of, say, war, does not necessarily insinuate that it condones it.Hippopotamus said:

Good books in the wrong hands? Well, considering today's culture, we're lucky if people have a book in their hands ever. Today reading a book for pleasure is almost a sign that a person has enough of a soul to not gorge themselves on television. Books may be misused and misinterpreted, but let me tell yah, no one will feel the need to burn books when nobody reads them anymore.

Pretty much any book that has made a statement about anything has been abused at some point for someone's benefit... It's just the way it goes. All the most famous books in history have been perverted at some point for the sake of an agenda... These days it's become even more prelevant. A annoying example is how some high-up cardinals can pitch a fit about certain books of fiction. Please don't make this cause a flood of Church-hating posts though, as we all know what I'm talking about. No further need to discuss it.
It all doesn't seem to matter in the end though... people these days don't read as much as they used to. I'm pretty confident that F451 will soon become a possibility, unless the school systems get themselves in shape.

Seeing as this is full of everyone saying the bible, I shall say the Koran.

Seriously, when you look at the teachings of the Koran and then look at ALL Islamic extremist groups and Muslim radicals, the first words out of your mouth will be "Where the fuck did they get THAT from?" It is like all the Islamic radicals used a Sharpie to cross out the things they don't like and rewrite whole verses the way they want them. Pretty much ALL of their beliefs and actions are either not actually from the Koran, are twisted to mean something they aren't supposed to, or are completely ass backwards opposite of what the Koran says. I serious wonder if any of these Islamic terrorist groups actually read the Koran sometimes...
I'm not even going to get into groups like Abu Sayyaf...They are even worse. They are the equivalent of a common street gang raping, stealing, and killing while waving around a Bible and saying "God says it is all okay as long as we say it is all for him!" They aren't even fighting for a cause or anything...They are just common, greedy thugs and mercenaries that claim that the Koran says that everything they do is just fine if they say it is for the jihad and Allah.
