Portal was really underwhelming. It was cool at first, but halfway through I was bored out of my mind. It's the video game equivalent of In the Aeroplane Over the Sea: Hyped to hell and back, but spectacularly mediocre.

CURSE YOU!!!!!! as i'm gluttony i'm gonna have to eat you and your opinion so that no person will ever hear it again.

Do it. Make me a martyr for my stance so more people will take note of the opinion I stood by even in my last few moments.

Also saw some mention Banjo Tooie which I forgot about so I'm seconding that motion. If there is proof that a game can be "too big", it's BT.

Fallout 1 and 2.

I really can't understand how so many people can love those games.
An uncommon opinion, but one that I can understand.

I finished Fallout 1 and am currently halfway through Fallout 2 and it feels like an utter slog.

Go to town, click every random clone NPC, get oblique fetch quest, click every random NPC you see again till you find the right one, do horrible mindless turn based combat until your eyes fall out or you fall asleep...

There are aspects of them that are better than Fallout 3 though, like the soundtrack, and, um.... well that's actually all I prefer.

See people can't say Halo on this thread because the majority of the sight think it's an awful game and therefore not considered great (I loved that game myself) also nobody tends to give that a reason (and "because 12 year olds and fratboys play it" is NOT a good enough reason).

I dunno... I guess I'll go with Fallout 3 due to the fact that it's just not my style of game. I can see why people like it, what with stunning visuals and interesting questlines but the fact is that I found it hard to get from point A to B without having to repeat an area which I, myself hate having to do...

Damn feral ghouls!
Well let me start on my reason for halo. The story was pretty much crap the multiplayer was and still is in halo 3 fairly unbalanced. The combat and weapons themselves were very poorly done. To me it just seemed like a game that would have been decent if it came during the time of the n64 but there were so many better fps games when it came out it is just a big letdown.
While I don't agree with any of your points, I'm glad to see that someone has voiced their opinion.

Shadow of the Colossus. The game was beautiful, but the main character's actions literally disgusted me. I never finished the game because I just couldn't stand to watch that androgynous prick kill all of the Colossi.

I mean, they were all so badass, but when it came down to it they had all more or less passed their prime! Multiple Colossi involved you shattering their worn down armor, or tricking their senile minds by hiding somewhere, and then stabbing out their kidneys.

They got so much right gameplay wise, but the story is unbearable for me!

/rant
That was the whole point of the game, they wanted you to question your morals.

I was underwhelmed with SOTC too, but because I found it incredibly fiddly and frustrating to play.

DEAD SPACE. I hated that game so much. The combat was kinda interesting, but then the main point of "Cut off the limbs!!!" was just thrown aside by the the machine gun and the force gun and all the other guns that didn't cut stuff. THEN the ending killed me. It felt like a cheap smack in the face. Screw that game.
Isaac doesn't die at the end. They're halfway through making a sequel and he's in it.

It was definately a shitty ending though.

The orange box, a bunch of games I had no fun in.
EVEN PORTAL?!
I don't think Portal is the Holy Grail everyone makes it out to be.

It's certainly a clever mechanic that is excellently executed but the game is too short, looks utterly bland and just didn't involve me half as much as it's big brother, HL2

I wouldn't classify any of these games as great, but many people seem to do. So yea feel the hate speech if you're a fan I guess.

HL2 - An above average FPS, but no way near something like Deus Ex. - Valves TF2 was/is great though.
DoW - An average RTS that never caught my attention despite having a pretty cool universe.
MW2 - I played as far as the South American slum level and was so bored that I just uninstalled the game instantly.
Mass Effect 1/2 - Ok I guess, but I got bored quickly - on a side note I did like Dragon Age though.
Arkham Asylum - Decent, the Scarecrow levels were nicely done fx, but the combat was meh, and the stealthing was also kind of meh.

MW2 wasn't that great
Halo was absolute rubbish
Gears of War falls into the same category as Halo.

These are meant to be the best games for XBOX 360?
Frankly, they make me regret buying one.

Baldur Gate 2- I guess the graphics and combat would never appeal to me anymore. I guess I was born in the wrong time to see it's ''awesome'' story and depth.

a lot of games, really. Gears of War (i will admit that it's good, but we're talking about being blown away here), Bioshock 2, CoD: Modern Warfare 2, Final Fantasy 7, Fallout 3 (huge disappointment), Metal Gear Solid 4, Mass Effect.

Bioshock 1 and 2 they aren't fun... even that I like games with a solid story, I like FPS, I LOVE moral choices. But I don't like it for some reason...

Half Life 2...KIDDING!!!
I'd say Metal Gear Solid 3. I just didn't like it, but that's just me.
And WM2 as well.
Wodern Marfare?
Yes, Modern Warfare 2, the multiplayer was alright but the campaign was short as hell.
I still prefer BBC2 multiplayer.
Although I though the first Modern Warfare was great, better than 2.

Resident Evil 4

I don't know why, but I think I prefer the tank controls. It just didn't feel like a Resident Evil game to me...guess I missed the horrible voice acting (jill sandwich ftw)

FF13 at the moment, but I'm still going to give it a chance.

Prototype I've found fun in places but mostly a frustrating load of old cobblers so far.

And Resident Evil 5 has an utterly, irrevocably horrible final quarter that completely ruined the game for me.
Yeah, it starts off fairly promising, but then you meet Wesker and it's kind of like... Umm... I'm fighting the Matrix?
Wesker totally stole JC Denton's tailor, hehehe.
