Going back a few years, I really liked Jet Force Gemini for the N64. Sure it wasn't as expansive on multiplayer as Goldeneye, but the graphics were better and you could play as a dog with Vertical Take Off and Landing jets on his paws (or tank treads for legs).

I really hope since Rare released Banjo Kazooie on X-Box Live Arcade that perhaps JFG will be given the same chance. JFG, the Original Super Smash Bros, and LoZ: Ocarina of Time are the main reasons to keep an N64 in your home, IMO. (Goldeneye is decent too.)

Who hasnt played this game? I love it though.
The right question would be "who on The Escapist hasn't played it?" I find that a surprisingly high number of people on here have, but by contrast, very few people I talk to in the "real world" have played it; hell, some of them haven't even heard of it.

I absolutely love it as well, and as such it really annoys me that hardly anyone's played it.

1) The darkness (xbox 360)
2) Turok Evolution (xbox)
3) Mechassault 2 (xbox)
4) Lost Planet (xbox 360)
5) The darkness. Why has nobody played this? It's my favourite game of all time! Check it out.

That is all.

I actually still haven't played it as my PS2 died right when it came out and I haven't seen a copy since then.

Tomba! [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomba!]
This was one of the best platformers I've ever played, and it didn't sell well but it was truly an underappreciated gem.

Viewtiful Joe, Killer 7 and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat (the original with bongos, which was sort of the point of the game, rather than the fairly impotent Wiimake) are all excellent titles that deserved much more attention than they ever got.

The cool independent crowd will probably kill me for this this, but...
I didn't like Beyond Good and Evil. Or rather, I didn't "get" Beyond Good and Evil.

Everybody said that it's awesome, but when I tried it out, it was just a boring and bland gaming experience for me. I thought it was so boring that I didn't even had patience to finish it.

Well, I suppose that's what "cult" means. Not everybody is going to get it.

Hmmm... Total Annihilation, although that said a shitload of people play TA Spring which is at spring.clan-sy.com----------edit: Oh, and tons of people do play TA, just not anymore. They're either into TASpring or Supcom.

Other games I'd have to say are Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. Google it, you're gonna wanna download it after you see it (Freeware, you can only get it on Amazon now which basically means no moar retail which means "If I can't get it from the games store up the road, it's free")

Freelancer. It's not that nobody plays it it's just that less people play it now.

I don't have time to read through all o' this stuff, so I may be seconding someone else's opinions...

Freedom Fighters, hell yes.

Shadowgate 64: Awesome console based Adventure game for the N64 that takes the shallow plot of its predecessor and makes it into a rich mythology.

Stronghold: Crusader: I dunno...perhaps the last good Stronghold game. Recently released with extra features as Crusader Extreme. Did anyone else play this? Deep, DEEP economy system.

All I can think of atm.

EDIT: Okami had moderate financial success, from what I've heard. They don't remake unsuccessful games...most of the time.

i like lost planet, the darkness, and raze's hell.
and i had a friend show me okami

(by no one plays i'm going by how few people play the multiplayer, i would mention shadowrun but it has a pretty healthy multiplayer for both the demo and the actual game)
